The Reader forum has been spammed since about 10 hours ago. Despite the several reports in the Spam thread, the spam messages are still piling up. This is making the forum nearly unusable.
Adobe double charged me for my software, then tells me, I need to call them back, I have been on hold for several hours trying to get a refund, not to mention it took me several days to get my software ordered correctly they kept entering my order wrong. Their customer service is completely incompetent.
Hello Everyone,1. What is the difference beteween "Reply" and "Reply to original post" in Adobe Forums?2. What will happen if we Click on the Reply option?3. What will happen if we Click on the Reply to original post option?
My task is to open existing pdf's (usually the source is a scanned document or a converted word doc) label parts of the document with numbers and somehow indicated the paragraph of text each number applies to. I need these "labels and mark-ups" to be saved with the pdf and also visible when the pdf is printed. I currently use adobe acrobat commenting tools ( text box and line drawing tool) to do this. However I am wondering if another product exist that would have different features that allow me to produce a document that looks more professional. I do not need to edit text, just need to add labels and symbols that would allow the content to be referenced quickly. Thanks for taking the time to read this. It's raining where I'm at, hope your day is sunny.
(I hope this isn't a forum etiquette violation)Can I request more space for private messages? Thanks!
Let's get some forum software which allows you to quote somebody. You know - like every civilized bulletin board on the internet. You need to be able to quote somebody in order to give comments the obvious context and background they have - this is important for internet communication. And internet communication is a big part of the value of this software. So, let's get it working.

This is my first experience at trying to purchase from Abode. I placed an order for my son, educational discount, and went back 2 days later to send his photo ID as required. I thought I did thi when I hit 'review and submit' but nothing happened. I keep being diverted to USA when I try and find a phone number. It looks like a simple email about a problem to the relevant country (or to any country!) isn't an option??I wish I'd never ordered it, now I have to wait 5 days to see if they're going to post it or not - when I could go to a sensible site and have no problems. This isn't worth the $35 student discount! (off their full price). Other sites have a full price almost the same as the student price anyway.I'm wasting my life. Do they want business or not? I've bought a lot on the internet. This is pure crazy!Anyway, if someone is more proficient around this rediculous site and can post the phone number for Abode in australia (or an email addres
In my profile, the "Hide" my email address has always been checked, and still is. But my email is there for everyone to see. This is most annoying, and I protest violently for this violation of my privacy.Addition: and if I hover the cursor over my name, my email address is also shown, followed by this ridiculous statement: "(Private: hidden to everyone)".Message was edited by: Claudio González. Reason: addition.
I am unable to post in this thread:http://forums.adobe.com/thread/848980?tstart=0Every time I try, I get the error:x unable to post message
In the thread http://forums.adobe.com/thread/740631 (TIFF vs PSD CS5) in the InDesign forum, I've received several posts in email today that do not appear in the web interface. The latest post in the web interface is:http://forums.adobe.com/message/3668725 (12:40pm Pacific, RobertoBlake)According to the emails, from the thread, there have been five subsequent posts, beginning withhttp://forums.adobe.com/message/3668797 (12:53pm Pacific, macinbytes)and ending withhttp://forums.adobe.com/message/3669007 (2:02pm Pacific, RobertoBlake)I can only assume there is some kind of database corruption? All times above are the email timestamps. In the case of the first one,the web timestamp is acftually 12:39pm Pacific, I guess they don't match 1:1 at all times.
I've learned almost by accident), that Adobe acquired some Psion software (software went to Mobile Innovations from Psion, MI was acquired, etc.).The software in question was called Agenda and was a pretty good calendar program for the handheld Psion.I am interested in maybe porting the program to the Kindle and was wondering if Adobe still has the source.... I know it's a long long shot.A second statement / question: At one time Adobe was the master of grey scale (via PostScript and Macs) - you might be able to leverage some of that knowledge into tools to help Kindle publishers. I guess many publish in color (which Kindle apps support, but not Kindles of course), but I'm sure there are nuances that may have been forgotten since those days when greyscale was "leading edge" for desktop publishing; maybe at least some sort of "driver" to output publications for Kindle?
