Yes, that's right! My 3090 makes nearly no difference from my old 2070.

Only the 3D solved points have 3D information (XYZ). All 2D tracking points of the 2D source with bad tracking information or different movements (moving objects, reflections etc.) are killed automatically by the algorithm. That's the downside of this very basic/easy-to-use Camera Tracker. In my opinion, the Camera Tracker needs an advanced option to manually track points, give them waits and constraints (distance, planar surfaces etc.) and have a good export/import options. I write this for years but Adobe does not listen!

A option to convert your BRAW right (like in Premiere or Davici or Nuke) Set the right Color Science, Gamma, Color Space, and have full controll over the ISO, Color Temperatur, Tin etc.

I have this since years. You can import BRAWs with it but everything looks flat because you can't set the correct color Science, Color Space and have no controll over ISO, Whitebalnce like you have in Premiere Pro or every other Compositing Tool I know.

I think, that's a question to Adobe because Premiere has full BRAW Support. Why not AE??? -- Diese Nachricht wurde von meinem Android Mobiltelefon mit GMX Mail gesendet.

1) Why should I use to import BRAW Studio if I don't use the Layer Setting Effect? 2) If I can really use the Effect with this complicated restart/cache rest process why you make that the red cross? I would love to see a native way to use BRAW in After Effects like in Premiere (with Color Science Settings, ISO und K Controls) - don't get why it doesn't work in AE like there.

It's still impossible to work properly with BRAW Files in After Effects! We have no access to all the important RAW-Data like Color Sience, White Balance, Color Space, Gamma, ISO.. Premiere Pro can do this for years!!!???? (see image). Why we don't get this in After Effects?

Is it still not possible to work with BRAW Meta-Data in After Effects? I still can't find any menu for: Color Science, Color Space, Gamma, White balance, ISO, Apply LUT, etc. like in Premiere Pro (look image)? Is this possible? How can I work with BRAW in AE (without expensive Plugins) Why in Premere Pro and not in After Effects? BRAW has been out there for 5 years! thx Pat

You can do (nearly) everything with expressions some how, but it's too slow, to complicated and not intuitive enought for most productive workflows. After Effects it's a tool for creative person's and not for programmer who fix all weak points of the tool with expressions 😄 I would love to see a + sign beside every animated proparty and if I click it, AE simple adds a second animation layer on top of the old one to add a second animation to the already existing animation.

It's very hard to adjust complex motion data (tracking data, mocap data or complex animations) in AE. It would be great if we could add an extra "animation layer" on top of every parameter to adjust for example slight drifts of a tracked mask. thx, Patrick

1) An adjustable "Soft Selection" in the graph editor would improve the manipulation of data a lot. For example, the adjustment of tracking data where every frame is a keyframe. 2) A "Soft Selection" in the viewport (for the selection of mask points etc.) would be a great improvement for rotoscoping etc. thx Patrick

Why ACES CG for Postproduction ...because it has linear gamma not log. If you work with CG (3D renderings) you should go this route. If not, you can stay in ACES 2065-1

Here are my short first list: 1) Fbx, abc, usd, vdb, Support (import/export) 2)Texture/Shader Editor (PBR Support) with a link to Substance Painter/Designer to work on it. 3)Primetives and basic modeling tools/deformer to create simple meshes for camera mapping direct in AE 4) Raytrace Support (Light, Shadows, Reflections) (on GPU) - Matte Shadow Material - IBL with HDRI Maps (Dome light) - New Lights (Raytracing support) with more parameters like texture projection. 5) New Camera with simple camera mapping support and real world parameters like stops, sensor size ... - Camera mapping tools - Lens distortion tools - Focal estimation tools 6) Support of 3D volumes and point clouds (vdb.) 7)Smart 3D Particle system with Physics (node editor) 8) Advanced Camera Tracker (more manual control, constrains, import/export to all 3D packages) 9) Possibility to streaming Unreal Scenes to AE (for Virtual Production/Realtime VFX) 10) 3D Object Tracking with 3D Meshes (for 3D object/face replacement etc.) 11) A simple 3D Rigging tool like Mixamo with a mocap library direct in AE I think, that would be a good start 😉 What are your 3D plans for the next releases? regards Patrick!

