I'm not sure why you are trying to nest these, but if you want to apply something to the clip why not put the "4k" clip in a sequence of its size (drag the clip to the "new" icon in the project panel). Apply what you want and then drag the 4k sequence into your 1080 project and re-size as needed. That way you can have the full-size clip to adjust in your 1080 timeline? Why are you needed a nested clip? Maybe there is a better workflow for you.

I never had an issue before. I would have 3-4 programs open - not all adobe - and switch between them and the driver handed off fine. The last update (or maybe 2) was when the problem showed up.

I have been having issues with my audio hardware as well. I replaced the cables and re-installed the driver, but neither helped. The problem is exacerbated when switching between Adobe apps. When I am running Premiere and switch to Audition the hardware goes offline about 90% of the time. If I switch between ASIO and MME in the hardware selection in Audition it will usually come back, but not always. I often have to unplug and re-plug the hardware. I'm on Win7 and using a Behringer 4x4 interface.

You can import PS files directly - no need to save in another format. If you draw something in the frame and import into Premiere, what you draw should show in Premiere. Where there is nothing drawn your footage will be visible. Place it on a layer above your footage and adjust the layer to be whatever length you need.

The quickest way may be to create a new sequence at 1080. The copy everything in the initial sequence and then paste it into the new 1080 sequence.

Start a new project and use the Media Browser panel to find your projects. When you click on them you will be able to import any timeline into your new project.

I thought PP took that into account. I can think of 2 ways around it: Set the properties on the initial sequence to be large enough so that your parts are at 100% scale. Then scale it down in the sequence where it is nested. The other would be to do it in AE. Just put everything in a comp and parent it all to a null and scale the null as needed to get the correct sizes.

I would probably try nesting all the scale parts. Take the timeline they are on and add it to a new timeline. Place the magnifying glass on the track about and scale your nested timeline.

I have a multi cam project. All 3 cameras record with different formats - DNx, AVC, and mov from DSLR. I have used this exact workflow in a previous version. I have added Lumetri effects to the master clips. When I render I receive a message that the metadata could not be written to the file, but no other error message. The 1 hour sequence lists out at 1k and of course will not play. I'm rendering using the YouTube 480 wide preset. Right now I'm trying several other formats. I am getting the same problem with another sequence with the same set-up, so it isn't a problem with the sequence. The footage is 1920, but the client wants a DVD, hence the format.

Of course, these are issues better dealt with during the shoot, but . . . You should be able to use either the spill suppressor of better yet, color correction to remove the green from the reflections. You will probably need to mask out the phone so the image remains in the shot. It is gong to take a considerable amount of time to do this as you will have to track or hand do the masking. Video Copilot has a video on the site about advanced keying techniques which will show a workflow to subtract the green but keep the reflections on the screen.

I think you have 2 options. Output an H.264 file at half size - 3840/512, or find out if they can playback an H.265 sequence which will allow for the ratio and size you need. I would create a test sequence and really try a payback before I settled on that one. If the venue is using Viteck hardware to manage the screens you are in luck.

Are they using one projector, or several? Dividing the width by height gives the ratio, of course. How you prep will depend on how it will be projected. You may need multiple files or they may have a way to break up a single file into the multiple projectors. Homework is needed. Basically you will create a mask in Premiere or AE and then fill from there. You may need to create some nested timelines - all depends on how projection is set up.

You may be able to use Particular if you have it. You can get the particles to follow a path made by animating a light used as an emitter. If memory serves there is a tutorial on the Red Giant site that lays out how to do this and add the arrow heads. You could also create the "frayed" pieces the same way.

If I understand the problem this is the exact reason Premiere instituted the proxy workflow. You can generate lower rez files and PP will handle the swapping for you. You can do all your work on the proxies and then tell PP to swap in the full-size files at render. When you create the sub-comps just right-click the audio layer and select "Guide Layer" that will allow you to use that layer to align things, but it won't render - works on video layers as well.

You can't change the sequence "in one spot" because video files aren't able to handle that. You can the size of clips in the sequences in several ways. The easiest is probably to select the clip, go to the effect controls tab, click the arrow next to motion so the controls open up and then adjust the scale to get the image you want. There are other ways, but they often have side effects. I believe Colin Smith has a video about this subject on his YouTube channel - Video Revealed.

Red is often an issue with the video color space, especially if it is a saturated red. The issue is worse with certain other colors adjacent to it. Black can be an issue because of the abrupt contrast. There are other color combinations in the video color space that can cause issues as well. And, of course, if you are rendering to an interlaced format, that will cause other issues.

Your source monitor will reflect the timecode of the clip it is displaying. If you need to find a point that is, say 35:00 into the clip you can set an in-point at the head and move down the clip a little and set an outpoint. That will give you a duration from the beginning and you should be able to figure out where you need to be from that.
