Hi Filmguy, Sorry to hear about this. I have reproduced a recent bug where Dynamic Link can be slower in some cases with the newer release. We are investigating and working on this issue internally. Can you describe the issue you're seeing in greater detail? The patch resolved the issue for most users so it would be good to understand more details. Are you working with Mogrts / Templates? Has it occurred with more than one font? Is it an Adobe or external font? Would you like to share a small project that reproduces the issue? If so, feel free to send me a PM. Wes

Sounds good. If you can do a quick comparison of a Dynamic Link project between 2018 and 2019 that would be useful too. Or if you'd like to package up a small test project, I would also be happy to run some tests on my machines. Not every aspect and feature in Pr is fully optimized for taking advantage of multiple threads. There are some bottlenecks that can vary by workflow. We are definitely continuing to work on performance improvements including hardware decoding and hardware encoding feature and other things I can't mention. Lots of moving parts. Wes

Trying to clean up these threads and clear up confusion. It's been hard to track posts and there have been multiple issues in the original source thread. I've managed to resolve several of those issues on that thread and am happy to do more investigation here. If you can share a small project that would be great. Please LMK. Curious, are you using a desktop or a laptop? Are you seeing differences exporting to NTFS drivers compared to EXFAT? Have you isolated the majority of the issues be Dynamic Link related? Wes

We've been trying to isolate issues from a large thread that was headed in many directions. I have been reaching out to users on the original thread for the past couple days. Many issues have been related to specific drivers and hardware configurations. Can you share your hardware config details and current version of drivers being used?

I reached out to support and they should be following up soon. Glad to hear you've updated that driver. I hope it helps. Did you try Nvidia driver 416.16? It's hard for me to address questions related to your GPU usage as I am not super familiar with your laptop and if there are configuration options that determine which GPU is used. Often times laptops give you some control in that area. Do you see CUDA acceleration options available under your project settings? Can you enable them and if so does it make things faster?

Hello there, I will see what I can do to expedite your support case. Sorry for the delay. I have seen issues with configurations using dual GPUs. In this case, some are using older Intel drivers and this can cause issues. There have been many changes including Windows updates. This is what I'd recommend. Go to the Intel side and find the latest version of your Intel Driver. I'll provide a link to a driver that has helped a few people but please verify this is compatible with your hardware (I don't have your info) https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28289/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10?product=88345 Customers are also reporting better results using GeForce Driver 416.16 instead of 416.34. First thing I'd do is make sure your Intel driver is updated to a recent version. (Don't trust Windows update or Intel utilities on your machine). Your Nvidia driver may work fine but you can also try version 416.16, if needed. I've seen these steps resolve issues for many users that have similar driver problems. Hi Oliver, This performance issues could be related to driver version. Which GPU do you use? Can you share other machine configuration details? Are you using a laptop with dual GPUs by chance? For Quadra cards, Nvidia is recommending version 411.81. I would recommend trying that driver. For some of the issues related to upgrading mid-project including the clip duration / stripes issue, it can often be a good idea to manually delete two media cache folders. This can take some time to regenerate files if you are working on a very large project so please keep this in mind. Here is a post with great info on resetting media cache. https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2152942 Please delete your media cache folders and try Quadro driver 411.81. Please let me know if that helps. One challenge of long threads like this is they often end up with reports of different issues - sometimes with similar results or symptoms. For example, there can be various causes for reduced performance. I am happy to work with anyone on this thread to help investigate and resolve issues. In some cases, I need more detailed information in order to understand what's going on and move forward. Re: Dynamic Link Slowdowns I have been provided a test project (Thank you) and I have been able to reproduce a slowdown related to using Dynamic Link when Premiere and After Effects are open at the same time. Investigation is still underway, but in early testing, this appears to be specific to Mac and possibly related to Mojave. We are actively investigating this issue internally. The current temporary work around for this is to close the UI version of After Effects while rendering Premiere projects that contain Dynamic Linked comps. I will provide more info on this as it comes available. Re: Other issues mentioned on this thread It would seem that there are other issues not related to Dynamic Link being reported. As mentioned previously in the thread there have been many changes related to GPU drivers and OS updates. These have causes slowdowns for some users and in some cases support for older cards has changed. Mojave does not support CUDA at this time. If you would like help investigating slow downs, you are welcome to send me a PM and I will help investigate. If you are able to provide a short test project this can is optional but can help expedite the process of resolving an issue. I noticed your laptop is set up with an Nvidia GPU. Mojave does not support CUDA at this time. If you're rendering in software mode, it won't be as fast in many cases compared to rendering with GPU acceleration / CUDA.

If you're crashing, feel free to send me a crash report. These provide good info. You can copy and paste the crash info from the dialog that pops up if you'd like to send it to me directly. Your issues sounds a bit different than the DL performance issues mentioned above. May be worth filing a new thread to help focus on that issue. Otherwise, more info is needed in order to help. (OS, GPU, GPU Driver, Project details, etc). There have been a lot of recent changes with GPU drivers and OS. If you're crashing that would be one of the first things I would check into.

Hello, Couple questions for you. More info is needed. I'm guessing you may be using Lumetri to grade or correct media? If so, Have you adjusted the sliders for whites or black in the Lumetri panel? There is a known issue that affects some users. We are working to provide a fix for this soon. If this is the case, are you working with Adjustment layers? Sometimes moving the effect to the clip below can help. Otherwise, adjusting contrast with curves or other filters is a recommended workaround until a fix can be made public.

The new version of Premiere 2019 requires an updated version of CUDA 9.2. It won't work properly with pre-9.2 CUDA drivers. https://theblog.adobe.com/important-information-on-gpu-acceleration-with-cuda-and-apple-metal/ We have notified the public on this matter but there is some confusion around this area and there have been some related issues with newer Nvidia drivers and also some changes around Windows updates. Can you please clarify if Display Color Management is enabled or disabled? Also, what file formats are you working with? We currently interpret most formats as Rec709. With Premiere 2019, we added color space management for the import of JPEGs, but it is not widely supported with most other still image formats. Expanded color space management for more import and export formats in Premiere Pro is definitely something we'd like to do in the future.

Worth a shot. Glad you are getting help from the senior techs. Sounds like progress. Are you on a dual GPU setup (laptop) by chance? There have been many GPU driver changes from manufacturers lately and a higher than normal number of GPU issues. We're actively investigating and working on resolving these issues internally at Adobe.
