The Lounge

Dear Anyone. I've put this in The Lounge because I couldn't see anywhere more appropriate, Mods, feel free to move it if I've put it in the wrong place? Just E_mail me with where you've put it if you move it, k?OK, I'm totally confused dot com on all of what I'm about to ask so if you think I'm asking the wrong question, please tell me!  Here's what I've done, tell me what I SHOULD have done and how to correct it. Don't use jargon.  I'm too dumb for jargon! I went to Amazon and bought a legit. copy of a book.  It said Kindle format only, I thought 'that's cool, I'll be able to convert it after downloading it.'  I wanted to convert it because I've got a computer I use to write music on that's never connected to the Net because I don't want any viruses to have a chance to hit it and I needed to read it on that one.  (It's about mixing music.)But Amazon put it on the Cloud and gave me a Kindle device to read it with (a virtual program, not a physical object!) Hi Everyone!   Please forgive if this is not the right forum to post in for this question...    We have a client requesting a "learn more" button be applied to her video.  When viewers click on the button they are routed to the client's website.  Anyone have experience doing this?  What is the best way?   Thanks!   Shelley

Just started getting involved in filming events such as celebrations, interviews and short clips of random subjects.  Slowly investing and building up my equipment as I go.  Would like to progress into short promotionalvideos for businesses and hopefully get paid for my time.  Wondering if anyone has had similar experience at this level and could pass on practical advice e.g. approaching companies, what dialogue to use etc.

Thesis: Adobe Office in the PH: An interdependent work-space through convergence of the creative industryGreetings! I am Izabelle Esther S. Tanchico a 5th year architecture student doing my thesis, my topic is "Adobe Office in the PH: An interdependent work-space through convergence of the creative industry"As there is no Adobe Office here in the Philippines and creative industry is a key contributor to Philippines growth, I would like to propose an Adobe Office which would showcase Filipino's creativity. People who are into this industry like graphic designers and illustrators, animators, publishers, film and video pros, fashion designers, photographers, architects, web designers or anyone who is into digital arts will collaborate and make an impact in our economy through digital media and marketing. (This research is purely theoretical and is hoped to solve some of our problems as creative architecturally.)With this, Is it possible to ask for the different Departments in the Adobe Of

If you have a minute, send a thought or two to those affected by Hurricane Florence on the East Coast of the USA, mostly in the Carolinas so far. As of today, twelve are dead, a million are without power, and untold numbers have evacuated their homes to safer grounds. I was going to put this in Gene's Something We Can All Relate to thread, but it is not really a joke, so I thought I'd better start a new thread.Turn up your volume and enjoy.

I have made a 360 video for education.  I now wish to create hotspots for elearning. There are a few cloud platforms out there but I thought about Adobe seeing as they have so many products, maybe they have something for this?Thank You

Hello everyone, Can someone explain, in plain English , what do these mean in real life and what their advantages are, when they write them in mirrorless/slr cameras reviews/specs (I've been a photographer all my life but quite new to shooting video):recording standard Cinema 4K 10-bit 4:2:2 videoflat V-logHLG modesThanks,Marek

Why do you use 'then' instead of 'than' word. I noticed in chats with people they do it constantly, so not just single time by mistake but each time there is need to use 'than' word. However I don't speak english well that little change sounds terrible. Is there something about this language I don't know I should use 'then' instad of 'than' like others?I never noticed anyone says 'Thenk You' but always 'Thank You'. It's little different as there's not 'thenk' word; still it's similar. What is really wired, Google Translator although distinguishes single use of 'then' and 'than', if 'then' is used in sentence it translates it like that was correct 'than'. Even machine like human got the same tendency or in some contries that's good?

Sometimes people in the industry can't help but try and figure out what's going on "outside the frame".Lighting, Camera moves, post editing, etc.I like a Culligan water TV commercial and couldn't understand the lyrics so hunted it down. Which 30 seconds do you think they used ?The last shot is maybe aerial or maybe Luoma crane under cranked a bit... what do YOU think it was ??TV commercialhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkUVaFrF4f8music - what 30 seconds ?https://genius.com/Mai-lan-pumper-lyricslast shot - aerial or Luoma crane?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-q_Dam9nD0E

