I believe my LR auto updated and now everything is ruined.   2019 IMac 3.7GHz Catalina I use multiple individual LR Catalogs - one for each client/shoot and none open so far and everything was fine yesterday. I need a super fast way to review files on a bare bones older MacBook Air site after a shoot - LR Import tries to see everything - yes you can select only JPG files when you have RAW+JPG on an SD card - but I expect the "reading" of all the RAW files takes a lot of time.... so I was hoping that LR could be preset to ignore the RAWs.   Another option I suppose would be to use OSX preview and skip LR - but I have concerns about available memory, and the rating system in LR will help the client make choices easier. ... I've moved my 2019 iMac 3.7 2TB Fusion/Mojave - over to a bootable Thunderbolt3 1TB External SSD/Catalina - which was a clean install (goal of speeding up my system, reduce clutter and move all non-essential files to redundant externals.)   I'm on the CC photography plan so was able to reinstall LR+PS easily via the CC Installer - but all my custom user setups were wiped out in the process - so I have to rebuild manually.  In LR it's not too bad - I managed to find my camera profiles, but still need to figure out where the custom tone curves are hidden in the old system (for instance).  It lost my watermarks but also an easy fix. PS on the other hand is much harder.  I have custom Actions, LUTs, keyboard shortcuts, brushes and so much more - every time I try to do something on the new setup - I find parts of my workflow that are missing.   It's essentially migrating to another machine - manually.  The working setup with all the pieces is still running on my internal Fusion HDD - so I can find the pieces in the libraries - it's a matter of what pieces/where. I'm savy enough to get to the hidden system directories manually - and I have Chronosync which can sync folder to folder even on the system admin level.  That would be ideal - to say (theoretically) - just copy the user/library/applicationsupport/adobe directory from the internal to the same location on the new boot SSD.  Chronosync can just copy the differences and not replace any other files.   So the question - how to move all these different things manually and get everything working as is - or, if possible - can I use Chronosync do speed it up without worries of confusing things?  I can chase down one thing at a time - Move my LUTs today - brushes another day, actions etc, etc.  that might be slower but also not bring over anything I didn't actually want.  Is there a master document that shows all the locations of all the different parts?   Oh yea, and to make it more fun - I keep a copy of both PS2020 and 2021 installed - since 2020 has a legacy plug-in I use freqently.  This means making these things work in both 2020 and 2021 versions! ... I'm so confused.  I subscribe to the photography plan so I can have all the latest/current things but then get this email taking about new features in Lightroom desktop version 4.3 which I apparently don't have in Classic 10.3. OSX ("Premium Presets are available starting from Lightroom desktop version 4.3 (June 2021 release).")   The LR/PS programs are installed on my desktop - but it's not desktop?  And a totally different versions?  Proior to subscribing I had LR Desktop Version 6.  Now I'm not sure if I am confused - or it's Adobe? ... I've run into this before and it's really annoying.  Changing the version of PS doesn't matter - they all do this but FWIW I'm using the desktop CC versions 2020/2021 -   I do a lot of pixel level editing with high reolution A7RIV files - sometimes we need to do a head replacement (for instance) - but when transform+fractional rotation is applied the jaggies kick in really badly  I get this doing composite work as well.  There usually isn't a lot fo resizing going on - the attached samples were relatively same size materials.   So far the solution is to go over the jaggies with a clone brush from each side, and smooth them out.  Guess what I'm wondering is why can't the image turn smoothly? It's not the borders of the copied sections either - it's any clean smooth lines of contrast in the center seem to get crunched.  Yes, I'm zoomed way in - but the jaggies weren't there on the original copied section after it was pasted - only upon being rotated.     ... Can't figure out why my hard round brush paints a smaller diameter circle than the cursor shows.    It's the same in brush tool - or clone etc. I don't have pressure or any other setting applied. I've tried clear all brush controls and also reset all locked setting from the mini menu. Nothing. I lose about 25-30% of the circle diameter for no apparent reason...   ... View more

I've been searching but can't seem to find any way to view a real time preview of LUT on a Color Lookup adjustment layer from the drop down menu. One suggestion online was to arrow through the LUTs on the drop down - however they do not load a preview. The fastest method I've found is click on the dropdown, arrow down + enter = click/arrow/enter repeatedly isn't ideal but all there seems to be. I'm looking for a way to do this without buying/subscribing to 3rd party things. At very worst if it's just not possible - is it possible to create folders/categories to sort them with?  (Similar to Lightroom) ... View more
