I have tried EVERY combination of layers, masks, and available options that I can think of and I absolutely cannot get Auto-Blend to work properly on even the simplest example (a boat in the water). It always makes the boat (and anything else I've tried) mostly transparent. I've watched a half-dozen tutorials, I have Stack Images selected, have tried both Seamless Tones and Content Aware for Transparent Areas on and off, I've tried the boat with a layer mask, with the mask contracted and expanded, cropped with no mask, and I always get a result like the one attached. Does anyone have any suggestions to what I might be doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

I know we can import .abr Photoshop brushes into Painter, but can the default brush alphas and the shapes in the Alphas category be exported from Painter in a file type that Photoshop can use (like .png, .psd, etc)? I assume not, as using Export Resource only copies the native Substance files to another folder, and dragging them into Photoshop directly doesn't work either. Thanks in advance for any information.

@Ares Hovhannesyan Thank you, that is actually what I was doing while I was waiting to find out if I was missing something. 🙂 I'm glad to hear that there are discussions on improving the Send to function too (thank you Cyril as well). I'm hoping that the texture loading method will be improved a little in the future too because right now, you need to separate all of the textures into their own folders, otherwise the keyword triggers will just load the first matching textures alphabetically.

I've been using Stager for a few days now and am liking it so far (especially the masked PSD output), but I think the single most important feature that it needs is one that I assumed it had when I subscribed in order to try it - that you can send textures back and forth between it and Substance Painter easily. You can send them *from* Painter to Stager, but not back - but by far, the lack of a refresh button in Stager to update any exported textures from Painter is the biggest problem this program has. I'd also like to see the Load Material Textures in Stager be able to auto-fill the texture slots with textures that share the surface's name (instead of just the first alphabetically-named texture) and for Substance Painter to be able to use the Mercury renderer (in addition to or instead of Iray) to make Painter to Stager workflows as accurate as possible. Thank you for your time.

Thank you very much, but I was actually asking where the individual JPGs/PNGs are saved to when you export to Stager using the "Send to Stager" menu item. I know that you can export using a Stager preset and designate a folder at export time, but I don't know where they are going when you do it quickly using that method.

When you use the "Send to Stager" button in Substance Painter and an object goes over with its generated textures, where are those textures saved? I'm trying to find a way to update them without having to send the model to Stager again and again every time I edit a material (btw, a texture refresh feature and better integration with Painter need to be top of the list of future new Stager features), but I don't know where they are being saved upon export. Also, can someone explain a little about what preset or settings are used when textures are created and sent to Stager this way? If you have some of the more advanced channels active, like translucency, SSS, or top coat settings in a smart material for example, are they properly calculated and automatically applied to the proper channels in Stager? Thank you very much in advance for any information.

Oh I agree, this is weird and shouldn't be happening, but I'll sacrifice smooth zooming to have my brushes work again. I bought the 2080ti for 3D rendering anyway, Photoshop worked fine for me back when I had a 980ti. Maybe others won't have to do what I did, we'll see once everyone gets this new update installed.

Apologies, it seems now if I completely disable graphic acceleration on Photoshop, the lag is gone. Not sure why that's necessary when I have a good card (Nvidia 2080ti), but it seems to be better now. Thanks to Adobe for getting the recent patches out quickly and I hope others are also seeing some of their issues resolved.

Friggin' hell, even the latest "major" update (22.2 I think?) didn't fix my brush lag problems. Even tried using the screen tablet *only* as a tablet and used it to draw on main monitor, still lag. I'd swear the problem was on my end if any other graphics program had the same issues.

Disabling all of the GPU features may have slightly lessoned the frequency of brush lagging here, but it still happens enough to make serious work impossible. Very strange that people are having such differing problems, it really is hard to tell exactly what needs to be fixed. Photoshop runs fairly well for me if I just use a mouse and a monitor, but as soon I move it to the tablet screen, everything goes bad. It makes me think the problem might be on my end, but these problems ONLY are happening with Photoshop, not Clip Studio Paint, not the trial of Affinity Paint that I tried, and not even 3D rendering software.

