I have a FrameMaker file (2019 Structured) that crashes when I Accept All edits from the Tracker menu. My other FrameMaker projects don't have this problem. Is there a way to recreate my FrameMaker project retaining the edits made to it? When I copy/paste the body pages into a new document, or I import them in, the edits are not retained. When I import the master pages, the edits are retained. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Sally: Now your explanation makes perfect sense—and Matt's right—it's an issue with the template frame on the left hand page. It's not wide enough for the tab stop. I would: View > Master Pages Control click on the right template frame to select it Graphic > Object Properties > Dimensions Make a note of the frame width, Cancel Control click on the left template frame to select it Graphic > Object Properties > Dimensions Change the width to match the facing page ~Barb

My choice would be to exit Fm, ZIP the current directory, and archive the ZIP. Now you have a saved archive to go back to, and can edit the current version to your heart's content. That's how I manage FrameMaker - Working with Content and my structured Fm workbooks. **Also, the commented PDF files can go in the folder prior to ZIP, so you have them available if needed. -Matt

To create a text inset, you use the File > Import > File and select the file (and flow if an FM document) that you want to import. You also can specify if you want the imported content to take on the formatting used in the current document or to maintain the original formatting as seen in the source file. Importing by reference allows you to maintain a link to the external file that can be updated as the document content changes and you need to update the generated components (essentially the same as doing a book update, except yo have to update each generated file individually). So a book file would be easier to manage all of this.

Thanks so much Winfriend, problem solved! The frame caught the nodes so I could delete the oval shape!

Definitely better to start a new thread, as much of the things discussed in this thread are outdated.
