It was the duplicate slide that was causing the problem. I deleted the duplicate slides and kept only the original version. It works fine now. So I'm wondering what I do from here? Stay tuned.

If you recall from my previously long thread, I was doing branching. I have to do the duplicate slides because I am not up to speed with the advanced actions. I am making great progress, but even if I were to get it right I have to be able to hand this project off to someone in the future, and they do not know advanced actions. So my question again is, do you think it's due to the multiple slides? I don't see why it would be. Each slide has it's own Jump To Action.

I have a Captivate 8 published file that is 16.9 MB. When the slide gets to a certain point the button starts working very slowly before it goes to the next slide. Sometimes it stops working all together. It's published as a swf and html 5. Might this be a loading issuse with the swf?

I think the third party widget is causing the problem with the survey quiz question... It needs a quiz question to send the send.php to our emails... When I put the survey question in the first slide that's when the first slide freezes after I put in the survey question. A graded question works fine....

Good news! I hide the first slide and after preview the buttons work fine. So it might have something to do in the first slide that is not moving forward once I put in the survey slide.

I see that if I just HIDE the Quiz Preview page it will not show up in the final output. I created another test Captivate 8 page and put in a survey quiz page and it previews fine. So this can only mean that the Captivate file I am working on is not allowing the one quiz survey page to function with the rest of the presentation.

I am using Captivate 8. I have 105 slides. When I create one Multiple Choice Quiz question that is a Survey ,Captivate 8 will freeze when I either Preview it or even publish it. The next button will not allow me to go to the next slide. However, when I create a Multiple Choice Question question that is Graded Captivate does work as a published file and Previews correctly. When I have the two together it works fine. When I remove the graded question and only have it as a survey question the problem starts again, nothing happens as a published file or works in preview mode. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this issue?

I get lost here: Here we have the Start Training button execute some conditional actions. IF empNumber is 87152 then we set manager to 1, change the status indicator to manager, and goto the next slide ELSE IF empNumber is 56993 then we just move forward ELSE we display an error box indicating that the number is not in the system.

You can use whatever numbers you want as long as you keep the logic straight but if you are trying to replicate mine - that is how I set it up. So I should change the 1 to a 0? I thought I was supposed to change the manager variable to 1. As for the rest of the actions instructions I should be doing Conditional actions correct?

The state that is visible is based on the value of the manager variable. if the value is zero - meaning non-manager - the non-manager state shows if the value is one - meaning manager - then the manager state shows so it is really a change state action rather than a show action I see. are you doing this in Captivate 2017? Why does Captivate 8's published files increase in size AFTER i reduce the number of slides? As you can see the files went from 911 down to 790 yet the file size increased from 7.28 MB to 13.3MB. This used to happen to me with Flash as well. It's always puzzled me. Perhaps someone can give me an explanation here.
