Hello! I have been using Lightroom Classic for years. Only today I came across this bug. Hitting ctrl + shift + s to sync settings to several photos, it started to prepare photos for ....... disc burning! I don't even have a dvd burner plugged in... So one more random mix to the list. After years of using LrC, its the first time I see it mixing shortcuts up. Version 13.5.1 through Creative Cloud... I guess I could reset preferences and see how it goes, but considering its the very first time this is happening, I will look the other way this time and restart the program. Adobe, you have a ton of users waiting for this fix...

I've been editing a ton of dance show photos. I edit one photo, copy and paste the settings into others, and adjust the settings. I've always done this for quite some time.
Today I noticed Lightroom Classic not behaving as usual. When I open up the copy settings window, I have no option to actually copy the Remove Tool (Q) (previousy called healing brush).
I guess they changed some tools' naming and forgot to update the copy settings to reflect that. Worse thing is, the Remove Tool is not anywhere in the settings, but they are actually copied!
So when I want to copy only the edits, the color, exposure, etc., I need to delete all Remove Tool instances, and copy settings. And add the Remove spots again if I need them. This is a nuissance.
Can someone verify this? Is this a bug or actual intented way of working? How can one copy the settings without the Remove Tool?
This is happening in a Windows 11, Intel i5 12400F with a Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti
Thanks!
EDIT: I had to post this only to find it LATER.... It actually has the "Remove" listed, I was actually looking for the "Healing Brush" instead.... *sigh* I just wanted to delete this thread now...

Yes my Lightroom is always updated. Currently using version 13.3.1. And yes, that is a clumbsy workaround... I'll try to always leave the crop to last. Thanks!

I was searching for something similar but what I found was not exactly what is happening with my Lightroom Classic. I often shoot dance shows and need to crop eventually the image. What I always do is to crop first, then I proceed with the edits. If one image needs a healing brush (like to remove some head or obstacle in front of the stage to get a clean photo), I need to use the healing brush before the crop. I'm ok with that, since I have more control while the full image is being displayed anyway. I was editing a photo just a minute ago and I noticed this, tough: I used a healing brush. Cropped. Was about to do a minor fix in the healing brush handle, and I could not select it. The healing brush handle is inside the cropped area, so I should be able to select it and move it a bit around. I could not do it. If I reset the crop, I can select the handle and move it around. But its not a good idea because I can't "undo" the crop without guessing where it was before. Yeah I can recreate it again, but we're in 2024, its not like we're using an old version of a photo manipulation program, right? Anyway, I remember perfectly using Lightroom Classic a few months ago and it was not behaving this way. I'm sure this was due to some update. Problem is, I just can't tell where the bug is exactly. I just feel the overall healing brush tool a bit clunky at best, when working in cropped images. Before the UI change to have AI features, for example, this never happened. I could always use the healing brush near the crop area without issues of selecting the handle. Waiting for feedback and eventually, some update to fix this. Windows 11, i5 12400F with 16 GB and Nvidia 1050 TI GPU

Hello! After a while thinking the issue was gone, I can say I was wrong. Not only the bug did not disappear, but it now seems to have a new behavior (at least for me). I thought the bug only ocurred when cycling through the photos with the previous and next keys (left and right) but I have just witnessed a simple mouse click browse to trigger that "auto balance" without even going into the white balance controls! I was watching some photos in the current folder in monitor #2, clicked one to see in full screen on monitor #1 (I have Lightroom Classic spread across two screens) and as soon as the photo loaded, it applied a "white balance" setting on its own.

Hello everyone having this issue! I also had this problem last year and I end up reaching this thread for help. Like you, so I was watching Lightroom Classic randomly change the white balance parameter while we cycle through the photos in the gallery without doing anything else. I didn't knew what to do actually. However, the issue stopped happening in my computer, as far as I could tell. What have I changed or done? First, I was requiring a computer upgrade, so I traded my old AMD six-core for an Intel i5. My GPU is the same GTX 1050 Ti. I've got a new motherboard for the new CPU and new RAM modules to fit. Everything else is just the same. Meanwhile, I was using a big, one-for-all catalog. Now, I have several, smaller catalogues. One for weddings. One for landscapes. One for model shoots. And so on. I was feeling the old catalog too slow and sluggish, so I have an optimized workflow with one catalog for each job type. It loads the photos faster and I can navigate through the folders much easier. Maybe you can try splitting your catalogues into smaller ones, if yours are becoming larger, with a ton of photos? Changing hardware is not an option for everyone, I assume. But it worked for me eventually. I don't know why.

