Not sure if this is the right forum, but searching did not deliver any good results.I am a product developer and want to use a particular font on a new product. Is buying the font for use on my computer enough to allow me to 'print' with it on my product?
I am looking for a font similar or the same as the one used on the "nak" logo in this websitehttp://www.nak.net.au/site/Can anyone please help?Thank you
I'm working on an Illustrator project and I need to shape some quotes into objects. For example, I need to fit about 30 words into the shape of a knife, and have no idea how to do it. Any help would be appreciated.
Lately I have been getting an error Arial not found using courier when I try and Distill using any of the job options. I am printing to file from Wordperfect, Pagemaker, and Word. I have no choice in changing it to a more sophisticated program, as I work in a organisation that needs to edit documents in Word afterwards. Can anyone help me with how to get distiller to actually make a PDF? I am using Windows XP, have CS3 Suite loaded, Adobe Pagemaker 7.0, ATM 4.1 lite, LIB: 5.1 Buikd 226, DRIVER: 5.1 Build 226 I use truetype fonts, Symbol fonts and postscript fonts. ATM does not have Arial listed as active, would this be it? What does Create multiple masters mean in ATM?? Does this have anything to do with PostScript Font Metrics Files (.PFM,.MMM) ??? PLEASE HELP.
Hi There,Can someone tell me what font type this logo image is???The original designer went missing, and we dont have info on this logo. We need to re design but need the font type? Thanks in advance!!!
Hello,I am creating graphics for an online game, including the background, buttons, animations etc, and I am wondering whether it is legal to use the Adobe font Lithos Pro for the labels for some of the buttons and other graphical elements-- the text would not be editable or selectable by the user, i.e. not part of the dynamic Flash text, but part of the rasterized jpg's included in the game's interface. I have read a similar conversation in these forums from someone wondering whether it was legal to use an Adobe font in a logo, concerning Clarendon, which recieved the answer: "Fonts that you license from the Adobe Type Library directly from Adobe (not licensing the same font through a third party), have absolutely no restrictions against what you propose, creating filled polygons from the text."Does this mean that my project is also alright, or do different rules apply to Lithos Pro?
Hello, I was looking for a sample of Utopia font, but I could find it..Could you please send me a pdf-sample with this text? Of course, the pdf will be only for previewing the text looking and will not be used for any other purpose. My email is, I think, in my profile. Otherwise could you please provide any other link to this font pdf sample?Thank you in advance,SincerelyVad[edited by host]

I haven't been able to find any clear answer to the question of whether Adobe fonts are allowed to be embedded on the web using @11220649-face techniques. http://www.adobe.com/type/browser/info/embedding.html is little vague and doesn't really speak directly to using a font on a webpage. I'm aware of other methods like sIFR and Cufón but those aren't as desirable as using a tool like Font Squirrel's @font-face Generator to create the necessary files. With those files one can simply use CSS for everything rather than having to deal with additional flash and/or javascript to configure and control everything.Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks!
Hello friends. I'm looking to make a Microsoft XNA game, and would like to know Adobe's policy on embedded fonts. Basically, you put the fonts into an image file, usually a .BMP file. Microsoft Visual Studio and XNA will basically take that .BMP file, and convert it to a proprietary file format, .xnb. Does this require any special license?
I just opened a file I probably last worked on in ID CS 3. It uses a little-used common domain (maybe?) font called Classic Typewriter. The file opens and displays fine in CS 3; but, the Regular weight is missing in CS 5. ClassicTypewriter is displayed as the font name, but Regular is surrounded by brackets in the style; i.e., [Regular] . I believe that means ID cannot find the font. What gives? Why is it okay in CS 3 but not CS 5?Just checked, same is true for AI, as well. I further checked the font with Apple's Font Book Validation. There is a message about an error with "name" usability. So, I guess my only question now is why Adobe changed things so that a font that worked in CS3 no longer works in CS5 whether or not the font is totally okay. (The font also seems to work fine in TextEdit.)
