Microsoft apps, including PowerPoint, embed graphics by default when inserting and pasting. While it is possible to link to a graphic, it is not convenient. Illustrator links by default when placing, which means you need to keep track of the graphics. If you cut-and-paste, it embeds.
Personally, I would not use Illustrator for presentations when I already have PowerPoint.
Is it possible you have a copy saved on the Cloud and one locally?
One other question--you mentioned on one of your 4 near-duplicate posts that you no longer use Adobe programs. So--I'm not sure what you are looking for?
