This is usually not possible usiong ASIO drivers My audio interface is an RME which means that I am able to reroute audio wherever I want so this is not an issue for me. However, there is an application which apparently adds additional functionality using ASIO drivers that should allow you to do what you want. Is the combined file stereo or mono? "The files on the memory card were saying one was 1GB and the other was 0KB. But in Disk Utility, it says there's 2GB taken up on the card." It sounds to me like the 2nd wav file didn't get closed properly which means that while the space has been used on the USB drive the header file of the wav file has not been written to the file. This can probably be fixed by someone with a hex editor and some patience. You would need to isolate the raw audio from the used disk space (there is probably an existing utility for this somewhere) and adding the wav header (based on the wav header of the existing audio). Don't even think about doing this without making several image copies of the USB drive. ... View more

Not sure how you are doing it but the way I would do it would be to create a multitrack session and place all your files on different tracks then either split the sections you want and drag to a new track or select the sections and alt drag the clip to a new track. The result will be a track containing the clips/audio sections that you want which you can xfade or whatever. It should already be doing that. Audition's working format is wav, so using the 'Save' command is always going to result in a wav file, because that's what everything is decoded and opened as, if it isn't one already. 'Save As' should remember the last format you used. Are you saving from the waveform view or the multitrack? ... View more

Yep "Track 2_002.wav" is certainly corrupted so if you do have a copy or the original master file now would be the time to bring that out (after making a copy). As SteveG suggests the cause could be hard disk related so backup often and if you have a 2nd internal hard drive maybe save there Too late now but the original error message would certainly have helped give a clue as to the cause ... You really haven't given us too much detail about your audio hardware and setup. Best thing would be to go to Edit > Preferences > Audio Hardware (as well as Audio Channel Mapping) to make sure that your audio interface is selected and the mic inputs are set appropriately and that you are recording from the appropriately selected input channel ...
