It did play in the Interactive PDF. Looked great. Minus the missing pages. I did not think they were supported either. But it seems like they may quasi be with interactive PDFs.

Ok so the EPUB thing did not work either. Oh well. I will keep it as the normal Adobe PDF. But wish I knew the deal was with the export to Interactive PDF. As that would have been nicer.

Nope... just using the export function under file.....no printing involved. That would have made me die if I had printed it and pages were missing. So I am trying to do a test now as saving as an EPUB. No clue if that will allow for the animation.... have to see. If not then I stick to the normal Adobe PDF.

I think I may know the issue now.... but still I do not think it should skip pages. In one of the documents I created, it included an animation. Thus I was exporting it as an Interactive PDF. This way it would show the animation. Seemed like a good thought. When I then exported it as normal Adobe PDF all the pages were exported. I found this to be odd.... as I would think both should export all pages. Something was amiss..... I guess I will have to show the animation separately. Which is ok... but would have been much more cooler to appear in the presentation.

For some reason InDesign is not exporting all the pages in two projects. I have no idea, what is happening as I have never run into this problem. It is only exporting half of the pages. Any ideas why this occurring and how to solve it?

Ahhh.... ok. Anyways, those links are really helpful when it comes to design as well and they are part of an free Adobe course series! I think if anything I would keep things in MicrosoftWord then as you can at least save as PDF that is searchable by the algorithms that many companies utilize. Unless you want to get insanely creative with it, then go for Photoshop. Or download the 7 day trial of InDesign and give it a go. At least then you will have 7 days to create a proper resume. The trial is free and doesn't hurt to use. In fact, learning InDesing will only help you in the long run. I remember wanting to use Photoshop for everything.... then I started branching out and using other Adobe software. Give the trial a shot.

It is a process.... you can learn several ways to do something in Photoshop and Illustrator and then later on learn yet another way. These programs are amazing and you will constantly learn from them even as a PRO... you can constantly learn new tricks or ways to do things. Just experiment and remember to have fun!

Oh one other word of advice. When creating a CV/Resume... sometimes it is good to have a plain text version done in Word. I saw you mentioned that some companies have keyword searches or algorithms that enable them to sift through CVs/Resumes. Thus, fancy resume do not read correctly for their systems. Example, when a Job page asks to import my CV and auto fill in the blanks.... my fancy CV/Resume never works. So what I do is input everything by hand and then at then end when it asks for attachments... I upload my fancy CV/Resume that was created in InDesign there. Also, some job pages allow you to link your LinkedIn profile, which also fills things out perfectly. So then you can just upload the fancy version of your CV/Resume as an attachment.

ALSO.... If you use a template... make sure you change it a little bit. Think about it this way.... If you are a recruiter, HR manger or Hiring Manager... you will see the same template over and over and over again. So... if you use a template, then do something to make the design unique. Never copy one exactly. Second thing make sure you adjust your CV/Resume to which ever country you are sending it to. Example, some European countries want your photo. Strange and crazy for an American as we would be totally against that. But here if you do not follow their rules, then they will look at you funny. So know the rules for what ever company you are applying to.

Just realized you can open up a new document with out the art board. Normally it does not give you the Transparent option. But if you click Advanced Options.... then click back on Background Contents..... the TRANSPARENT option reappears! They should just give you the option for a Transparent Background without having to do that. I prefer Transparent as well.

Sometimes you can not really get rid of the graininess. I shot models in an old factory, lights, flash, everything. Still got a fine graininess. Which was fine as that worked with the imagery that I was creating. But yeah, I feel your pain on this. Sometimes it happens and you simply have to reshoot. You can tool around and kind of clear it up a little, but depending on how bad the grain is.... you may or may not be able to really compensate for it. Or at least that is from my experience.

Wouldn't that stretch it if you resize to fit? Or am I just being silly. For me another way to do it is to go to IMAGE > IMAGE SIZE, then a window pops up. There you can change the size of the image and the dpi/resolution.

1. Really depends on how you want to change a path. As there are various ways. The Direct Selection Tool allows you to pick a point and move it around. Under Pen Tools there is the Anchor Point Tool that allows you to manipulate the curve of a path by playing with individual points. There are several other ways..... We just need to know what you want to do. 2. To change the color.... use the Selection Tool to select an object. The go to the bottom of the tool bar, there you have the main color and outline color. You can click either of these to manipulate the color of an object. You can also use the Selection Tool and then the Gradient Tool to add a gradient fill to an object. Again it all depends on what your end goal is.

I have to agree.... it is something you have to experiment with. I liked it more when it was Live Trace. No idea why they changed it. I think with a little experimentation it can be really useful depending on what you are doing. Theoretically you could take a few elements from an image into Illustrator use Image Trace to turn them into a Vector with several shades of black and white. Then bring it back into Photoshop, play with the plug-ins to give it more of a pencil feel or sketch look. For some projects I bounce things back and forth to achieve a certain look. Which for the most part is ok as things can go from Photoshop to Illustrator with ease. Of course I did learn that if I am adding gradients or drop shadows in Illustrator everything should be in one main Layer Folder before copying them into Photoshop. Noticed that gradients and shading can get a little 'wonky' if that is not done. But I think even by experimenting you might achieve a new effect that no one else has really seen before and one could create a very interesting image. The thing I like about Photoshop and Illustrator is you can always learn new techniques. I have been using Photoshop since 1994, and I still learn new things!

