I would make a new test project, add new item 'bars and tone' and make a 'new sequence from clip' If you are seeing the level meter showing the tone then it is something in your syatem that is at fault. Could you post a screenshot of your audio hardware settimgs. Also you could try setting your audio input to 'none' this sometimes cures audio issues.

There may be better ways but I would make an eight channel multitrack send everything to 1 and 2, this will let you hear everything, then send selected audio to 3-8 as your cleanfeed tracks.

Try changing your audio input to none. Try using an ASIO audio driver if one is available. Check that the track is not muted. Does audio play if you use the inbuilt bars and tone effect either from the program or the source monitor?

If you have Premiere try opening the file in that. You can then send the project to Audition, making a new video file that Audition can read.

You could try using an expander on each mic track if the bleed levels are different from the wanted audio.
