It would be nice to control the amount of bandwidth used by LRCC. In my case, I'd like to "dial it up" My experience shows no system degradation when LRCC is syncing in the background. I am able to use the Internet as if LRCC was not running. I do have a solid connection 100MB down and 10MB up. LRCC is only using 2.2MB up. When I am away from my Mac, it would be nice to be able to let LRCC use 100% of the bandwidth available. Don't take this as a complaint, just a suggestion 🙂 Monty

Thanks to Victoria Bampton and the discovery that I can search for keyworded pictures using "and" and "or" I'm ready to migrate my Classic library to CC First a little background then the question. I have a MacBook Pro with a 500GB disk. When home I connect the Mac to an external raid with about 900,000 GB of photos. I've read Adobe's article about migration: Migrate photos and videos from Lightroom Classic CC to Lightroom CC The article states: "The migration process creates a copy of your images. If you're running low on space on an internal drive on your computer, you might want to connect an external hard-drive and specify a location on it as the custom location." No problem, I can point CC's storage location to my raid. I have a lot of room there. Now for the question: Once I start the migration, will my Mac have to be connected to the external raid 100% of the time until the migration complete?. In Adobe's words, "This step may take a while to complete." I envision this taking many hours or even days? And that is not a problem, but I am always on the road with my Mac. Will I have to leave the Mac home???? Thanks Monty

I'm not sure what you mean by "Copied over my catalogue" In LR CC go to File -> Migrate Lightroom Catalogue. I would then browse to your original catalogue. I am using the Apple Camera app. I am not shooting from within LR CC. I take the picture using the Apple Camera App, the photos go into Apple Photos then LR CC imports them.... Monty

Odd, this week LR CC started importing photos taken on my iPhone (without my help). This morning I opened the iPhone camera app and took four pictures. This afternoon I opened LR CC on my MacBook Pro. The four pictures have automagically appeared in LR CC? I suspect this is happening on my iPhone. But it may be happening on my Mac. The iPhone Photos App is syncing with my Mac's Photo App. LR CC on my Mac, could be grabbing the photos from Apple Photos App on my Mac. As I said, it is probably happening on my iPhone To stop this, on my iPhone, I went into settings and removed LR CC's permissions to read and write to App Photos. Is there another way to stop this? It has been my experience that deleting folders and albums does not delete the contents. You should be able to the album created during migration Monty

We have to remember that LR CC is a 1.0 release. Features will come (I hope). My fingers are crossed. I check daily for updates I suspect, we all have tools that are missing. I believe keywords do not sync. Adobe recommends using the programs independently. CC is a separate program and should be used as such Monty

So far I am enjoying LR CC. For me, the edit module is complete enough. I shoot b/w and my in-camera settings get me 90% of the way there. (X100F) In LR Classic I use keywords and collections extensively. IMO, this the the area in CC that needs the most improvement. I'm sure it will come, but I am impatient. Once this is addressed I will be moving my Classic catalogue to CC. So, I'm ready. I'm ready for an update. With my fingers crossed, I check daily.... Monty
