Okay, I give up. I'm a relatively new escapee from Lightroom, have been enjoying Bridge/ACR for a few months but CANNOT for the life of me figure out how to exit before/after view in ACR. Please explain how to return to full view of my image - not before/after. Esc shuts down ACR and sends me back to Bridge. Enter doesn't do anything. I simply want to exit before/after mode and get back to the basic panel. Thank you. Win 10, CC2019

Okay, I think I have the answer. The Ps logo on the file is simply the software associated with opening it. I spoke at length with Canon, downloaded the Canon utility, and now the logo on the file no longer says Ps. I think I have a better understanding of it all now. Thank you.

I've had my EOS R for about a month. I just noticed, when organizing my folders, that all of my CS3 files are Ps files. Previously, with my 5D MKII, my files are all normal CS2 files that open with my browser. The Ps files trigger Photoshop to open. I'm concerned because what if I someday bail on Photoshop. It was my understanding, even with a subscription, that I own my files? I don't think I'll be able to open these files if I don't have Photoshop! Please advise. Thank you! Windows 10, CC2019

Hi. I can turn on preview mode with the tool at the bottom of the tool bar, and I can turn it off with W key. I'm sure I used to be able to toggle between preview and normal with the W key, but now it doesn't work. W only turns off preview, not on. Please help. Thanks. (Win 10, CC2019)

Came home with the EOS R the other day, love it so far, but disappointed to see no thumbnail previews when getting files via Bridge, only an icon. Please advise. I really need those previews to help me stay organized. I'm on CC, updated yesterday, 9/26. Thanks.

Ha! Yes, I've gone back and made a test document and that's exactly what happened, apparently. Without knowing it, I applied black to the page (inside trim lines), not to the document. (I was concerned about the blank bleed area but was told it would be taken care of at export) Long-time PS user, first time InDesign user 🙂 I exported my test pdf and it was perfect. I was so confused - I didn't understand why I needed to select some random black background for my pdf after I had so carefully chosen my black background, according to the numbers, to match my photo canvases. In a strange, sick way, I'm glad I made this mistake - I learned a lot from it. Now, on to rebuilding my document from the ground up. Correctly. Thanks.

Hi. Thanks for your response. I understand what you're saying, but to the best of my knowledge, I did set my document up with black layer. On the master page, I created a rectangle and filled it with black (a specific black to match the canvas on my photos), and filled the rectangle. I then built my document, page by page on top of that layer. Did I do something wrong here?

HI. I've created a book in InDesign, a book primarily of photos, with some text, all on a black background. When I export it from InDesign as a PDF, the pages show as white. The photos show but the text (in white) of course, does not show. I have gone into Edit>preferences and changed the background color to black. Sometimes it works and the document shows up correctly, and sometimes I get a black overlay over the entire (136pp) document. I can see the shadow of the content through the black and when I scroll down, a little thumbnail with the correct version of the document will appear as I skim by every page, but I can't get rid of the black overlay. I thought I had one good version, uploaded it to the publisher, checked the preview, and it all came through white. I had the same problem with the cover and the dust jacket, but the problem was solved when I unchecked "change background color." In these smaller PDFs I was able to see what was going on - unchecking "change background color" gave me the original document - the exact black I chose for the InDesign document. Checking "change background color" (black background and white text) gave me a different black than was in the original document - or, sometimes I got that black overlay thing. Part of the problem is, I keep getting different results. I'm desperate at this point. This has been a huge project - finally finished - and I've spent hours trying to get it to the publisher. Okay. I am back on track and realizing that I never even needed mini-bridge to begin with. I've set myself up with the compact version of bridge, and all features are working well, including the save-new-edit feature I thought I had lost previously. I should mention, though I've used PS/LR for many years, I'm a new user of InDesign, so some of the nuances are yet to be worked out. "Don't need no stinkin' mini-bridge!" Thanks, all, for your help. Barb - I would move to CC in order to get an Indesign app that works with all its functions working, not necessarily only for mini-bridge. I'm able to continue with my Indesign, even without mini-bridge - though it was so convenient, especially being able to edit images and instantly apply the changes. It's a little, but not terribly, cumbersome to drag and drop from Explorer library, but I gather that that's how it was once done. I was ready to pull the trigger on CC yesterday but I think I'll just continue with what I have. $49.00/mo is more than I want to pay at the moment. I'd love to find a copy of CS6 - something I meant to purchase back in 2012 when CC was threatening to take over. Thanks.

Hi. Thanks for the suggestion. I followed the instructions, the message in the command prompt reported it was successfully applied, I closed everything down, rebooted, and still no mini-bridge. I should also add, no mini bridge in PS either. Any more ideas? Should I consider subscribing to CCIndesign? I have dreaded this day.

I can continue on, slightly crippled, I guess, grabbing images from Explorer. I have many more projects lined up and I really need InDesign to work properly, in the long run. I'm very reluctant to sign onto CC but maybe I'll be forced to at some point.
