It sounds like a memory issue. It's not that you Air doesn't have enough memory, but it appears as thought the RAM is jammed up with something. Try this: 1. Save everything 2. Re-start your Air 3. Open PRE 14 but only PRE 14 4. Use "Save As" and save it under a different file name. 5. Give it another try. I don't mean to sound patronizing, but I want to provide a type of checklist of what might prevent your videos from uploading to YouTube; so bear with me. I use PRE 2018 for creating and uploading videos for YouTube twice a week for a current total of about 170 videos. They run, on the average, about 15-20 minutes. They're a mix of video and graphics created external to PRE. The videos and most of the images are created with an iPhone. The graphics are further edited with Adobe Photoshop Elements and Fireworks. Most of the graphics in Fireworks default to PNG format, which preserves layers and transparencies; but they are huge compared to JPG format. So all of the graphics are saved to JPG before mixing in with Premier Elements 2018. The point is that you need to pay attention to the size of the files you plan to render and upload. Video size is primarily a function of time (length of video) and graphics for dimension, quality and file type. 1. The process of uploading to YouTube is actually a two-step one from PRE even though you click the button to start the process only once. First your video is rendered, and then it is uploaded. Using a 5-minute video without any added text or graphics, try the following, first: a. Turn off all other applications on your computer. b. Click Export and Share (upper-right corner) and Choose Online c. Select HD 720; Quality Standard. d. Click Begin Share -- choose Private for the "Public" dropdown that appears. Just use the word "test" for everything else. If that doesn't work go to Step 2. 2. This will save your video as a rendered one to your computer. a. Turn off all other applications on your computer. b. Click Export and Share (upper-right corner) and Choose Quick Export (default) c. Click Save d. You might be running into a memory problem with images that big. Your originals are 6016 x 4000, and the scaled up / down are 1020 x 1080 and now 2000 x 1500. Try this. Re-save the originals to 2000 x 1500 as jpg files with different names. (If you're using png or larger, you'll be using a lot more memory.) Try it again, and see if that helps. ... View more

I have a similar system on both the iMac and MacBook Pro, and after looking at your steps, about the only thing I can think of is that 1) Your memory is somehow filled, and/ 2) The test version is out of date or corrupted. 1. Most of my editing and work I do on my videos for my YouTube Channel I use my iMac, but for the 'road' I usually use exactly the same MacBook Pro as you. I get different video formats; sometimes from subscribers and sometimes from my own resources. What I have found that helps is to edit, render and export each of the different formats into a .mp4 and then bring them all back in together under the common exported .mp4. If I then have to re-edit and 'splice' different clips, inter-mixing what were originally different video sources, things run smoothly and both the process and results are better. I had a similar problem and the solution turned out to be pretty simple (...but aren't they all once you have a solution...) My camera is an iPhone 6plus. Having the problem you had in spades, when I discovered that if I press and hold my finger over the image in the video; it sets up VE Lock. That was all it took. Looking at your image, I would suggest you first leave out the yellow box and save and export what you have so far. Then, import the exported video back into PRE and then add the yellow box in a layer above your new video. When you place your yellow box, be sure to place it "on top" both on the timeline and when your drag it to the position you want it and the pop-up asks where you want it--"on top" is what you need to add. ... Load up your 5.8gb file into PRE and use the "Export..." and export it again using a different file name. For example, save "Smith.mp4" as "Jones.mp4." That might work. I tend to use the Photoshop Elements with Graphics -> Symbols -> Shape and create my arrow first. Then, I put the image in the Project Assets in the layer above the video. When I want to show an error, I just have it show up where there is an error. This is done by dropping it above the error and keeping it present only during the point where you'll need it. When you change the object size in Photoshop Elements (e.g., take a 1000 x 1000 image and reduce it to 400 x 400), it resamples the image; keeping everything looking good.) With enlargement, up to a point and then you start getting pixelated. In Premiere Elements, you can resize a video and/ or crop it in the editor, but it does in in multiple ways. Hi Franco1862, Before doing this, make a backup of everything and export the work you've done so far. Here's one possible solution. 1. Load your video/audio 2. Select the Video/Audio pair and from the Clip menu choose Unlink Audio and Video 3. Select the audio portion of the clip and then open the Export & Share menu and select Audio 4. Choose a different audio format and export the audio. 5. Delete the audio portion on the Timeline and drag the new audio to the Project Assets. 6. Working with titles (and text in general) on PRE can be tricky. 1. Click on the text on the screen 2. Open the Fix panel and select the Text Adjustment icon at the top--That should make your text editable. 3. When you're finished, click on the Text Adjustment icon again to "lock" the text. If that works to generate a video file, you ought to be able to share the video that way. Hi Gary When you open a new project you can set the windscreen format in the Change Setting selection in the New Project window. There are a lot of different ways you can add subtitles. You can use the "Titles" tool, which can be a challenge, or you can take a wholly different route. If I'm in a hurry, I'll make all of my subtitles and captions using jpeg graphics. The easiest way to do what you want is to create graphics containing the text you want against a white background. Have three layers (or tracks). On the bottom track put the video. On the next track up, overlay the text-graphic for the bottom text, and finally one the third track put the text-graphic for the top layer. Alternatively you use the following step: 1. From 'Project Assets' choose -> Panel Options -> New Items-> Color Matte (Select white) 2. Use a black font and Title tool on top of the matte. Resize the matte so that it's where you want the text and not cover up the video. I use JPEG all the time with PRE. Since I use images from a variety of difference sources, I don't have a lot of control over the initial image format. Most of the images from mobile devices are in JPEG format or PNG (on the Web). If PNG, I convert them the JPEG. While Peru Bob and Steve are correct in asserting you get the best image with PSD format, I have found that the gain is not that great and your resolution is limited to the DPI of your screen in any case. Further, when editing with larger PSD files, you'll use more memory which slows down the process or clogs it up altogether. Also, I try and make the size of the JPEG file to fit the resolution of the screen, which in my case is 800 x 800 with room for a video to the side. If no video is used in conjunction with your images, then make sure they fit the screen resolution as best as possible. I'd have to double-check, but I believe that all images are converted to JPEGs in all streaming video; so while you may start with PSD images, they may be converted to JPEG when you render and export your video. What I'd suggest is this: try out the different formats and see which one works the best in terms of presenting your images. If the PSDs work best; by all means use them. Since you installed PRE 15 a while ago, check and see if there are any updates. Also, did you update Windows to 10 after or before installation? Finally, try this. When I first import my videos onto the Timeline, I get no audio, but if I wait a while, it comes on and appears in the "wave image' form.