Please, I need your help:How can a specific location in a PDF - file from a location in a Word document can be directly controlled? In Word documents or Microsoft Office files for this can be used bookmarks or links - in PDF, this is the shortcuts and bookmarks as possible. But, suppose the Word document and PDF - Doku are each several hundred pages long, and you want to "jump" from one location in Word document to a specific point in the PDF file - how? All previous attempts failed as the insertion of hyperlinks. In PDF and Word will only open the entire file - that is accurate only to the first point in each document, but not to a specific location in the documents. How can this be achieved with Adobe Acrobat Pro X - or this is some software? If so suggest your alternatives. Thanks in advance

I have been creating images for quit some time using the Pen Tool in Illustrator, and never have I had this problem. At this time I am using CS5. My problem is that the drawn line won't reduse in point size when I shrink the total image. I have gone into the prefrences and checked to make sure the "shrink point size of vector" is selected. Is there something I'm missing? How can I solve this problem?Elaine
I'd like to think the forum is a repository where answers to one person's questions can end up helping others in the future. But that kind of goes to hell in a hurry if the forum loses supporting image information...Exhibit A: A forum thread with a now missing image (see response #1), which was uploaded just a few days ago:http://forums.adobe.com/thread/842318I happen to still have the image around, if it's at all helpful in restoring that thread to its former vigor. Here it is:-Noel
From time to time things seem to work a little differently. Subtly so, but definitely so as well.It would be comforting to know that this isn't a figment of my imagination, or unexpected/unknown things changing on the computer here.I know the forum is a hugely complex thing, but can you confirm or deny that from time to time changes are being made to the forum software? It's just idle curiosity, but I'm kind of hoping the answer is "yes, occasionally we're rolling out minor modifications"... It would help explain things.-Noel
Adobe-Admin noted that work was ongoing in the forums, and allowed as how a node might be out of sync (in another thread), so this could be part of the "work," or maybe it's been around for awhile, but I never encountered it.Background: I've been getting the "An Unexpected Error Has Occurred" message all afternoon (Tuesday, May 10), but if I go Back, then Cancel for my Reply, it is in fact posted.Just did that, but missed Cancel and hit Post again. It was then that I got another error message: "You are not allowed to post more than once per 9 sec." or similar syntax. Could this be a new anti-spam measure?Hunt
Frankly, this business of reporting spam here and hoping an Admin will follow-up seems a bit silly.I really feel for the Adobe Admins who must continually track the spam thread here and go actively delete posts based on the reports. Here's an idea...What if when someone reported a post as spam using the existing [Report Abuse] button it was immediately removed from display and put on a list for Admin review? Then, even if no Admin ever followed-up, the spam would just be off the forum as quickly as possible. The forum software could even track the number of reports and suspend an account automatically if a member hit a spam count threshold. You would then essentially have the members who care about the quality of the forums ALL actively fighting spam at once.About the only downside I can think of is that someone could report perfectly legitimate posts as spam, thus abusing the [Report Abuse] system. The Admin could just ban such members (or simply remove their ability to squelch spam
My forum identity has created a new identity: eddiem100-ZSI21j. It is simply eddiem100. It has now created the second identity while zeroing out all my posts. I tried the steps in the Forums FAQ of logging out, logging back in, unchecking remember me, logging out again and then logging in newly.Still not resolved. Help!
Hi,when I write messages here on this forum, I like to format my text and I can see all those wonderful toolsto do just that (this THAT I wrote in BIIIG letters and they were RED when writing this message...Same goes for styles etc....But as soon as I hit "Post Message" - all that formation has been discarded.... Here is a screen shot of me writing this message:Any ideas of what I am doing wrong ?
I wonder if you are open to the idea of registering this fourm on the Tapatalk network. It would be nice to be able to use the nice interface on the tapatalk android app. I'm not sure if the Jive clearspace software of this forum is supported or not, but it seems they have apis that offer different ways of integrating forums with their network.http://www.tapatalk.com/plugin.phpIf not, what are the chances of a dedicated Adobe forums app? Has it been discussed?
It seems the editor now (and possibly for the past several days) wants to insert extra blank lines. Not the ones you normally get while typing, but extra ones between typing and when the post shows up in the thread. When it does it, I have found I can even edit the post and remove the extra blank lines, only to have them reinserted after the post is updated again (or maybe that's just the "sometimes the edit doesn't take" bug rearing its head).A minor annoyance, to be sure, but just one more little thing wrong, raising the blood pressure incrementally...-Noel
I haven't run across it, but does this forum support the ability to have one user just not show posts from another particular user? Sometimes some folks just don't want to hear from specific others, and that would be a handy way to make life more pleasant...-Noel
