People from "the other side" are not going to be easily convinced to use conventional browsers, and people from "this side" are not too happy with what little is known for sure so far True... but since the only alternative would be for someone to rent server space and set up their own forum(s) I will GUESS that anyone who wants to ask a user to user question in an Adobe supplied forum is going to use the new software

I don't know the languages, but the new forum area DOES seem to have announcements in non-English languages http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b7c39d/ That does not, of course, mean that any new forums in any of those languages (if there ARE new forums) is going to be utilized by anyone

Sigh... now we are being told that only those who post product help have an equal voice Curt is, as he said, a very long time helper in the Premiere forum... and he even has a web site dedicate to providing ongoing Premiere help and tutorials But, since Ann evidently doesn't go to Premiere, anything Curt says doesn't count So... Ann... where is the web site you've created to help users? If you don't have one, I would say you do not have an equal voice with Curt I am REALLY looking forward to the preview forum... this yelling about what MIGHT be coming got old and tired a long time ago

Does anyone here really think Adobe is going to change their plans based on comments from... how many, a hundred people out of over a half million? Wasn't the number of forum members posted in another message... at something like 600 thousand? Whatever we may think about our own importance to forum operations, not one of use is required for Adobe's forums to operate If someone doesn't like the new forum and leaves... there will be someone else who will step forward to answer questions Yes, some knowledge may be lost... but there is always someone else with knowledge to share I hope the preview software is put on line soon, so we can all have something real to see instead of this constant speculation

If the original, somewhat loose, schedule is maintained, the new forum will be in place next Month If April is still the target, and if there is going to be a preview, I would expect it some time this month Reading here is interesting... but the actual trial will start when the preview link is given for people to see something real

I dozed off and missed 2-3 of the dances, but the previews showed the Woz as being "light on his feet" for someone 50 or so pounds overweight I have it on Tivo, so may run through to the part where my eyes closed and watch the ones I missed... the "lost hour" of going to DST always takes me a few days of adjustment My eyes opened again right about when Melissa "whoever" was on... wife and I don't watch Bachelor, so I had no idea who she was before the announcement on Dancing... but for only 2 days of practice, she did pretty good

Adobe is going to (has already, to a great extent) make decisions about these forums based on what works best for Adobe... which is not always going to please everyone who uses the forums I don't know if the low number of people posting here means most don't care, or some other reason But, for all those who have stated they are going to leave once the forum software is changed, here are a couple products for anyone who wants to rent server space and build their own forum http://www.phpbb.com/ for an open source (free) forum product or look at SMF at http://www.simplemachines.org (also free) - I have not used either, only noted from previous Dreamweaver discussions I read several Adobe forums for information... sometimes I ask a question, other times I answer when I know something... the look of the forum is not the MAIN thing, the information is

What RGC said in #63 This all started (in my time zone) on a Friday after I left work at 5pm I got home and checked the Encore and Premiere forums... and had to associate my login... and ever since, at home, I have had to log in after every time I exit my browser Here at work, where I checked the Acrobat and Photoshop forums on the following Monday... I have never had to log in It seems clear to me (as I have said before, in another thread) that my home computer had the cookies set to Zero time, which the cookies where I am now were not changed I will presume (hope!!!) that the new forum software will use persistent cookies

I would HOPE that the preview would include a place for comments, but that is, at this point, only a hope Until the preview is made available, all we are doing is talking about what MAY be available Let's wait until the preview is here, so we may then talk about what IS available Since the actual change is supposed to happen in April, I would GUESS the preview will happen some time in March

I'm not sure that "never" is a good word... there have been Adobe employees posting in various forums... just not "all" of the time I would guess that the forum people will be watching the operation of the new forum software... if nothing else, the Forum Hosts should be able to funnel comments to the software engineers As far as product support... I would not expect that to change

I don't know if Adobe ever offered a discount to update to any later version PS - I started with Premiere with version 6, which was bundled with a Pinnacle Dv500 analog to digital card... I later used that to upgrade to PPro 2 (don't remember the discounted price, but it was a good sized savings over regular retail)

I only visit one (Dreamweaver) MM forum, but have seen that it has a (useless?) link to report a message I would hope the new forum software will have such a link... sending the message to a place where any moderator may see that notice Such a process would, in my opinion, work much better than what is done (on this side) now... where someone has to copy the message address and then paste it into a spam message thread here Do you know what the reporting process will be in the new software?
