Interesting! I just came here to post this very issue but for Firefox on Mac. I am now logged in with Chrome and selecting the subcategories in the forum works just fine. I suspected adblockers, but that didn;t change anything, even after reloading the page (in fact the ad-blocker is currently active in Chrome and it is working, while inactive on Firefox and not working).
