Hi Cathyg, I'm going to assume that the software-interface you are using is from the Fujitsu and even though you are scanning directly into Acrobat, the actual software being used is Fujitsu's software. Similar to when you print, you are using the printer drivers for your printer. I cannot see any mechanism that this would be from Acrobat. My gut feeling is that it's Fujitsu's software and/or an interaction between that and your OS. OR an interaction between Fujitsu software, your OS AND Acrobat. Very hard to pin down because of so many possibilities. One thing I'd suggest is to try to scan directly via Fujitsu's software and leave out Acrobat and see what happens. If, after some 50+ pages and nothing happens, than it could be Acrobat. If something happens, it seems like there is an Acrobat interaction somewhere. FWIW, when I did my Fujitsu scanning (it was with a borrowed unit, I do not own one). I was scanning directly using the Fujitsu software into my hard drive. The Fujitsu software was automatically doing the OCR at the time. HOWEVER, If found the quality of the OCR to be poor, and more importantly I found the (storage) size of the documents were significantly larger than if OCRed by Acrobat. So, what I did was to scan away and then later I would open Acrobat up and OCR the folder I had just scanned. I'd do this when I stopped for lunch or a break or something*. Wait, I just thought of something: I wonder if the rate of the scanning is faster than Acrobat can keep up and any cache is not sufficient to hold the document until it can be OCRed. I wonder if that could be the problem and when Acrobat becomes too overwhelmed, it says "Bleep, just move on I'll get the next one..." I'm totally guessing at this but my thought in the paragraph above this might provide some thoughts. * The reason why I did the Acrobat-OCRing during my break is that "good" simply takes longer. One of the very annoying things about Acrobat when it's OCRing a long document is that it keeps on popping up and interrupting anything else you might be doing to let you know it's starting a new page. It was this issue that made me wonder if the blank page is being caused by Acrobat being overwhelmed by the rate at which the Fujitsu scanner was delivering pages. I'm going away for about a week tomorrow and may not be able to respond in an efficient manner during that time. I will try to respond but probably only in the evenings when I can. Good luck. Let me know what happens.