Breaking up an image when creating a graphic can really make a difference. Example.... when I use Image Trace (formerly Live Trace), sometimes I will work on the dark areas of an image separately then work on the light. Because working with the whole image at one time does not always look good. Then I just combine the final parts to create the image. Actually if you have not played around with Image Trace you might love it. Try placing an image in Illustrator. Then go to Windows and select Image Trace. That will pull up a window with adjustments that you can test out. It can lead to some really nifty results.

Monika, I know. I was simply being friendly and explaining how I bring a creation in from Illustrator to Powerpoint or Google Docs. I hope you are not taking my comment personally, I was only trying to share. I create a lot of vectors to share in presentations when I speak at conferences. It is a work around. And I think I know that PNG is not a vector. It is just one of the many ways to accomplish a task. Please do not take my comment personally.

I agree with Monika... Photoshop is the way to go. Just make your sure resolution is set to the desired size you want or need. There are several plugins that can give an image a pencil look and even painted look. Then there are additional plugins you can download on the net. Sometimes you might copy parts of an image into different layers and then transform parts of it at a time using a plugin. That will give you more control. For instance say I am transforming a statue on a pedestal into a pencil or painted look. I might select the statue first as it could be a lighter color. Then copy that into a new layer and toy around with the plugins. Then I would do the same with the pedestal or base. Same goes with a building. Doing parts of it at a time can give it a more unique look. Just an idea for you to experiment with.

This is what I do when bringing graphics into Powerpoint or Google Slides. First in Illustrator I choose SELECT ALL and then copy it. I open up a new Photoshop document with a transparent background. Depending on the size needed that may vary. I then paste the graphic I copied from Illustrator to Photoshop, and choose to place it as a Smart Object. I then save it as PNG. Then in Powerpoint or Google Slides, I choose that PNG and bring it in. Then I adjust the size to fill the frame of the slide however I like. Granted these can not be changed directly in Powerpoint or Google Slides. If I need to change something I just follow the same process. But I try my best not to make mistakes and proof everything as I go through each stage.

This all depends on the template. As all templates are set up differently. Look at the templates I used for this illustration. https://kennshinabery.myportfolio.com/ntendo The way these templates were set up... is that the image on the shirt was a smart layer. So when I double clicked on the image layer, it would open up a new window with that graphic. I then replaced the template logo to my graphic. When I hit save the image on the template would change to my logo. Same thing for the tags... and even the picture frame. But again this all depends on the template you downloaded. Also make sure the template is unzipped!!!!! Sometimes in these templates there is a layer where you can change the color of the shirt. Sometimes that is separate from the image/logo layer, sometimes it is not. You really have to play with each template to see how they are set up. If you share the link to the template you are using we can toy with it and explain how that particular template works.

There are a lot of ways to do this. Open up the desired image. Duplicate the image. Then in a new layer type something (make sure the font size is as big as you want it (really depends on the image. You can decrease the opacity and move the text around so that you find the way you prefer the image to line up. Then use the Magic Wand to select every letter of the text. Once selected you can hid that layer. Go to the duplicate photo layer and then hit select inverse and then hit delete. Then crop the text however you like. You can then delete the original photo layer and the text layer. Save it as a PNG so the background is invisible.

I have to agree with NB.... Maybe your mode is set to Greyscale. Depending if it is print or for media then it should be set to RGB or CMYK. That will probably solve your issue.

I was only being general. Yes if you have RAW images they will upload directly into Camera RAW. The point that I am making... is that you will not get a smooth tone because of the bright sun on their faces. It can not easily be fixed. Now maybe if a person is a pro retoucher he or she can go in and paint the area and use the tools properly to fix that. But most average users can not probably make this adjustment. The sun is simply too harsh. So just take the part of what I said about shooting when there is no harsh sunlight hitting a person's face. Another example... is I always avoid shooting models outside around noon and 1pm... simply because the sun is usually shining from above at that time which produces dark shadows under the eyes and nose of my subject. That can be corrected with a bounce sometimes.... but not always. So I always try to shoot outside during optimal conditions (which may or may not always be possible depending on what you are shooting).

I think that many of you will find this interesting and even beneficial. Not to long ago I was an instructor on the Adobe Generation Professional course entitled Digital Me. In this course we discussed how to promote and market one's self. A important part of doing this is creating a CV/Resume. There are many ways to do this, in this lecture I do a live demo of how one can create a CV/Resume using Adobe InDesign. The entire class is an hour, but my live demo starts around the 29 minute point. I think some of you will find this interesting and unique.... as I feel ever creative professional wants to learn how to create a great CV. Adobe Generation Professional_Class Digi me (Euro) With that being said, if you use my idea or find a template online... always make the design unique. Hiring Managers and Human Resource people see CVs/Resumes on a daily basis... so they know when they see a cookie cutter template. So if you ever use a template or an idea that you find online... tweak it to make it more unique and personal. Do not use the template exactly.... be creative with it.
