Firstly, the camera colour profiles are irrelevant. For raw files, LR ignores that setting and works internally with the ProPhoto colour profile. This sounds like a long-standing bug where Lightroom is only able to display a limited number of lines in the panels. Everything beyond that number just doesn't show. Until Adobe fixes the problem, you'll just have to close the Folders panel when you need to interact with the panels below it. Or you could close some of the higher-level folders (if they're in a hierarchy) to shorten the number of lines that display.

When the folders panel shows, can you scroll down to get to the Collections and Publish Services panels? I'm thinking that having the Folders showing moves the two missing panels down the screen to where you need to scroll to get to them. Hal

It could be that Classic pushes your hardware hard enough to uncover a weakness, and the previous version did not. Paige is right: BSODs are never caused by software. They are always, always a result of hardware problems or bad drivers. The next time you get a BSOD, find a program on the web that will interpret it for you. Lars, On your Win 8.1 machine, you need to go to the Performance tab of Preferences and turn off the checkbox for Use Graphics Processor. On Win 10, you probably have a corrupt monitor profile. If you don't have a hardware calibrator, try setting the default profile to sRGB until you do get one. Hal

All the local adjustment tools work the same way. If you change the sliders before you apply the filter or brush, the position of the sliders becomes the new default. So go into the Radial Filter, set all the sliders to zero, and then draw the ellipse on the image. All future RF's will start out with the sliders zeroed.

It is that simple. With LR closed look in the same folder with your Lightroom catalogue and find the file that ends in a '.lock' extension. Delete that file. Then open Lightroom. The .lock file is created when LR opens, and it's deleted when LR closes normally. Lightroom uses the file's existence to know if LR is already running against that catalogue. When your system crashed, the file wasn't deleted properly, so LR figures the catalogue is in use.

BSoDs are always caused by either faulty hardware or faulty drivers. Test your memory. Open the case and make sure that all your fans are running and that the inside is dust-free. There are free programs that will analyze a BSOD and give you an hint as to where to look. Hal

You're allowed to run LR on two machines (although not simultaneously), so running the CC version on both machines will solve your problem.
