Echoing the need for 32-bit grain. I use an animation preset with Sapphire S_Grain that lets me control amplitude and frequency of each color channel, which should be built into AE (please.)

After setting an origin and ground plane, then using the same Target to add a camera and a solid so you can verify that you have a good camera track, try this workflow:
Pick any single camera track point that is sticking to some detail in the shot for more than a few frames. Add a solid so you can see it move because you can't see nulls. You'll get a very small square 3D solid. Verify that the point you selected has good data and it sticks to the surface. Make the new 3D Layer a Guide Layer so it doesn't accidentally show up in the render. Add another small 2D solid to the comp, make it a Guide layer, and apply this expression to Position:
L = thisComp.layer("3D layer");
L.toComp([0,0,0]);
As long as the layer name matches your 3D track point, you'll have a 2D layer that follows that single track point you created.
If the single track point had good data, or you have selected three or more points and have a good track, the 2D layer will be attached to the 3D track solid (or null).
I use this workflow all the time and have saved the expression as an animation preset so I can attach a 2D null to any 3D layer below it by changing the expression to use the layer index like this:
L = thisComp.layer(index + 1);
L.toComp([0,0,0])
One of the more common uses is to attach a null to a shape layer stroked path as a pointer for a graphic by using the Create Nulls From Paths/Points follow Nulls script available in the Window menu.

Same for me. Did you find a solution already?

The issue is a bit more nuanced. Traditionally EXRs (from CG) were kind of assumed to be sRGB/Linear. You would work on them in sRGB/Linear and finish with a simple lin to 2.2 conversion. Now we can run into the situation where we work in ACEScg with multi-pass renders in sRGB/Linear. EXtractoR takes the data directly from the source file and thus bypasses it's conversion. In practice it doesn't matter whether it does it or not. Some passes in CG are actually intended to not be altered like UV/Position/Normal etc. If your EXR color space doesn't match your working space you want to convert your diffuse and other non data map but not the rest. You'd have to convert some data regardless of the order of operations. Workaround: The best way to go about it is to convert all your non data passes to ACEScg after the EXtractoR effect and leave all data passes as is. There is no need to revert back to manual color management. Another alternative is to work in sRGB/Linear instead as the working space, if your pipeline/project/deliverable allow it. Possible solution?: I don't think there is a logical way to go about this. In something like Nuke that is node based you could 'explode' your passes into separate Read nodes and assign the input space accordingly. Something similar in AE would be the ability to import multipass EXR into layers similar to a .psd file. Is that something we'd want though? Having only 1 file in the project bin definetly feels more clean. Curious what you think.

@pat pro also! if it's a laptop, both the IGPU and APU should have access to normal RAM, giving a viariable VRAM!

A option to convert your BRAW right (like in Premiere or Davici or Nuke) Set the right Color Science, Gamma, Color Space, and have full controll over the ISO, Color Temperatur, Tin etc.

I think Adobe should look at the Foundry and see what they are doing with adding USD. To me it looks like a format that combines the best from FBX and Alembic with options to overwrite parts if necessary.

It's still impossible to work properly with BRAW Files in After Effects! We have no access to all the important RAW-Data like Color Sience, White Balance, Color Space, Gamma, ISO.. Premiere Pro can do this for years!!!???? (see image). Why we don't get this in After Effects?

Is it still not possible to work with BRAW Meta-Data in After Effects? I still can't find any menu for: Color Science, Color Space, Gamma, White balance, ISO, Apply LUT, etc. like in Premiere Pro (look image)? Is this possible? How can I work with BRAW in AE (without expensive Plugins) Why in Premere Pro and not in After Effects? BRAW has been out there for 5 years! thx Pat

You can do (nearly) everything with expressions some how, but it's too slow, to complicated and not intuitive enought for most productive workflows. After Effects it's a tool for creative person's and not for programmer who fix all weak points of the tool with expressions 😄 I would love to see a + sign beside every animated proparty and if I click it, AE simple adds a second animation layer on top of the old one to add a second animation to the already existing animation.

1) An adjustable "Soft Selection" in the graph editor would improve the manipulation of data a lot. For example, the adjustment of tracking data where every frame is a keyframe. 2) A "Soft Selection" in the viewport (for the selection of mask points etc.) would be a great improvement for rotoscoping etc. thx Patrick

I agree. It is impossible to snap the anchor point accurately to anything when the layer is 3D.

It would be a dream if the Flow-Chart would get updated to a real usable Node Editor. A guy from Hollywood Illusion.com is working on such a project at the moment https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_uhtip_6Vg&t=30s. It would be great to bring that natively to AE.

It needs manual Tracker, flagging Trackers ("gold flagged" for very good/imported ones), it needs constrains like (tracker on plane surface, distance between points (scene scale), it needs different import and export formats, a point cloud representation of the surface, a lens distortion tools and and and 😄

If you're missing Red Giant's Light Wrap tool, it's been updated and built into Supercomp (along with a lot of other useful compositing tools). It can wrap light from one layer onto all the layers at once without precomposing! That said, I think having an easy effect to wrap light from one layer onto another would still be quite useful. So, please, ping Maxon folks (as I have) to bring it (or an equivalent) back! And, obviously, we can hope for a native solution by voting on this (which I have also done).
