We recently had a logo designed by an outside firm. They used Corisande for the logo. I'm not a fan of this font. In the style guide they prepared, they suggested using Palatino with it in marketing collateral. I'm not overly fond of the work they firm did, but maybe it's just me. I was not involved in the process. My questions are this: When creating a style guide, should you use the same font as the logo? My non-designers supervisors seem to think so. If not, should the font coordinate with the logo? What are your favorite serif and sans-serif font for marketing materials?
The design your printed piece applications on sites like minted.com and moo.com use fonts like Helvetica. These sites allow users to edit embedded fonts in design templates they select and then generate print-ready PDFs. Helvetica and many of the other fonts prohibit editing embedded fonts.Where does one go in Adobe to get a license for this sort of application (in our case using Adobe Scene 7's web-to-print module)?
I have a lot of old docs from OS9 using Stempel Schneidler. When I try to load the old PS1 font in my new computer (iMac, running OSX 10.7.5) it tells me there is serious damage. So I need to buy a replacement Stempel Schneidler. Should I get the current Open Type font, or the deprecated PS Type 1 font? Is the Open Type compatible with my old docs if I update them to InDesign, or import them as eps or pdf? Thanks for any opinion.
Good morning, everyone;I am looking for a font licensing solution for freelancers contracted with my company. I need to be able to license their workstationfor the duration of the time that they are working on a project, and then revoke the license so that another freelancer can use the fonts instead.Does Font Folio work well for this? Can licenses be assigned and revoked easily, or is it a drawn out ordeal? Is FontFolio included with Creative Cloud membership?
Hi,I'm using LTC Bodoni (via TypeKit) on my website and now I'm working on my digital portfolio: basically HTMl5+CSS, packed with Baker Framework to be published on Apple Store.I would use the font with @11220649-face.I'm wondering if the licence of Bauer Bodoni allows this kind of use.I want ot be sure before buying the font...On Bauer Bodoni webpage (http://store2.adobe.com/cfusion/store/html/index.cfm?store=OLS-IT&event=displayFontPackage&code=1294) Embedding licence is set to Editable for this font: so I could embed the font in a digital document and "the embedded font can then be used by the recipient of the electronic document to view, print and further edit or modify the text and structure of the document in which it is embedded."Using a font inside an app is a little bit different: my final file is not a real document, it's an app. But the recipient (final user) will not be able to modify the document or use the font in no way, because it will be embedded inside the app
I downloaded Adobe font 11, tried to install it in fontbook in my MacBook Pro and it will not download I'm getting the message states problem may have been found with some fonts during validation. what does this mean?
I am completely ignorant of the topic and appreciate any advice I can get. Sorry for silly questions in advance. I am not a designer.Once in a while, I get Microsoft Word documents with fonts that don't come with MS Office (Windows). For example, a get AGaramond-Pro and MyriadPro. One of them is part of Adobe's "Standard Install Set 1" and the other part of "Standard Install Set 2." I don't have these on my machine (or at least in Word). In these documents, the fonts are shown as they were created (such as "AGaramondPro-Regular") but I think what I see on the screen is not the same font but some kind of substitution (some TTF). Needless to say, when I try to edit and send the document back, it all looks different.1. I guess I need to get these fonts, but maybe they are already on my computer or can be taken from some other application (such as simple Adobe Acrobat). I think these are not true type fonts, which might be the reason for my p
I purchased InDesign CS3, CS2, CS1, and CS6 all from the Adobe Store. I had to reformat my HD and lost Adobe Jenson Pro, which was included with InDesign CS3. CS6 does not include it. I contacted Adobe Support to see if I could download Jenson Pro, since it came with a product ordered directly from the Adobe Store. They said I had to purchase InDesign CS6, which I already had. I spoke wth Sudhakar, who perhaps has problems comprehending his company. Is there a way legally to get the font? I can download it illegally, and it will not be illegal for me, since I supposedly own it, but I don't want to risk the virus.
Thanks, in advance for your assistance.
Working on a PC, ACaslon and AGaramond (opentype) appear on the font list separate from their Bold/SemiBold counterparts. I have read the release info and understand this is not a unique issue, but this quirk hampers usability. I'd like to be able to select "Bold" and for the Regular/Roman to then appear with the actual Bold version of the font, not the "Fake Bold" created by MS Word. It is too tedious to go back and change every word I want to be Bold by actually changing the font to ACaslon/AGaramond Bold. Is there a way to fix this so that when I select ACaslon/AGaramond, I can simply hit Ctrl + B and get the "True Bold"? Thank you!
I just found out about Adobe TypeKit and I'm interested in using it for some web site projects that I have. However, I would need fonts that besides supporting west-european languages (basically those covered by ISO Latin-1) are also supporting Russian, Georgian and Armenian characters. Instead of having to check every font for support, I would appreciate if you could point me to those that provide the needed characters.
Hi! A typekit user reported me that the "œ" glyph does not work in typekit. As can be seen in : http://www.urbanbike.com/index.php/site/comments/2012-coup-dil-dans-le-retroviseur
Can anyone identify this font? I'm trying to recreate the logo to be screen printed. At first glance I thought it was Handel Gothic but that's not right. I've already checked www.identifont.com and www.whatisfont.com to no avail.

We do the win photos at a horse race track and use the same names quite often. It would save us time if the "type" tool could work like Excel and remember names/words.Thanks!

Typography. I'm not sure if that's the place to be looking I'm trying to list the differences between writing on paper and on a tablet and I think there's a word for when you press harder with a pencil and it make the width of the lettering or font wider. Is there a word for that that you know of?I am trying to verbalize what writing gives you complete conrtol over in the moment. Some things that I have run across so far are kern and ligature. But I would welcome a list as I am trying to be comprehensive and don't know exactly where to start. Thanks,Timothy
