Slow as molasses today... Posting is even slower than a snail.
Was looking for an earlier thread but was sooo slow to find that i just started a new one... sorry about that.

Yes, I referred to MY regular Mayan calender, and I'll just have to hang around and see how it plays out. Of course, I have fewer years, than Phillip does!
What gets me is that I then spent good money of a Mayan perpetual calender - supposed to keep going, and going. Dang thing runs out in 2012. Got hooked again...

For instance, I just got a slow page load.
ccox% ping wwwimages.adobe.com
PING a1953.x.akamai.net (96.17.164.186): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 96.17.164.186: icmp_seq=0 ttl=57 time=55.689 ms
64 bytes from 96.17.164.186: icmp_seq=1 ttl=57 time=55.770 ms

64 bytes from 96.17.164.186: icmp_seq=5 ttl=57 time=57.284 ms
The latency for images from wwwimages.adobe.com on that page load was between 76ms and 2110ms (2.11 seconds!).
The latency from jive for the HTML was only 35ms.
edit:
96.17.*.* is Akamai (56ms)
63.80.242.* is Akamai, less than 10 miles from my house. (12 ms)
69.22.162.* is Akamai (15ms)
64.212.100.* is Akamai (15ms)
Akamai's addresses resolve as being anywhere from Dallas to TN or Boston depending on which service you ask.
As near as traceroute can figure, my problem servers are in Dallas.
The fast servers are just off glbx switches somewhere near San Jose, or alternet switches also near San Jose.

Good grief, folks. Will someone please fix this unresponsive mess?
This is STILL the slowest site I frequent.

The delays are worse than terrible right now.
The current bottleneck appears to be all the initial stuff that gets pulled in from Adobe.com. No, I haven't tried to copy WHICH items are troublesome.

Curious. Today it's taking me about 4 seconds to change from one forum to another using my bookmarks. This is about half the time of my shortest download times since the implementation of these new forums.

Don't blame me for not having anything to contribute. I'm spending all of my time trying to log in and just waited through my entire break for the posting screen to come up so I could post this.
Tha's enough for one day thank you very much,
Ken

In the year 2525
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find
In the year 3535
Can't tell the truth, can't tell no lie
Everything you think, do and say
Is in the pill you took today
In the year 4545
Won't need no teeth ,won't need your eyes
Won't find a thing to do
Nobody's gonna look at you
In the year 5555
Your arms are hanging limp at your side
Your legs have nothing to do
Some machines doin' that for you
In the year 6565
Won't need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your sons, pick your daughters too
From the bottom of a long glass tube wouwo
In the year 7510
If god is commin' he should make it by then
Maybe he'll look around and say:
"Now it's time for the judgement day!"
In the year 8510
God is gonna shake his mighty hand
He'll leave a salient place where man has been
Or tear it down and start again wouwo
In the year 9595
I'm wondering if man is gonna be alive
He's taken everything earth had to give
And he's put back nothing wouwo
Now it's been 10.000 years man has cried a billion tears
For what he never knew now man's reign is through
But through eternal light the twinklin' of starlight
So very far away now it's night to yesterday
In the 2525
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find...
In the year 3535
Won't tell the truth tell no lies
Everything you think do and say
Is in the pill you took today
In the year 4545 Adobe Forums
Will return to the 2003 format
People will rejoice and sing
being able to log on agin
In the year 4545...

Forget it buddy in a 1000 years from now the earth will be long dead and gone. Might be in another 100.
If you belive the Myan Calendar it will be toast around Christmas time two years from now. I don't but people that do they will be jumping off bridges and high rises in Nov of 2012 so they waon't have to go through it.

I don't believe any of that is an excuse to let these forums go to pot before the time is at hand.

That's what we have now; A minimum number of members to meet.
It took me 37 hours to log on today. That's how long since I last logged on because re-logging on is only something I would attempt if I have the extra time, let alone having actual subjects to discuss. These forums are killing the idea of having actual discussions about... what kinds of products were those that we used to discuss?
Anyway, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all,
Ken

The forums are causing time to expand in a liquid state. Days have become 37 hours.
That's so you can log in within the same day.
I'm going to start logging back in right now so I can come back in the new year.
See ya then,
Ken
I'm sending my grandchildren here so they can experience what it was like when we had 8-bit computers with Z-80 processors.
Ho ho ho...

Pfft! The way the psychs are going, you won't have to wait for 3535 for this one. It'll be here in 2015!
