What broswer? I'm in FireFox/Windows right now and "backspaced" a few times to go to previous pages and remained logged in.

Are you using any special cookie managers?

It was just on my laptop. using Safari 3.2.1 I would go 4 or 5 pages deep logged in hit backspace and I was logged out.

it was doing it last night. I can't get it to do it now. I have noticed some quirky stuff using 2 computers. I wonder if that has something to do with getting logged out in the middle of a post ro getting logged out going between forums. I swear stuff happens that is just strange then it quits and it happens so randomly.

I'm Posting from Safari Version 4 Public Beta (4528.17)

When you say "backspace" do you mean the back button in the browser or the Backspace button on the keyboard?

are you actually logged out or does it just appear that way because the pages don't auto-refresh. iow, next time you see that, hit refresh on the browser and see if you're still logged in.

OK I think Dave has something here.

But why does it say I'm not logged in when I have gone 5 to 6 pages past the login page? I have only backed up one page.

this Jive stuff is too screwy.

Mmmmm...

And why is this thread saying "Not answered" in red? Usually, it says "Possibly answered", once a post comes in...

Buko: The answer to your backspace log out is so simple and elementary, i'm truly surprised no one has come with an answer yet...

The answer is, as i said, simple and obvious:

What else can you expect from the Jive A$$ forums?

Something else I've Noticed. This is happening with Safari 3.2.1 only and not with Safari 4 Beta.

OK, this time I'm on my G5 desktop. Safari 4 beta. I've replied in a couple of threads and I hit the back button. I'm logged out. I  go forward, I'm still logged out. I click a link to a new forum in the bookmark bar, still logged out. It ended up I had to login again to post this.

This forum is so tedious to use its waring me down. coming here makes me angry now. After a few logouts and other BS I just say screw the people who need help, this is just too much work.

We had such a smooth running forum with Webcrossing.

Buko,

Just respond using email. You don't need to log in, and it gets there

(usually, at least most of the message)... eventually!

If I regularly used the web interface, I'd have gone crazy by now!

Use filters. That'll organize the posts into folders based on

individual forum. It takes a few minutes to set up and iIt takes a

little longer to check email, but it's not too terrible...

Harbs,

it still takes up hard drive space when I really don't (shouldn't) need to!  My inbox is full enough, even with filters in place!  <gotta learn to delete old messages ... >
