Others have probably observed as well that after the forum upgrade, attachments are still getting queued for a long time, e.g. the attachment in this post has been queued for almost two hours:
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/433930?tstart=0
(The attachment posted 9:56 AM PDT, it's now 11:49 AM PDT.)
Is there an ETA on a fix for this? If it's going to be awhile, can attachments just be disabled until it's fixed?

The upload form states it's for images - is that not true? Just tried to upload an html file, maybe I should have waited, but it didn't seem to be working. So what kinds of files are accepted?

we have a problem it seems, it alows any file to go through, even .exe files

Safari (Win) shows the broken link icon for non-image filetypes (Zeno's
three files for instance). Other browsers use the alt attribute supplied
for the "image" files. The alt attribute is simply the filename.
But you can still click them and see their contents in Safari.
I almost hate to mention it, but they appear as complete URLs in the
emails - a good thing.

Isn't this a security risk that should be fixed?

That occured to me too but like they say, people who click on links from an unknown or untrusted source get what they deserve.

Are you suggesting a virus scanning queue?
I agree with John. Although I can understand why Adobe would not want to
end up as a repository for virus infected files.
They just need to hire more virus-scanning hamsters.

For all the feedback we're getting lately, I'd guess they've all gone off to the Bahamas.
Even a "Nothing yet" report would give some sense that something was going on!

Maybe they are very very quiet because they've given up on getting this software to work right and they are assessing alternatives.

Can nothing be done about this damn queueing issue - has everybody given up trying to fix it, or what?

No, they're still working on it. They did a small update the other day (and server restart) that they thought would help. Most of the stuck items are being tracked by the moderators.

Still. How can this be? At least giving images a pass might clear the logjam somewhat for files that maybe need checking.

I have no idea how it could be happening. I don't know anything about the forum server or virus scanning queue software.
And I have no idea how it could go on happening so frequently - I would have expected a fix within days.
