Would it be possible to re-structure the Photoshop forum, to add a SubForum for CS4 questions?

Because I am one of those people who use CS3 and have no plans to upgrade to CS4, so I don't care to have to wade through all the CS4 messages

The Adobe Premiere Pro forum has a separate sub-forum for CS4, and it seems to work well

John,

A number of questions are not strongly version-specific. And sadly, a some folks can't even find the Big Bucket o' Photoshop to post to. So, such a subforum doesn't get my vote either.

I agree. leave it as one forum. it's always been that way, and there's always been people who've stated they're not going from version X to version Y because of reason Z (or in PS4's case, reasons A-M! ;))

This one where my vote does count for more...and I vote no.

It's hard enough to get people to post in the right forum as it is,
having sub forums for individual versions would be a nightmare for
forums as busy as the Photoshop.

If anything, you would create a subfolder for older versions. CS4 is the current version, and thus the one which the main forum should deal with. Otherwise we would need a 5.5, 6. 7. CS, CS2, and CS3 subforum.

I also don't use CS4, but I like to see its messages in the main forum, as it gives me an idea of when to switch versions, problems to watch for, etc.

Don and all...

Aside from it not being realistic to get everyone to post to correct version folders, there being many posts that are not version-specific.

In addition, no one is going to volunteer to read through all the past posts as well as all misposted current topics to file/refile them into specific version folders. It just ain't gonna happen. And even if that were to magically happen, there would be complaints from folks about not being able to find topics that had been moved. Or not knowing where to post.

Aside from it not being realistic to get everyone to post to correct version folders, there are many posts that are just not version-specific, adding to the confusion.

In addition, NO ONE is going to volunteer to read through the ton of past posts as well as all misposted current topics and file/refile them into specific version folders. It just ain't gonna happen.

But, theoretically, if it were to somehow magically happen, there would be complaints from folks about not being able to find topics that had been moved about. And other complaints from folks not knowing where to post (See, for example: Photoshop Elements).
