Kerwin, maybe could it be useful in case you want to use a converter that would accept linear DNGs but no TIFFs, for instance, in case of scans...
(I guess that Jeff misread your question)

I was wondering if an equivalent to Jeffrey's tool for Lightroom is doable, or already exists for Bridge.
The company I work for could greatly improve its workflow if it was the case...

Thank you!
I wonder if during the attempt of consolidation of the two sides, if anybody claimed "ownership" of the non-english speaking fora?

Yes, I browsed it...
There is just something that I found "interesting" the mention of the non english nttp servers that would not change.. would it mean that the non-english forums would not follow the change immediately?
Thanks everybody!

Yes, there are several programs to get thumbnails of raw files, some are free, like the one John mentionned.
The thread could be cut in two at post #17.

Yes, from time to time, it is good to bump this thread. I notice that the situation is not optimal in the dutch forum, too, no separation by program, no hosts... And no clue as who owns them.

Indeed, when a country has a language that is not spoken all over the world, usually its citizens do speak English, or an "international language".
Having many fora for every language/country could lead to segment the big international community of the "english speaking" fora... I see your point.

Yes, many thanks, Neil!
It is really sad, especially since I see healthy, and well maintained fora as a good incentive for users to buy programs: they know where they could get (free) support from their peers... it is some value added to the software they want to purchase.

Don, the only POC we see on local Adobe pages are for the sales dept (contact us on top of the pages)
They don't know anything about the forum (and I tried Netherlands, France, and Belgium, to realize that the latter was forwarded to the French address).
I tried to contact Adobe Representatives at a Multimadia and Imaging show in Paris. The lady said that took my email address to give it to a ? Marketing Manager ? did not even know that there was a (partly) localized forum.
It's been more than a month, and I have not heard anything.
I wonder if we should just wait for the merging of the MM and ADBE forums to see some change...
I'd really want to have split threads abilities in the French forum, as a lot of members are posting unrelated questions in existing threads... Makes it very difficult to follow discussions.

Sorry, lack of correct terminology rendered my message hard to understand: I was speaking about the yellow "tool tips" (don't remember the proper terminology for websites- description?) that you get when you mouseover the buttons.
Yes, Adobe France should have "somebody" translate those pages, Claudio. I have not seen any complaints about it so far, but still, it looks like a half baked meal. I wish to have had the time to do as much as you did...

Ah, thanks, Claudio.
I feel that more and more french-speaking users are using the resource. Unfotunately, a lot of posts are still in the wrong forum...
I noticed recently that the text description of the Adobe site on top of the French forum is in Spanish... (productos, soluciones, soporte, comprar)
I still think that maintaining some FAQs over there might be useful, once the forums are organized by topic (and this task is increasingly difficult each day) Halas, I'm almost sure that nothing would happen, as in some day in the future, the ex-Macromedia and current Adobe forums will be merged (Unless the work done and content posted can be ported to the hopefully new interface).
Too bad what a waste of potentially free value added for Adobe, economy in customer support, etc.

The problem is that most of the members in the French forum fail to find the new topic button. Indeed, in many online forums, a "create new discussion" button is available inside a thread, but not here, the only links are "post a reply", or "back to topic list"(and this one, only in the first post).
It might be a very welcome addition in the US forums. In the French forum, it is very common to find, in a 10 posts thread, 3 different unrelated topics! I do think that native speaking hosts should be appointed in those forums.

I was half ironic, half serious in the second part of my message.
First, I'm glad that there is a way for someone here to nuke some posts. But, then, I really wonder if someone "here" still has admin powers to the localized ones, to do the suggested actions

So, someone here
does have access to the French speaking forum? I thought nobody had access anymore!
Then should we point here the threads that should be splitted, moved, etc? Could we have per-application forums, it would be way better to filter what app people have a problem with.
What about getting an FAQ set up?