Now that seems an idea, I'm ok with that. Meanwhile I have changed my name. Thanks!

Maybe I could, haven't tried it. But I don't understand the type of name I can actually have. I mean, for the uniqueness factor, I already have my email to identify me at login. The "screen name" should be a regular "display name" even if it is similar to another user. If the system absolutely requires me to choose a unique name, and the unique names I remember are not allowed, then I need to know the specific for screen names, right? Maximum character count, spaces, no spaces, special characters, there is no indication at all in the options. I will try again. Thank you!

Hello! I don't know if I have encoutered a bug or I'm jus out of luck here. I'm trying to change my screen name and its becoming a nightmare. My screen name is currently my first name, a series of random numbers and ends with fcp (totally random for me anyway). Of course I went to my profile and tried to change but whatever the name I pick, it doesn't let me. A name with spaces? No. A name without spaces? No. My name + surname + my "Design" thing I use to have pretty much everywhere? No. My name + surname + "Design e Fotografia" which is basically a set of names I use to identify my "photography brand"? Hell no, has too many characters. But the screen name change window doesn't tell me the requirements for the screen name, so I don't have a clue on what should I pick for it. Thanks for the help!

Hello, Per! I'm only replying now due to some changes I made in my computer. I have upgraded the motherboard, CPU and ram, and honesly since, I haven't noticed any random adjustments when cycling my photos in the catalog. I assume this is somewhat related to hardware, possibly a CPU glitch. I used to have an AMD 6 core, and now I have an i5 12400F.

Agree. Please let us change the language of the Adobe Creative Cloud app itself. Concrete case: I have a Windows environment in Portuguese, from Portugal. Adobe Creative Cloud shows the UI in a horrible Brazilian Portuguese, which is very different (nothing agaisn't my brazilian friends, the translation is actually pretty bad). Not to mention there are syntax and grammar errors here and there. So I would rather see the UI in English. I've set all my Adobe apps to show the UI in English. I know that changing Windows language will make Adobe CC to show in English, but that is not an option. I want my operating system in my language because it actually has a correct language, grammar and syntax everywhere and the overall UI is pleasant to use. But to see Adobe CC UI in Brazilian language and assuming that is Portuguese, is a big NO for me. Please let users change the language of the app itself! The programming is already there, its just an option!

I just reproduced the issue and recorded it on video. Watch as I browse through the images without adjusting anything, then out of nothing, one of the images get a White Balance adjust. I did not do it, as you can see, my mouse was still. https://youtu.be/onPtydRKezw

Take a look at the screenshot I uploaded with my comment. I use LR for years, I know it starts by placing an "Import" history entry. What some users have, including myself, is some random photo get a White Balance adjust entry without any user input.

I've seen this happening to me today, October 2023. After 2 years, it still happens. In my case, I was browsing and selecting a few photos to edit. Photos from a dance show, they are MANY of them similar, all dark background with the dancers in the foreground. So I have two screens: on the left, the grid view with the thumbnails. On the main screen, the main window with the edits. I edit one, move on, cycling through the photos. Every now and then, one random photo gets a history entry as if I just had edited the White Balance. Which is false. Most of the photos I avoid edits to have a clean view of the grid, and later help me sorting only the edited photos to export. What I can suggest is to tag your photos to export with the P (they get the flag icon on them). Before export all of your selections, instead of sorting by edit, set by flagged ON. Bingo, the other false-edits will not appear, because they will not have the flag on them. I still would like to get this solved anyway. Lets say I use Lightroom for a long time and only recently it started to do this. My system is updated, GPU drivers are updated, Windows 10 is updated. Sigh... On the image: I did NOT edit anything in that photo. Yet, it got a history entry on its own.
