You didn't mention your Illustrator version; presumedly it is up to date. I just updated the OS 26 and have no problems opening Ai and creating a document.  (I do not have a tablet attached since this is not my main work computer.)   ... View more

I would extend the canvas then either use the clone tool to fill in the soft edge, the eraser tool with a soft brush to remove the hard edges, or try feathering the edge. FYI--I'm still seeing this problem in Oct. 2025 with the latest (at the time of posting) InDesign and Zoom. I discovered that the feature is still there, you just can't see the content grabber. My cursor changed from the move icon when around the sides of the image to the grabber hand when I moved over the image center.    ... View more

@Ged_Traynor I was under the impression that the software "called home" in order to find out about the activation count. However, nobody is at home to answer the call anymore (activation servers are shut down).    I can't even install CS6 as part of the Creative Cloud any more since older versions are not supported. Sorry, I meant the exact version, for example: Windows 10 Pro, version 1809.  Was the system running Reader before the hard drive upgrade? If not, what are your system specs: processor, RAM, disk size, etc. If so, did you repair you OS? Did you repair permissions?   ... View more
