Thanks Bruce. Seems I had a few things wrong. Needed a file path not a file object. Needed to select the target bin. Well thank you all for your quick responses.  However, I'm still having issues. I've tried 2 different approaches. APPROACH #1 app.openFCPXML() - (Errors out in Extendscript by highlighting the app.openFCPXML line) APPROACH #2 app.project.import() - (Errors out in Extendscript by highlighting the app.project.importFiles line) I see the API's in the in the Data Browser.  But no luck.  Any ideas....Thanks. I'm still working on this issue. I still cannot export a .prtl then edit the file in a text editor and re-import the file into PPro without PPro crashing. Are there any known specs for a .prtl file? Is anyone working with this same workflow? thanks, Kelly ... View more

In my research, TextEdit says the file is UTF-16.  Textwrangler and BBEdit say UTF-16 Little Endian.  The Mac terminal says UTF-16 Little Endian.  So I changed my code to be UTF16LE and the file still crashes PPro. if (outFile){   outFile.encoding = "UTF16LE";   outFile.open("w", "TEXT", "????");   outFile.write(theText);   outFile.close(); } ... Hey Bruce, my hand is pretty sore now after punching the computer screen so much... But seriously, I can't get this panel working again.  It seems the link from the HTML file to the JSX file is broken. I tried re-installing the panel.  That didn't work.  When I replace some files in the package, that broke the panel altogether (it wouldn't even load). Thanks for the advice, I will give it a try and get back to you. Just wondering though, how do you handle the issue of PProPanel not working?  Reboot?  Reinstall? Is this a bigger issue out there in the rest of the world?  And, if basing a new panel from PProPanel could possibly create issues, then what is the best practice for starting a new panel?