Just going through and cleaning up the Font Library at my new workplace. All our work stations are Macs using OSX and Suitcase to manage our fonts. Is there any reason these days to save the .AFM files associated with our Macintosh Type 1 fonts?
Hi all, I need some clear clarification from Adobe or someone in the know on whether I can legally embed a font like VAG Rounded which has a 'Print & Preview' license using a technique such as Cufon (similar to sIFR)? The Cufon website (http://cufon.shoqolate.com/generate/) suggests that all Adobe fonts are 'Known to be safe' but I'd like to be sure to be sure!
My company is interested in using a single font for documents created through automation. Typically, automation will create an original document that will then be reviewed and edited by multiple users. So ultimately we'll need to install the font on something like 200 end user's computers in order for them to see the document with the corect font (Word format). What kind of volume licensing would we need for this purpose? I don't seem to see individual font licensing for anything over a few seat licenses. I'd appreciate any insight. Thanks in advance.
Hi -I'm trying to copy and paste text from a PDF so I can edit and analyze the contents. The file was created in Hebrew. It is set of Israel's election results and available on their government website: http://www.moin.gov.il/Apps/PubWebSite/mainmenu.nsf/4DF815EA4AC4E503C2256BA6002EE732/8E408A044EE1D3EDC2257520002817B8/$FILE/News.pdf.Under document properties, the fonts listed are Helvetica (standard) and two unknown, embedded subsets (TTE1C42600t00 and TTE1DA2290t00).I have tried:- Copy and pasting text from Reader 9 --> opening in Word and Excel, changing around fonts- Copy and pasting text from Acrobat 8 Professional --> opening in Word and Excel, changing around fonts- Right-click, open table as spreadsheet- Exporting as .doc, .TIFF, PostScript, .txt, .html- Export as image, running OCR (trialware Hebrew OCR program I used did not pick up all characters correctly)- Adobe website mentions an Adobe Reader Middle Eastern Edition 7, but when I go to download it, it takes me
Can I use the fonts supplied with Photoshop to design a book cover for publication. This is a commercial use, is this OK.
I have been using Nofret for all of my business correspondence for years. All of a sudden within the last couple of weeks, one style, the Light Italic, refuses to show up in any of my Adobe programs. It is available in my Microsoft and Apple programsI've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the font in FontExplorer Pro, rebooting the applications...no go.I am using CS2 on a G4 PowerPC.Any clues as to why this single style would disappear when all of the other styles of that font are available? Can I get it back?
My attempts to search out the old thread in which a Garamond Premier Pro bug was discussed were unsuccessful. Unfortunately, I don't remember whether a possible fix was contemplated or not.The tittles over the i and the j are disimilarly shaped and at different heights. This is particularly bothersome when setting Dutch text, where the combination of ij is not only extremely common but is even considered a separate letter of the alphabet on its own right. It's a fantastic font, and it really bothers me not to be able to use it in multilingual documents that include Dutch.
I just went to the Adobe MAX website, max.adobe.com, and saw a headline with an interesting sans serif font:Adobe MAX 2010October 23-27, Los Angeles, CA.I just checked the page source and that line is coded like this:<h1 id="header">Adobe MAX 2010<br>October 23-27, Los Angeles, CA</h1>I then followed the css file to find this:h1#header { font-family: Arial; color: #242424; font-size: 21pt; padding: 0 0 0 0; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 12px;}Am I reading this correctly? I know the font on that page is not Arial. How did they get that non-arial sans serif font to look the way it does? Thanks!

India has introduced a new symbol for the rupee. When can we see it incorporated in Adobe fonts? I use Minion Web Pro and Myriad Web Pro for my work. Or can I create my own, give it a unicode symbol / keyboard shortcut and add it to the Minion and Myriad fonts on my computer? The new rupee symbol can be viewed here.http://news.techworld.com/sme/3232184/india-chooses-new-rupee-symbol/?olo=rss(Incidentally, it is a mix of the roman "R" and Hindi "ra".)