I was reading today on Ars Technica, about the Blackmagic external GPU available in the Apple Store. It seems like a good way for me to be able to boost the performance of my MacBook Pro 13” (late 2017, no touchbar, two Thunderbolt 3 ports, i5 2.3GHz, 16Gb RAM). I got the smaller form factor for work/travel, but with the built-in Intel Iris graphics it’s hardly robust for things like Photoshop 3D or Premiere Pro.It seems like the external GPU would be a great way to give my work MacBook the juice to be able to run those heftier applications when I’m back in my office, without having to jump onto another machine. I wonder if anyone has had experience with this, and whether in particular this would be an acceptable setup for Photoshop and Premiere Pro. It sounds like this is exactly its purpose, but I didn’t see any Adobe apps mentioned int he article nor on Apple’s store site.Blackmagic external GPU review: A very Apple graphics solution | Ars Technica https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/20

We were sad to see the official announcement, last week, that Adobe Muse has ceased development.Let’s be honest. This Adobe decision is going to create a hardship for Muse designers, who do not code. There’s been a great deal of anxiety already expressed about this Adobe announcement. Many users of Muse create great websites for clients. Those Muse designers are justified in feeling abandoned by Adobe.Adobe will continue to support its very designer-friendly app, for web/mobile projects, into May 2019, but after that, it’s pretty much entering the history books of Adobe web/mobile EOL (end of life) apps.It is our hope that over the next 14 months, before Muse support closes, Adobe will provide a solution, which allows Muse users to cleanly migrate their projects to another Adobe app.Your Muse app won’t stop working, but will it be useful? What happens is that browser apps are improved and computers and mobile devices get OS (operating system) updates. Older Internet creation apps are t

Can one use a copy of CS5 in preparation for an associate within the adobe fields go id, ai, ps, dw, and fl? Or is the content not relevant to test prep? Thanks.

It seems to me that older people who started using computers a long time ago (desktops and then laptops) sometimes have a better understanding of some of the 'functions' available to share info with others via screen shots and where info is located about system specs and stuff like that.I feel kinda bad for new people who can't find that info as readily as we older people can. Even win 10 makes it a little more difficult than earlier O.S. to find basic info about their computers. In a way, things are getting 'dummied down' to make things easier for users, but along the way it has also made it harder to get specific info. With the CC stuff I am not sure how many users opt in to get stuff like photoshop AND premiere pro, and other apps. ( used to be called applications or 'programs' ).So, with PC clones, for example, using the "Prt Sc." (print screen) key is an age old method of putting full screen into clipboard, but a lot of younger people don't know that. Then if you go to photoshop and

Hi other ACP's,My 2010 MacPro seems to have given up. This happened about 10 months ago and I managed to get it restarted after a few days and a number of tricks. (repair place and Apple said it could not be fixed then!...)Now it is happening again, and this time all the other tricks are not working. I believe it is the power supply so I ordered a power supply and will try getting it restarted when that arrives.MY Question:However, Does anyone here have a new MacBook Pro 15 with 32 GB of RAM? I am considering replacing the MacPro with a laptop if it has enough power and ram to work PS and LR and more drawing and painting applications. From the activity monitor I seem to use a lot of ram and scratch disk space.- I do not do any 3 D work, and only dabble with video. I do run a lot external drives so of course I will need a lot of adapter cables for  USB and Firewire.Anyone with any thoughts or experience?

These trees line the avenue where I live. Just about every yard has one. They're beautiful and very fragrant almost a sweet perfume aroma. My neighbor said she thought it was a wisteria but I've seen and smelled a wisteria it was more willowy and it's fragrance was different than this. My guess is it's a lilac of some sort but then again everythings a lilac to me as I'm just guessing. I can tell you this, the bloom only lasts a couple of weeks or so and then the rest of the spring and summer it devotes to proliferant large seed pod production . Can you tell what it is? Thanks; you wonderful botanist.

Is better to talk to a person or do you prefer Alexa? Some of Marriott’s hotel brands are getting amazon’s Alexa in the guest rooms. Some people have privacy concerns. While other people have adopted Alexa and made her part of their family. So talking to her on vacation might be like feeling at home?Examples of Alexa’s hospitality uses include ordering room service or asking the device what the swimming pool hours are, today. However, some hotel brands require the human touch. They want you to talk to the Guest Service Representatives (GSRs) and other hotel staff. Some of those hotels don’t even have automated phone answering directories. They want people to answer the phone, after a specific number of rings, and talk to you. What do you think? Is an Alexa or a Siri a better friend of yours than your hotel’s staff?https://www.nbcnews.com/nightly-news/video/convenient-or-creepy-thousands-of-hotels-will-soon-have-amazon-s-alexa-by-your-bedside-1258980419939As a creative professional, you c

The title says it all. Why is concept art only created using raster graphics? Like, I have never really seen one creating concept art in Illustrator (i.e. using vector graphics) rather than Photoshop.