Nope, cursor starts lagging the moment I put pen to tablet. I tried turning Windows Ink on and off, updated graphics drivers, reduced and raised Photoshop's grapical settings, hid all menus, hid the Navigator, nothing. Can't deal with this anymore, Photoshop is the only program giving me these kinds of problems. If it's still this unusable by the time my subscription renewal hits, I may have to unsubscribe.

Hm, that's an interesting idea I hadn't tried yet. I do have two monitors active when using Photoshop on the tablet, maybe turning the other one off could help. Thanks, will try tomorrow and mention if it helps at all.

I installed this latest update and it did not fix the lagging/interrupted brush strokes on a tablet. Would like to hear if anyone else having that problem is still having it so I can determine whether it's an issue on my end now. Thanks.

Yesterday I decided to seriously give it another try because I have a guy waiting for me to touch up some 3D renders. I was literally yelling at the ceiling and pulling on my hair within 15 minutes and had to tell the guy I absolutely could not continue on his project until this was resolved. Brushes are almost completely useless here; all I can really do is assemble the EXRs in Photoshop and apply adjustment layers, then send the thing over to Clip Studio Paint for any actual retouching. Even Adobe's site is slow now, heh. Really hope things can be remedied soon.

Sorry for the double post. So it does still interrupt the brush strokes on a traditional non-screen tablet? Huh, after all this time, Photoshop still has issues with tablets of any kind. 😞

I don't think I'm having that problem, no. My fans are controlled manually (just two speeds, normal and high for when I'm rendering), but I haven't noticed anything unusual when using Photoshop. Hope you can figure out what that's all about.

OK yeah, I can definitely see this being a critical problem for a 2D concept artist then. 😞 You have one of the best tablets around too, so that probably rules out the issue being the tablet brand. So it doesn't lag for you if you use the Intuos (meaning the issue has something to do with screen tablet displays)?

You too? Can I ask what kind of tablet you're using? Yeah, it's messing up my workflow too. I've got a ton of images I need to fix up for someone and while this isn't the most critical problem in the world, it sure makes things more frustrating (especially when paired with the weird zooming, panning, and how long it takes everything to save and load now).

I was able to narrow down most of my Photoshop problems to something having to do with how it interacts with a tablet (with a screen, like a Cintiq, I'm using an XP-Pen 24"). Pen strokes do not get interrupted when drawing with a mouse on my main monitor, but they suddenly stop mid-stroke when using the tablet, regardless of size, speed, or whether pressure sensitivity is on. I've tried just about EVERYTHING one can do to fix this, including reinstalling Photoshop, the XP-Pen software and drivers, removing PSConfig, doing the old PSUserConfig pressure fix, connecting the tablet via USB-C and USB/HDMI, reverting to an older nVidia Creative driver (and it's for a 2080ti, which should have no problem with Photoshop), and adjusting virtually every performance and graphical setting and preference within Photoshop. The fact that I can run Affinity Photo or Clip Studio Paint immediately after on the tablet without brush strokes ever getting interrupted only leaves me with the assumption that the problem lies with these recent Photoshop updates.

Yeah this is really ridiculous. I've used Photoshop since you could buy it in an Electronics Boutique and it's never been this laggy and slow. Is anyone else also getting a "boioioiong"-like effect when you zoom in or out? That and brushes just losing their pressure sensitivity mid-stroke are forcing me to use Clip Studio Paint to touch up 3D renders now. I got excited when I saw there was an update to Photoshop today (1/14), but nothing seems to have been fixed on my end. Really hope more fixes are coming around the bend or I might have to consider ending my subscription.

OK, this worked for me: * Download and install the latest Wacom drivers (http://us.wacom.com/en/support/drivers/), 6.3.13-w3 * Remove My Preferences in the Wacom Tablet Preference File Utility (back up your current one just in case) * Now add Photoshop or another program in Functions -> Applications and commands should start working. Unfortunately you will have to re-create all of your custom settings, but clearing your preferences is the only thing that worked for me. You'll want to get that new driver anyway, it adds a ton of really useful new features to context menus. New button bars, sticky radial menus, and more.

I'm having the same problem; radial menu and express keys always default to the "All Other" settings and do not recognize any customization. The PSUserConfig setting that's worked in the past doesn't seem to help this time either. Using Windows 7, Cintiq 13HD, Photoshop CC 2015, latest Wacom drivers. Hope we can get an official reply and solution soon.
