Maybe you are typing out in a huge font size, have you tried decreasing the font size to a 12pt or 14? Usually nothing appears when the font size is too large. Let me know if it helps!

I'm willing to bet that your Photoshop document is a higher resolution than the image you are downloading from the web. So even if it has high resolution, it might look blurry because the canvas size is very large.You can drag up the size on your own, but it will result in diminishing the quality of the image (pixilization, blurriness). In Photoshop go to Image > Image size and check the dpi of both images there. Hope this helps.

Photoshop is known to take much longer to save multi-layer .psd files than flat ones. If your file is too large, you can flatten it. Flatten the file as a test you'll find it will take about 1/10 as long to save. Of course, that's impractical in the general sense.

Get Adobe Extension Manager, open and click Exchange button, then click 'Add-ons website' when it opens in your browser, click Photoshop, scroll down to 'Creative Cloud Libraries', click and install. It probably won't install, but no worries, just click on 'Where to find it' tab and click 'Download / Install your Add-on another way', then download the extension to your machine. Back to Extension Manager, click Install, navigate to the extension (probably in Downloads, unless you have another place for your downloads) and install it. Restart Photoshop and voilà ! Worked for me.

I would suggest you to go to Applications > Adobe Application manager, run this and log-in when it asks you to. Then launch any Cloud App and click on 'Licence this Software' when it asks you to. Log in again with your Adobe ID, and you should get a thank you notice and your apps will stop giving the trial expiring notice.

Go to Preferences|Performance uncheck Enable OpenGL Drawing and see if that helps. else Try resetting the Preferences file. Start Photoshop and immediately hold down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS X). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"

You need to select the area in which you want to put that background.For that make a selection, copy the background and then paste into it (ctrl+shift+alt+v) or else make a clipping mask.
