Does anyone know why dolby audio woudl be missing from my h264-bluray export preset (which used to create 1x .m4v and 1x ac3) however, by using AAC and selecting 5.1 I can still export dolby sound when I export a h.264 (audio and video in the one file) Obviously absolutely no use in asking adobe anything like that from the experience I have had in recent years.

I cant believe adobe would add support for 5.1 handling (causing me to remove my minnetonka audio subscription details from my computer, thinking i'll never need them again) and then within a couple of years.. totally remove it?! WHY!?!

does anyone know if the new 2018 update fixes this, in my opinion, crippling bug! I'm going to assume not but I'd rather not update based on feedback about the way it handles multiple projects, however, if it helps with the 4k screen thing I'll be instantly downloading it!

I don't know if this is taking it off topic and apologies if so but one thing that would make this bug no longer an issue for me (although still not ideal) would be to allow me to set my timeline monitor to 1080p and my output monitor to 4k so that when editing 4k footage, the real time preview I see on my second screen is native 4k where as the timeline screen is 1080p and therefore doesnt have this bug. If I do this now, the playback doesn't fit the 2nd monitor (I only see part of it) correction.. it seems this is now working for me. I updated premiere last week. Is this a new feature does anyone know?

Hi all, So I recently went through a bit of a nightmare pc upgrade that led to various components being replaced after the upgrade. The very final switch out saw my GPU changed from a 4gb to a 6gb geforce. I think it was a GTX980 previously and its now a GTX1060i. I also had my motherboard changed from a problematic Asus to a Gigabyte of similar spec. In fact both the GPU and MOBO were newer and more expensive than the ones the replaced so I expected the same performance if not a bit better. Although the issue I had previously (related to the pc starting up) is now resolved, I find my pc is massively laggy when adobe media encoder is running. It uses 99% of my CPU. Previously I always used to export and edit at the same time, but since this upgrade that is absolutely impossible. Has anyone got any ideas why this might be or what I can check in the settings?

Jim with all due respect I think you should decline to comment further on this one solely because everyone else wants this bug (because thats what it is) resolved where as you want us to use 90" monitors. Premiere should be able to work with scaling because it is an integral part of windows.

Agreed Ana_bee. "Use a bigger monitor" is not the answer (or even remotely helpful) in this situation. I just feel we get nowhere with Adobe's support and bug reporting process that we just have to give up and accept that the software doesn't work properly.

the issue is ana_bee, I'm not editing 4k footage. I'm editing 1080p footage in a 1080p timeline with my monitors displaying premiere pro in 4k resolution. I also have the video on a lightning fast PCI-E ssd and the cache files on a dedicated similarly fast m.2 ssd so it's definitely an issue with premiere (unless it's a faulty component but they're all brand new after an upgrade and have been fully tested)

i'm not sure if anyone else experiences this also but when set to 4k resolutions and exporting in adobe media encoder i am unable to simultaneously edit. Nativating and moving around the timeline is hugely slugging and jerky where as if I set it to 1080p resolution, navigation is smooth and I can edit fine. I'm considering selling my 4k monitors and going back to 1080p as premiere is just not made for 4k which is madness considering its a video editing suite!!

It should work with any USB connected as far as I'm concerned. Why would you never boot with a USB hub? Just because you don't have one? I'm talking about the USB hubs required to use a monitors USB ports for example.

I've just replaced my pc with an iMac and I like OSX so much that I'm now looking at replacing my laptop with a macbook pro. I have just watched an adobe video about the new ingest settings for proxies and I was wondering what would be your workflow possibly involving creative cloud in order to edit using proxies on the macbook pro and then resume editing on the imac using the original files (then jump between the two when I like) I'm sure it must be possible but I just cant work out how I'd do it with the proxies as when I open the project from the macbook where I've been editing using proxies it will look for the .mov proxies and not find them as I wil only have the (correspondingly named) .mp4 files on the imac. thanks guys the multiband compressor is now doing for me what the old dynamics effect did. Has anyone worked out how to stop the strange bending of the keyframe lines when using the parametric equaliser? Say if I wanted to get to 2k and then reduce the level by -20db for everything after that point. The line should surely be straight curve down to -20db and then straight all the way to the end. When I try to use this I just get something resembling speed humps..

thanks cculp2016. I've played arround with MultiBandCompressor but still cant get it to do what I used to do with dynamics in a couple of clicks! I just want to be able to amplify a clip by whatever dB I like and know that the limiter wont let the output volume of that file go past what i set it to (usually -3dB for dialogue) just to prevent me seeing the little red clipping in the audio meters when editing. I've played around with the settings but cant seem to achieve this.. any tips?

thanks Guys. firetrak thats what I suspected to be honest. I'm going for an 8 core i7, 64gb ddr4 ram, and a pci-e ssd for project files, high speed ssd for cache and my existing ssd for OS so I think everything else will hopefully be up to spec. Sound card and gpu are the 2 things I'm unsure of, I think I might go ahead with the upgrade and keep my existing GPU and sound card as you suggest and then maybe spend some more time researching. To be honest the 660ti has never let me down and it works well with my monitor setup having 2x DVI and 1x HDMI outs.
