I have created a logo that is essentially a stylized font. It's now saved as outlines, so I can manipulate the letters individually. One of the things I did was shrink the capital letters of the company name just a bit. In other words, if the name of the company is: "Hamburger Paradise", the "H" and the "P" are a little bit smaller in relation to the lowercase letters. It looks great, except that the thickness of the stroke of the "H" and the "P" is just a bit narrower than the rest of the letters. Anyone know how to scale these letters and keep the scale? I can probably fake it, but I'd like it to be completely accurate.

I am so lost; Can someone please tell me how to install downloaded fonts into CS3, I have already extracted them, but for some reason they wont appear in photoshop?
I'm doing some spring cleaning on my fonts, and thought I'd minimize the installed fonts to the basics. Anyone know the necessary fonts related to adobe to keep in the system directory? (I'll be managing the fonts I like as usual and load them back in on a as needed basis.) thanks for any info. Pete
I have a logo set in Palatino (it's our company logo) and I just found out that I have 2 versions of it: one with the ® symbol in Helvetica and the other one set in Palatino, like the logo. Which font should be used for that symbol? Is there a rule for that, or is it just a matter of taste?
I have typefonts in a "Fonts" folder on my G4 (OS 9.1) that are not on my iMAC (OS 10.5.5). Is there a way to transfer and use them? Right now when I burn the (PostScript and printer) fonts onto a CD they become unix files on my iMAC.
I'm trying to update a catalog in InDesign CS4 and it can't find the Helvetica fonts that were used in the previous versions of the catalog. Is this font not included in the program? Does it have to be purchased separately? If I can't get it for CS4 could someone recommend a similar font that is available? Thanks in advance... Mel
Does anyone know how to oraganize fonts in any of the adobe programs. I would like to be able to organize fonts by families. Such as when I click on fonts and get my list of fonts I would like to have 1 font name and then have the drop down menu for all of the different weights, instead of having all of the weights listed as seperate fonts. Does any one know how to do this or what program can I use to acheive this in any of the adobe programs? Thank you for your help
Hi there, does anyone know where to find information on licences for fonts bundled with CS3 design premium? Or any of the fonts? What I am trying to find is if I can use bundled fonts commercially in my designs and is there a list of fonts bundled with CS3.

I am trying to install some Type1 Univers fonts that are from around 1991 (at least that's the copyright date) onto a Vista PC. Each font consists of an .AFM, .INF, and .PFB file. The font install panel in Windows Vista does not show anything when I browse to the folder containing those files. There is information at the Acrobat website that says "PostScript Type 1 fonts (.pfb + .pfm)" are supported on Windows Vista: http://www.adobe.com/type/browser/fontinstall/instructions_english.html . Does the plus sign in the description mean that I have to have both the .pfb and the .pfm file to be able to install the font, and not just one or the other?
I'm searching for a font that is quick brush script, very edgy, like brush painted one stroke over concrete, broken but with style, fitting with skate board edginess. Anyone have any suggestions for a font like this? TIA, Ken
I've always wondered how to use the accent characters included in fonts. I'm working in InDesign on a PC, Windows XP or Vista. Years ago I typeset foreign characters on phototype systems. We'd create characters not available on fonts by setting an accent (for example a grave accent), then the character (for example an "e"), then either disable the typesetter's horizontal advance after the accent was set, or move the character (like the "e") to the left, so that it appeared under the accent mark. This worked quite nicely, with a little trial and error. [Of course I know that we can get the e with a grave accent over it in fonts--but the example explains the problem.] For most accented characters I use fonts that have what I need--sometimes specialized fonts that I've purchased. But occasionally I need just one character in a more standard font. Is there some way in Windows to manually create an accented character by using a letter and an accent on the same font (similar to the above
Wikipedia says..ATM Version 4.1.2 is fully compatible with Windows 2000 and XP (It will run on XP 64 bit, but the installer doesn't work so you have to install it on a 32bit version then copy over the files). How safe is this to do, not wishing to screw up a brand new PC at the start of the build ! Just what is it referring to, what exactly do I do please ? Is there an equivalent to ATM for 64bit, that functions just as well. On my 32bit system (I am dual boot XP32/home 64pro) I did try using just Start>Control Panel>Fonts File>install font but it threw up a mesage 'creator of font doesnt want font converted to true type and ok'ing this saw nothing happen it seemed. So on went ATM 4.1, then the registry addition in post#65 of another thread to fix the font invalid problem I was getting, and I proceeded to install all my Type 1's. I would thus like to use ATM on 64 if poss, in a safe way. Envirographics
Hi there, I want to purchase this font, but need to know that I can use the italic also... does anyone know? Thanks
In the 1980s I was involved in creating a poster in screen-printing technique (two colors!) and I seem to remember we prepared the type using rub-on letters that were then enlarged. I already found the main type to be best resembled by Compacta (and not Helvetica UltraCompressed), but we had a "LIVE" sticker on the poster with slanted letter ends at the L and E, see here: http://www.the-magictones.de/LIE.gif I already tried Identifont and uploaded the file to WhatTheFont, to no avail. Any hints or ideas? Thanks a lot, - Michael
Hi all, Can't figure where else to post this problem. New setup running Windows XP x64 and I have tried a few font manager solutions. Suitcase 11 and FontAgent Pro 4 both fail to activate fonts. FontAgent Pro 4 actually puts the shortcut of the OTF file in the windows/fonts folder but it doesn't show up in my adobe applications. All the fonts are OTF fontfolio 11 btw. Anyone have any insight on this one?
Some fonts I am working on contain a number of digraphs with diacriticals applying to the digraph as a whole. For example, one glyph consists of a "k" followed immediately by an "h", with an underscore running under both letters. As far as I can see, the best way to represent this in Unicode is "k" + Zero Width Joiner (uni200D) + "h" + combining macron below (uni0331). (The choice of uni0331 rather than, say, combining low line (uni0332) is not in my hands.) But when I place things like this in my liga file, nothing happens: sub k uni200D h uni0331 by k_uni200D_h_uni0331 I have tried various approaches to work round this, but without success. It almost seems as if ligatures containing Zero Width Joiner have been disabled. Can anyone help/enlighten me? I am running the latest makeOTF on a MacBook Pro. By the way, I am currently in India, and it will be difficult to consult this forum frequently. It would be a great kindness if any replies could be copied to my email address: jds10 AT
I have seen this pop up several times in the last week, on the net, on power point presentations. Someone in the audience at the power point presentation yelled "It's a PC problem." Anyway, here it Is: Can anyone here identify the cause of this anomaly?
is helvetica neue regular the same as helvetica neue roman? I cant find "helvetica neue regular" anywhere.
Which fonts in Font Folio 11 are with CE version?
Hello all, I have a serious problem related with .PFB font files. Is there any relation between font name length; I checked and if font name length is more than 30 characters I am getting an error that "the requested file C:\....\....Pfm,C:\....\....Pfb was not a valid font file". Although I am using the same way to install all fonts. Please help me and give me any solution. Please let me know if there any limitation with windows XP, or its a limitation of Type 1 fonts. Thanks in advance and pardon my English. Thanks........
