Thanks for the info! I downloaded the latest video driver today installed and rebooted and had the same problem with other projects. I guess I'll just start all my renderings afresh. Its those slow motion 4 k ones with optical flow that are the time killers. Speaking of time killers maybe its the format? I'm shooting them in MP4 (LPCM) 50p  birtrate:150 mps. There are a lot of choices (C4k, 4K LPCM Mp4 4K, FHD 50p all-i, etc.). This might be another thread. But what would be the quickest to render and edit in 4 k? I like to do a lot of slow motion and move the frame around in my 1080p sequences.  ... Ver mais

I just updated my video card NVIDIA software (for a GTX 1660 6 gb card) and now the Mercury engine is on. But I opened a new project and now also have the same problem as the last project - no renderings attached (....how does one tell is if the media caches ate still attached?). I am rendering 6 minutes of various bit rate 4K footage on a 1080p timeline, and its taking over 2 hours! There are a few short bits where the timeline is using the optical flow on slo mo, but this speed is ridiculous. It used to take 15 minutes. It is not worth it upgrading to the new Premiere 2019 at this cost...or is it?  Any suggestions? ... Ver mais

Sorry, you are correct. The CC cloud box kept automatically popping up suggesting upgrades, so I finally did. Why do they always ask to upgrade 2 versions of the software?  ...perhaps in order to wait to see if the bugs have been removed on one's computer configuration for the latest version, so if there are problems then one can return to the old one without a hitch? In that case, I think I'll have to do that since 2019 is not working for me wit these renderings...but I haven't given up yet. . ... Ver mais

I uninstalled the program as per instructions https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html it says;  “From the menu in the upper-right corner of the script window, select the version of the application you want to remove. Press Return.” I selected 3, and the next try, I selected 1: “all”, then I received a screen that asked for the name of the product. Premiere was not on the list (probably since it had been uninstalled as the instructions state to do first?)  I attached screen save images of the process. ... Ver mais

Thanks. I never had such a problem. I just tired it twice uninstall/cleanup. Reboot. Reinstall....and then deleting all Premier files I could find during a "Wise Jetsearch" search on the C drive.  after many hours of work...the problem remains. After 1.5 hours on hold to an Adobe specialist, they told me to do the same, then sent this me note: You contacted us 6/20/2018 4:46 AM about PPRO issue . "Please reply to this email or login to your Adobe account to find instructions and view your case. Your case will automatically be closed after 4 days if you don’t respond. Thanks! I updated the latest driver and then tried earlier ones. Premiere has been working fine for months, and many days after the new version was installed so its a mystery why this happened suddenly yesterday. But I'm now reinstalling. I deleted all preferences (though I didn't reboot). I'm alos downloading the cleaner tool. (BTW I'm still on hold to Adobe phone help for 70 minutes so far, and 20 minutes on hold on the on-line chat line!) ... Ver mais

My Premiere Pro has been rendered useless for no apparent reason, and I cannot find an answer anywhere. I deleted all cache files as recommended on on forum. Ahh! That's it! It will only "nest" with the little line through the icon for "Insert and overwrite sequences as nests or individual clips" is on - as in the illustration above. Thanks! ... Ver mais

I just noticed that when I try to nest a sequence into another with a different settings it brings in all the clips, not the sequence as a single entity. I cannot nest the sequence. ... Ver mais

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! I still am wondering why the "V1"  button on the insert overwrite column is usually turned off. (It was not obvious since by default it was turned off; it took me quite awhile to discover that this was the glitch). Just now, I dragged a clip into a timeline, and a note popped up saying "no content in sequence In/Out range". I turned the the "V"  button on the insert overwrite column on V1  and only then was it able to insert. (The V2 an d V3 were on, but it failed to insert except when I clicked on V1.) ... Ver mais

I found the problem, and the solution! The "V" (video) button on the insert overwrite column was not turned on (not blue). Only the "A" (audio) button was. It seem that this was the default on most of my timeline/sequences. I clicked on it so that it turned blue and it works (inserts, dragging the clip onto the timeline and overwrites). ... Ver mais

Sorry, I meant the "Project Window". I now have many dozens of videos imported (using the "file>import from Explorer" method into the project window, which I find easier). I am hoping not to re-import them all. But it doesn't seem to make any difference which method I use. I still cannot drag a 4k video onto a 1080p sequence. Any suggestions? ... Ver mais

Thanks! I decided to stick to a PAL camera (a Panasonic HC-X1000) since it is a hassle to use optical flow and then to cut out all transitions - which makes a reasonable conversion. One other related question: Perhaps using 60p (with more frames per second) might work better for slow motion using your technique while bringing it into into a PAL timeline? or is there little noticeable difference between 50p and 60p when usinf at 25% for slow motion? ... Ann, a festival in Australia (Channels) recently asked me to convert a video from 25p to 24p. Jim, I don't think my problem is that the footage is interpreted incorrectly. I simply need to get rid of choppiness when going from 50p or 25p to 24p. It was solved by using optical flow (though I need to cut out all transitions and process them normally since optical flow does weird things to transitions). However I do have an occasional footage problem. When I used to bring in different footage into a timeline -say dragging a 4k clip into 1080p sequence, it would come in fine (but it would ask to convert the sequence if another clip is not on the timeline). On the latest Premiere, only the audio comes in. I can no longer drag a 4k video onto a 1080p timeline, or a 90 fps go pro video clip onto a 25p timeline. I only can copy and paste such a clip from its own timeline into the smaller resolution or slower spreed sequence. ...but maybe this problem needs a new thread? ... Ver mais

I converted one file to 24  fps because of one film festivals that I screened it, required it - so I thought that perhaps this frame rate was becoming a world standard (and I had read that it was "the new standard"). That said, it was only one of dozens that I applied for last year (and 4 that I got into). It was a pain to convert it from 50/25 to 24 (cutting out all transitions while using an optical flow elsewhere). But I think I decided to go with the on that does 50p to be constant with my other cameras. Thanks for your advice! ... Ver mais
