Correct answer?

LEGEND ,
Jun 17, 2014 Jun 17, 2014

001.JPGMy previous thread on this has been archived, so I am opening a new one.

How can a question posted today and with no answers become Answered?

(The status of the thread will change because I will post an answer to the question immediately after posting this message).

(And inserting images in IE still puts them at the beginning of the message, not at the insertion point)

Here an example where the OP marked his own answer as "Correct Answer"

It could be ok for me.

Then who is marking all these reply-less posts as answered?  Are there any logs that can be examined?

Yes, but not without a fight.

The notion that the OP should mark the the question Assumed Answered reminds me of the little bird caught by the little helper spinkling salt on its tail.

Question posted 8 hours ago, no answers, but marked Assumed correct: cuantas fotos puedo tener en las colecciones (en total) en lightroom mobile?

By the way, I didn't know we now have mods in the forum in Spanish. About time (see Still no supervision in the French and Spanish forums?), but it would be nice if they were not anonymous.

A post saying "I have the exact same problem" cannot be the correct answer to a question...

I have removed the Correct Answer from https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1508945

But I am unable to remove the Assumed Answered from https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1533526

Claudio, everyone,

I have just found another impossible Correct Answer marking, another thread where the question has been answered. Period. Pure and simple. No Correct Answer. Nothing Assumed. No superfluousnesses of any kind.

This was just like the one I linked to in post #15, and there was a discussion about it (posts 16 - 18) ending with Madison saying:

I reported this one. I'll let you all know what the jive folks say!

However, they just killed it, and we never heard.

So now I am keeping the new one safe.

Shouldn't the OP judge about that what is a "Correct Answer"?

If they don't come back, one of us does it to make future searches work better. Marking our own replies correct or helpful does not award any points, and the OP can always come back and change it later.

Hello Dave,

I can understand your argumentation, thanks. Wish you "lucky hands" in this work, which reminds me of Sisyphus and his never-ending journey ...

... but the more I think about your approach, I want to suggest to ask the OP first for his feedback, to see whether your "Correct Answers" did really help. So we all can see whether you are on the right track and we ourselves can learn more about the substance of the asked questions.

Thanks

Hans-Günter

How, if they don't bother to come back? We can't email them.

Hello Dave,

sorry, but in my eyes the evidence is lacking and your concern does not necessarily argue against an attempt. Clicking on the button does no longer beg as to ask for the feedback!

Thanks, Hans-Günter
