If you are using a U87 in a treated environment I wouldn't think that you would need anything more than a little compression (perhaps), the Audition parametric EQ, a touch of reverb and possibly a little delay if required But that's just me - each to their own

Make sure your audio interface is set to 44.1 and/or your multitrack session in Audition (if applicable) Bottom line is that your audio interface, Audition session and your wav should all be the same sample rate

I don't see any attachments? I see you are on a Mac Try using whatever the equivalent of Explorer is (Finder?) and create a folder (use a simple name with no spaces for now) then try and create a folder with the same name in the same location Does it let you do it?

Assuming you are on a PC (if not do steps 1 to 4 and send the 2 sesx files to me info@aatranslator.com.au I'll send the results back and you continue on from step 7) What I would probably do is this... 1. Make a complete backup of your Audition session and put it somewhere safe 2. Make a backup of your Premiere session and put it somewhere safe 3. Send everything from Premiere to Audition again 4. Rename one of or both of the sesx files 5. Download and install sesx2sesx 6. Using Ses2Sesx combine the two sessions 7. Remove all the unwanted bits 8. Redo the two missing clips

Have you looked to see if there is a backup in the session backup subfolder (assuming you save your backups locally)? Edit: Were you editing in multitrack or wavform view?

I would suggest looking at the audio interface settings on the Mac (I can't help you there as most Macs I come in contact with come with a coke & fries). It just seems to me that the mic is picking up and replaying what it is recording - how are you monitoring what you are recording?

If you drag that 44.1k file into a 48k session Audition will make a copy and resample it and it will also look and play fine so this is more a MOTU issue I suspect Either way it is always best to have your audio interface and Audition session all set to the same sample rate

You can use all sorts of fx for 'mastering' a track which won't affect the original providing you are in multitrack view Generally compression and/or equalisation are some of the fx you might use There really is no automatic solution you just need to use your ears as they really are the best thing in this situation

Go to Edit > Preferences > Audio Hardware Make sure 'Attempt to force hardware to document sample rate' option is selected Select 'settings' button That should allow you to change your audio interface sample rate to the same as your Audition session sample rate. You should also be using an ASIO driver for your interface If none of that helps then you probably need to start supplying some details as to your hardware and OS setup so we can hopefully advise further

I see that you had created a mono session which makes sense that there is no pan option I guess. I have edited the sesx and returned it as a stereo one so it should all work fine now

I checked out the session and there was nothing obvious. I then spent a fair bit of time drilling down but I'm certain that there are no clips where the clip size exceeds the audio duration. My suspicion is that when Audition is creating the media to be encapsulated (aif or wav) and trimming to clip size plus handles that is where it turns to custard. I then did further digging and testing tono avail. I ended up converting the sesx to a PT session and sending that

Chances are that the problem is exactly what the message says but it is way too hard to advise without looking at both the sesx file and the media. I'm pretty sure that the informative message is pretty clear that encapsulated stereo media is not supported by Audition so when you say "Audition does not open OMF correctly' it is not really accurate. While you CAN embed a poly channel media file into an OMF no DAW in its right mind will or should do it. From memory only Sonar, Steinberg and Media Composer will allow you to do it and then it is more good luck than good management finding another DAW to open them correctly. Which DAW created the OMF?

As I indicated in my email.... The problem is the Speech Volume Leveler settings Essentially this is just a compressor and what you are doing with these settings is limiting the overall level to -18db and increasing the gain (levelling amount) by 80% (whatever that means) The end affect is that the noise floor is being increased by a huge amount which is the noise you are hearing. If you are going to use this effect you need to probably select the ‘careful’ or ‘soft’ preset but if it was me I would just use a compressor where the settings are more obvious (to me anyway).
