I'm on another computer right now so I can't do that today, but I really think I've tried all reasonably ordinary settings, including the most common ones, and I get the exact same results no matter what I do: Total white or black screens (audio is played back correctly, though).   Again, I actually think it's more of a Windows issue, because the videos look as expected on every other platform I've tried.   It did worry me a bit for a few hours though, until I started testing on a Mac and saw that everything looked fine there.   I should add that though all Adobe's app are the latest versions, I haven't updated Windows on that PC the past 5-6 months because everything in the current setup works fine with some 3D apps i need to use. Another weird thing: If I reduce the frame size by more than 25 pixels, the line gets thicker.   I don't get it...   Perhaps there's a specific 'magic' amount of reduction that works for each aspect ratio, and perhaps I just happened to find that by chance for the first two videos.   Right now, I can't think of anything other than try to reduce frame size in tiny increments and hope one of them will work.   I don't think I mentioned that there are no lines when I use the Export frame option.   So, I could actually manually export each frame and import them as a sequence. There are less than a thousand frames per video so it would take less time than trying all these settings. Only thing is that Premiere might add that line again when rendering the imported sequence, since there's still that white frame around each still. And the quality is also lower; each single-exported frame is around 7mb, while each 'real' video frame is around 11mb. ... View more

Sorry to keep posting about this, but it turns out that the assumed solution only worked on two videos (which have almost the same size).   I'm now having the exact same issue with another video which is around 4,000 x 8,000 pixels, and no matter how much I change the frame size, that darn line, or lines, still appear in various sizes.   It's only visible when the video is displayed at 25% or more of its original size.   Just to see what happened, I tried to crop a bit off of the white background and, as expected, that made the lines much wider. So in order to do the opposite, I tried to scale up the white background image to get past whatever is causing the lines to appear, but that didn't change anything. Which in itself is a little peculiar, I think, because it seems to imply that the line isn't the black background sort of shining through, but perhaps caused by the rendering process itself. I can confirm that reducing frame size by 9 pixels, both height and width, for an approx 6,000 x 6000 video solves this issue.   So, that's actually semi-great after a very long day of experiments... 🙂 ... View more

Dear Sumeet, Thank you very much for your reply -- I can't share screenshots as it's work for hire, but I would think the issue is pretty easy to reproduce:   Simply place, say, a 4k video on a larger white background (still/matte), set the frame size to that of the background and export. There will be lines.   But again, they are only visible in apps or on websites that have a white background, and at some zoom settings they are quite hard to see. Which I guess is why most people will never notice them.   On the bright side, after exporting a lot of short test sequences it seems that reducing both heigh and width by 9 pixels each (for an approx 6,000 x 6,000 frame) does remove the lines.   So a work-around might be to make the white background a bit larger to compensate for later reductions.   As for the engine, I've switched between CUDA and software only, but it didn't make a difference.   I'm currently rendering a full video and will report back when I've got the results... ... Found a solution:   If I reduce the frame size with 5 pixels -- not 3 or 4, but 5 -- (both width and height), the line disappears!   In other words, Premiere's frame size needs to be smaller than a white image to avoid thin lines around it. ... View more

Thank you for your reply!   I thought of that, there's definitely something weird about exporting AI as a psd in the first place. But I'm not comfortable with Photoshop the same way as with AI, and I don't think Ps can handle really large video files (but I could be wrong).   As for rasterizing, I'm actually impressed by the results I got from exporting png's from Illy --> importing into Premiere --> exporting/importing back into Illy; the still is rasterized, but I wouldn't say in a destructive way. I think the solution is to make the original png's a bit larger than their intended display size in Premiere which doesn't even take any resources; my png's were like 2-3mb while the psd that didn't work was like 40 or so... ... Okay, more details:   When I scale all imported images to fit the screen, I can now see the separate vector elements.   But nothing is shown correctly:   All blending modes are ignored What should be a blue drop shadow around a shape instead appears as a solid blue shape Because the images are not layered, but instead shown as a sequence, what should have been transparent image parts placed on top of a white background are instead shown on Premiere's black background.   EDIT: I now manually dragged each of the 15 psd layers into its own corresponding track on the timeline, on top of each other where they're supposed to be placed. But several layers are missing, and, again, blending modes are ignored.   So I'm beginning to think this is more of an Illustrator issue, and that the only solution is to export all Illustrator elements as three separate png's instead of as a psd.   Only problem with this solution is that those three files need to be placed exactly on top of each other, pixel-accurate, and I don't know if that is possible.   EDIT 2: As mentioned above, I instead exported foreground, middle and background as three transparent png's instead of as a psd file. The good news is that Premiere placed these three images perfectly on top of each other so everything aligns. I realize now that the string of folders that are placed on the timeline when I import using the Individual Layers option are in fact separate layers.   I noticed that because one of these layers -- the project's only bitmap image -- is in fact visible when I move the cursor across it.   But all the Illustrator vector images are represented by black rectangles.   And, again, instead of placing all these layers on top of each other as expected, they're are placed in a sequence...   So, bottomline:   1) Vector images don't show, and 2) Imported layers are placed horizontally on the timeline as a sequence, instead of vertically as expected ... Thank you Doug and Ton, I wasn't aware of the cog wheel!   But rasterized images -- where all the dots are 100% black -- are still pixelated when exported from Illustrator.   I should add that by 'pixelated' I not only mean that there are pixels per se, but also that those pixels show grey-tones, which they shouldn't.   When I instead copy the image from Illustrator, paste it into Photoshop and then export as a png from PS, then the resulting image does NOT show those grey-tones. Instead, the rasterized image appears as expected, all dots are still 100% black.   Again, it's no longer an issue to me since I just use PS instead... ... View more