Hi! I was very happy to see native 3D in AE (I wait already over 10 years for that step) . But now I'm afraid again, because nothing new happened since mounths?. I hope you know, that the actual 3D functions are faaaaaaaar from usable for VFX and Motion Graphics? You realy should work day and night to add more and more new 3D functions to make it in some years realy competitive with Nuke and co.! This programs are 10 years in front in this area. Please show us that you mean it serious with 3D for VFX and Motion Graphics and release every update some new 3D functions! Thx Patrick!

A general rework of the old color managment system in AE is really necessary! ...In other compositing packages it is way simpler and faster to work accurate with different color spaces!

It would be a dream if the Flow-Chart would get updated to a real usable Node Editor. A guy from Hollywood Illusion.com is working on such a project at the moment https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_uhtip_6Vg&t=30s. It would be great to bring that natively to AE.

The new 3D Gizmo is fine, but if you want to move the Anchor point with the Pan behind tool in 3D space, or want to turn a camera around its point of interest. It's nearly impossible to do this anymore. A checkbox beside the snapping tools or a simple shortcut to switch it off/on would help a lot! Regards, Pat

It needs manual Tracker, flagging Trackers ("gold flagged" for very good/imported ones), it needs constrains like (tracker on plane surface, distance between points (scene scale), it needs different import and export formats, a point cloud representation of the surface, a lens distortion tools and and and 😄

To sum it up for everyone: At the moment it is not really possible to use the new native 3D functions inside of AE in a productive way . For that, it would need min. Physical based Shaders (like in Substance (link or editor) and new raytraced light/shadows and reflections. I hope Adobe will work real hard and fast on this big building site?

The thing is, Element 3D didn't got any feature update since 5-6 years. It's very outdates already. After Effects needs to get something like Elements 3D on steroids if they want to compete on the marked in the next years. I hope Adobe is knowing that after all that years.

Good to see native 3D in AE!!!!!... but now comes the hard part to make it usable and ready for VFX & Motion Graphics!!! - Fbx, alambic, usd. vdb. Support (import/export) - Support of animated Meshes - Simple/basic rigging tool (like in Mixamo to use Mocap data on 3D models) - Texture/Shader Editor (PBR) - Matte Shadow Material - Link to Substance Painter/Designer - Raytrace Lighting, Shadows, Reflections (GPU) - IBL (HDRI) - New Lights (raytracing support) and more parameters like texture projection. - New Camera with simple camera mapping support and real world parameters like stops, sensor size ... - Camera mapping tools - Lens distortion tools - Focal estimation tools - Primitives' and very basics modeling and deformer-tools (to create simple meshes for the ground plane or camera projections) - Shadow Matte - Support of 3D Volumes and Point Clouds (vdb.) - Smart 3D Particles with Physics (node editor) - Advanced Camera Tracker (more manual control, constrains, import/export) .... These are only the basic things to start with ... please make After Effects great again!

@ autocroma: At the moment i don't know any 3D package that can handle VFX Compositing tasks like Keying, Roto, Retouche, Tracking, Stabilizing, In painting, DeNoise, Color Grading and and and ...like Composting Tools like AE or Nuke. Blender is in my opinion the closest of all 3D Packages but still far away. Your Strategie makes only sense if you work mainly in 3D and add only a video BG or some 2D Plates into your 3D Scene. After Effects should go the way of Blender but only the other way around: Focus on Film/Video Compositing/Motion Graphics/Animation and add some Importen real time 3D functions and native import/export options of modern 3D/VFX standards like fbx, alembic, usd, vdb, bvh...
