I am losing rendered multicam audio in Premiere Pro every time I restart Premiere. I am running Premiere Pro 2018 12.1.1 on 10.12.6 Sierra, and every time I restart premiere I lose all the rendered audio and waveforms in Premiere Pro with multicam clips, all I see is a red line through the audio, and I have to render them again. This has to be a bug and is incredibly frustrating, especially when working with a significant amount of clips as it is a long render.

Yea at first I thought I was doing something wrong, or it was a Ventura issue with Mac, but I only see it in Adobe Apps, and I do it so often to change the name of files, that it gets me every time.

I tried upgrading to Ventura 13.0.1 and the problem still persists. I can export the same as Timeline in MOV, but when I try and do H.264 It no tonly crashed, but the whole computer just shuts down.

Premiere Pro 23.0 (build 63) on Mac os 12.6 on iMac Pro 3GHZ 10-Core Intel Xeon 64 GB of Memory and Radeon Pro Vega 64x 16GB. I can export a ProRES HQ which is what the timeline render is set at, but if I try and export an H.264 it not only crashes, but crashed my whole computer. The computer just shuts off. I have included a crash log.

I love this. I have gotten used to how it us, but since I put like clips in tracks, i basically always want to padte into the same track. And I love that you can do it both ways.

I have personally been given 120 or 240 footage quite a few times, and it is often necessary to recompress the footage into the codec you are using, then import the footage and re-interpret it to the proper frame rate. Why should you not be able to recompress footage at it's original frame rate and not have it actually remove frames? Compressor will recompress 120 footage without a problem. Why shouldn't media encoder, especially when it works just fine in Media Encoder 2019, but was seemingly limited in 2020. Off the total topic, but you can "unmerge clips" by exporting and XML and re-importing it, then cut that audio back into your sequence and the clips are "unmerged." So the unmerge data is still there. And I do see that it could be in the simplify sequence, as it is prepping the sequence to export, it is just prepping the audio for export (though really they should just fix how the merge clip functions and not break the original audio timecode.

So I was quite excited when I saw that Adobe Premeire Pro 2022 had added Color Management for H.264 and HEVC. I was hoping it was like what you can do in DaVinci Resolve, to proper Metadata tags to exported clips so they display correctly even on a mac with it's messed up gamma. In DaVinci is I add a Gamma 2.4 tag to my exported H.264 master I get a movie that plays back correctly even in Quicktime, which is so damn important for clients who don't want to open the clips in VLC to see them correctly. Unfortunately when I export an H.264 from 2022, it looks exactly the same as an export from 2021. I looked at the info on my videos in quicktime and they are exactly the same on info. Both 2021 and 2022 export the clip with info that looks like this, and still has the gammas shifts. Conversely a video file from DaVinci with the correct Gamma 2.4 tag that does show correctly in Quicktime looks like this: I don't know what Adobe did about their color management in H.264 but unless I am missing something (which is possible) it doesn't seem to do what it says, which is really unfortunate.

This would be an amazing place to un-merge clips as well as multi-cam clips. There needs to be a better way to un-merge clios than exporting an xml and re-impirting it. Otherwise just fix the merge clips audio metadata thing so a mixer can link back to the correct original footage!

I also tried creating a new sequence with a different name, and copy and pasted the contents of the sequence that didn't work and tried that, but it had the exact same issue. It seemed to go through the entire process and then freeze at the final stage. And now when trying another sequence in the same project with the same footage and audio, which before the sequence failed, I am not able to get any transciptions. Dissapointing.

I tried a test, I selected one of the audio mix track and exported it as a 16 bit 48hz WAV and imported that back in, and then used that to run the auto transcription, and the transcription froze at the same point, so it isn't the 24 bit audio.

Steps to reproduce: 1. ...Works on some sequences but on others that have exact same media and audio get to end and freeze. All sequences are 1920x1080 23.976p ProRes 422 HQ, media is ProRes 4444, audio is 48hz 24 bit 4 track mono wav files, goes through the whole process of Creating Auto Transciption and freezes at what seems like finished I open sequuence in Captions and click transcribe Result: ... no transcription Expected: ...Transciption as works with other sequences. Just started on a job and am using the trancription feature and am blown away so far. My biggest question has to do with the plain text export, which is awesome (though only seems to work on the beta and not the release version), but I would love to be able to have the timecode in that text file as it is in the trasnscript and the option for speakers to be listed especially with multiple speakers.

Yea the export to text works for me in the beta, but not in the normal 2021. It is great, though I also wish it had the speakers listed as well instead of just the text.

Well you are licensed for the current and the previous so 15.0 and 14.9, if it won't let you install 14.9 there is something wrong, which is why I mentioned the Cleaner Utility, as it might fix that issue. Then you need to contact Adobe and see if they will give you a 14.3 link.

Your creative Cloud membership only allows for the 2 latest versions that you are licensed for. So for Premiere the creative cloud allows for 15.0 and 14.9. If none of them are showing up, I might try the Adobe Cleaner tool and wipe out everything, then re-install. https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html For earlier versions you can try contacting support to see if they will send you a link to an older version. Also ProDesign tools tries to keep links to recent versions and it has back to 2019 which should be 13.15, so maybe has has a link to 14.3. You should be able to do more with the original footage than the proxies. I would just bet the proxies just color shifted lighter, but the original footage should have more latitude than the proxies.

Yes turn off the Proxies when color correcting. That is finishing work and should be done on full resolution. I believe in using the least compression possible, and H.264 is always very processor intensive and in my experience can cause crashes. I always go for ProRES proxies. Sure they take more space, but the added stability has always helped me out. What is the footage from? Have you looked at the original in VLC to see if it looks the darker or not?

Yea the Cleanup Tool is an amazing thing, it can fix issues like this. It is a pain as literally everything is gone, but for issues like this it can fix it, and is worth a try.

Well you should never expect your proxies to be color accurate. And are you using H264 or ProRES proxies? I never touch H264 in my projects. The thing if your footage outside of premiere is probably seeing the gamma shift, so the original footage in the source monitor is correct as is the export.

Yea it wouldn't do anything for export, just supposed to bring the display closer to correct (if your display is set correclty or as correctly as a P3 display can be set). And software encoder should be better quality, but slower. What are the timeline settings? What are you rendering as? Have you tried exporting a full rez versions? Also have you tried color balancing your display? Maybe it is off as well.

I have an iMac Pro 3GZ 10 core, 64 gigs of RAM and Radeon pro VEGA 64x 16GB, not the same machine, but mine runs great. I also always use SwitchRezX. I know high DPI displays look pretty and all, but to get high DPI you are literally rendering your display twice, using up twice the ram it should, so I run my iMac display and external display at 2560x1400 to save on Video Ram and it runs great.

So you delete the cache, so also the prefs? Have you tried opening a clean project and copying everything into that. Have you tried deleting your renders? Have you tried opening the project in a different version just to see (the beta and current use the same project file). Oh yea and what is the footage, size and compression?

You try the complete Uninstall tool. Maybe there is something in there that is blocking it. Don't use if you have older versions of anything you want to keep aroun das you can currently only install the current and previous versions of apps, but if you are just going for the current versions it could help.
