Specific colour combination gets blurry and unsharp

Hi everyone,

I'm very confused and at this point very frustrated. I have a number of colored backgrounds with text on them in 9 colour combinations that I created in Illustrator and use as background for transparent renderings in Premiere Pro. All combinations work except for one - black on red.

The files are definitely the same sizes, dpi, export etc pp. I opened working files and changed their color - before: great; afterwards: disaster.

What the hell am I doing wrong? Are these colors really such a problem? Is my installation broken in such a weird way that only this combination doesn't work?

Where else could I have made a mistake?

Please help. This is taking hours that I don't have...

Specifications:

Illustrator file (I tried AI, EPS without these CMKY addons, PNG etc.) in 1232x693, 72 or 300 dpi (tried both).

Premiere sequence is the 23.976fps, 1232x693px ...

If I export it as a PNG sequence, it is fine and crisp. But I need video files... (and I don't feel like going through AE after all this work again and the resulting file from the PNG sequence was 2 GB...)

Here are some of the videos and files (you can see, other colors are completely fine):

Any ideas?

Red is often an issue with the video color space, especially if it is a saturated red. The issue is worse with certain other colors adjacent to it. Black can be an issue because of the abrupt contrast. There are other color combinations in the video color space that can cause issues as well. And, of course, if you are rendering to an interlaced format, that will cause other issues.

Please post a screen shot of your export settings summary from the Export Settings panel, like this example below:

I just tried that Vimeo preset and it looks much better - what makes the difference here? :-

Have a look at your sequence settings -> composite in linear color is checked?

Ootherwise you might get "distorted" colors using composite video...

Yes, it is checked. I sometimes get warnings about my GPU acceleration and occasionally a bluescreen or AE crashes... might it be a hardware problem after all?

Thanks for all your help, everyone! I replaced the black with white as I just couldn't spend any more time on this issue. It got a bit better when I used that Vimeo 1080p preset, but it was still bad compared to the other combinations...
