Hear, hear!

Muscle memory had already started, due to my Learnin' phase with Web-based communication vs NNTP (I kept hitting the Home key at end-of-thread), but the footer breadcrumbs are definitely a real positive! Muscles already re-trained to stop hitting Home at EOT.

Thanks John!

Now if we could get the Search box to stop trapping the Tab key infinitely....

It would be nice to also have a repeat of the "Up to Discussions in [forum list]" link at the bottom, since we can't use the back button without losing our place.

Discussions always goes to page 1 of the thread overview pages. Up to Discussions returns you to the overview page you came from.

The back button does work (sort of) to get you to the same page if you have hit the Up to Discussions link earlier. ie:

  1. Go to page 2 of the discussions list.
  2. Read a message (Back button or Discussions will take you to page one from here)
  3. Click Up to Discussions (note the ?tstart=30 in the URL)
  4. Read another message
  5. Back button will now return you to page two, but Discussions still takes you to page one.

However, the back button always brings you to the top of the page, not to the section of the page you had scrolled down to read.

I think adding the Up to Discussions link at the bottom is a good idea, too - if the Jive software cannot be written to allow for one of the oldest and most used features of Web browsers.

There's more than one overview page? I give up.

i think making the forum work like a normal web site - with the back button and cursors and refresh and HEYnGlavin and all - would be a good idea. get right on that, mm-kay?

Have a look at page 15 (assuming you're viewing 30 subjects per page).

Ummmmmmm

Could someone please explain what breadcrumbs in a forum context are.

Be they at the bottom, top or sides.

Thanks
