For weeks now in the Fireworks forum, when I search for anything, I get:

Variable FTVAR_RESULTTYPE is undefined.
Resources:
* Enable Robust Exception Information to provide greater detail about the source of errors. In the Administrator, click Debugging & Logging > Debug Output Settings, and select the Robust Exception Information option.
* Check the ColdFusion documentation to verify that you are using the correct syntax.
* Search the Knowledge Base to find a solution to your problem.

Other people are reporting the same problem and it's been this way for weeks now.

I must say that as a paying customer, I expect better from a company like Adobe.

Sorry about the mistake with your name, Ramón. I hadn't realized I did that.

The most unnerving thing about this whole makeover is yanking support for NNTP.

I basically frequent the Illustrator and DW fora. For AI, i use the web access as the volume is fairly low. For DW, i use the NNTP as volume is high and it's far easier to mark and follow threads you're interested in...

FWIW, a lot of serious contributors in the DW forum have explicitly stated that they will be out of the DW forum if it stops NNTP support. In which case, i think, we'll lose a great resource. I am also sure that a lot of contributors will drop out of the other fora such as AI, PS, etc., etc...

Cheers...

The MM forums have always been bad which is why most of the members use NNTP.

And since Adobe took over MM, MM seems to be the company who bought Adobe.

That's nonsense. Most of the members who use NNTP use it because of its
simplicity and its speed, not because of any particular bad trait of the web
forums. If the current Adobe forums were significantly different than the
old MM ones, you would find a different attitude, but they are not....

You know I'm an NNTP fan, but neither you nor anyone else can say for
sure why each user has chosen to use it.

If that were the case, new versions of Freehand would be in production, thereby effectively shutting done 85% of all the whinging posts by JET in the Illustrator forums.

Murray,

There is no incentive for me to deeply explore the MM forums by Web, simply because they are so uninviting in their structure (I'm being kind.) You simply bypass the mess with NNTP.

Just as no-one can say for sure that declining forum usage is related to the forum format over here. Is it possible to find out whether more people use NNTP 'over there' than 'over here'? Or whether usage is declining at a similar rate?
