Interesting fix, thanks for sharing: as luck would have it, my system is an Intel Mac mini with no dedicated graphics card, so no option for me. 😞

I've had the laggy selection issue when I was still on 20.1; updated to 20.2 is still more or less the same issue (it still happens, but not to the same degree). It is likely important to know my system is 3.2 Ghz mac mini i7 6-core intel machine. and the graphics is Intel UHD 630 (mac OS Sequoia 15.1.1). The selection lag (and subsequent movement of the object) is evident for me only when selecting text objects (lag) vs graphics objects (no lag: interestingly, I tested it with grouped items - when I have a text object and graphic object grouped together, it does the same thing, there is lag if I click-select on the text object(s) in that group, but no lag if I click-select one of the graphic objects). At one point, I could click to select a text object, and then use my arrow/nudge keys to position it somewhere: I know its moving because the coordinates (in the Control panel) of that text object are changing as I nudge around, however, it does not immediately show it moving on my screen preview: often I might wait up to five seconds or more to see the movement on the screen, in fact the screen preview would not show the text object moving at all while the mouse is still hovering the object. The 'coloured' mouse-over outline appearing has never been an issue, but when you click on a text object, the control handles for the text object do not appear until the mouse leaves the bounds of the object, exactly like the video post earlier in the thread. I tried testing it with various conditions, such as Screen Mode (Normal, Preview etc - no difference) as well as Overprint Preview (on or off, no difference). Click-and-drag has always worked, no issue there. Just click-select is the issue i am having.

Sonoma 14.3.1 update is installed and also solved the flashing bug for me too... Mac mini - intel i7 6 Core and Intel UHD 630 using InDesign 19.2. Such a relief!

Ok, so I thought I would test this: I un-installed and re-installed the same version. still has the same problem immediately upon opening any document. I then reverted back to 27.3.1 and still the same 100% CPU thing. I have now installed 27.2 and seems to be OK for now. Chances are I will need to upgrade to Big Sur because I have had other issues with my computer that seem to be OS related.

I have been having this issue since updating to the latest Illustrator 27.4, my set up is a refurbished Mac Mini 2018 running Catalina 10.15.7 - I will investigate updating the OS, or else installing the older version of Illustrator and report what i find...

Adobe would never invest further development of this feature or lack thereof within Adobe Bridge because they already have an asset management tool called Adobe Experience Manager which is cloud-based.

I thank you for your response, and I wish to clarify my question about quantity of Libraries: I work at a real estate brokerage, and deal with hundreds of real estate listings. In fact my primary function on a daily basis is to update existing or generate new marketing material specific to each listing to assist the brokers. If I were the only person doing so, I may not worry too much about having a method to share or re-purpose the necessary assets etc, except there are now 'junior/assistant' roles employed at our company that have begun to help with this function. My instinct was to generate a CC library specific to each listing, and share those individually as required, but I'm afraid that's a poor use of libraries? Imagine having dozens of photos, graphics, floor plans, etc., that are specific to each real estate listing, and you'll soon realize we have a collection of nearly 100,000 assets that need to be stored/shared. I know this type of work truly requires a digital asset management tool, but I also hoped that Bridge could work in a similar way, given that its metadata and keywords could assist greatly with organizing and retrieving it? Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I have a similar / related question.... actually I have two questions: 1) how many libraries will Adobe Bridge CC support? 2) if the local server containing the files/assets is controlled by myself, I can obviously share libraries I create (Export to collaborators) within Adobe Bridge CC; what if someone else on our network creates a library and wants to share it; how do permissions work in that scenario? (my apologies if I am confusing the technology with Adobe Creative Cloud online shared files/assets.)

this is a first time occurrence for me, and googling the issue today brought me to this thread. I've been using Google Chrome (gmail etc) and Adobe CC products (mac OS X) basically for the last year, and I have never had this happen to me before. but it was sure nice to see there was a fix/bug and I didn't have to suffer any longer... those damn shortcuts are my life!
