Using the Community

Hi,I am still recieving email notifications from Adobe Forums (Premiere Elements and others)  I never asked to be threaded from these forums and when I open them it shows that to get action I need to active by "click to recieve". I also have turned this off in my profile and I am still get them.Why?

Some posts on the forum have text or code included in small windows with sliders at the side and bottom. See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/471158?tstart=0 for instance.On my screen the window is not large enough to view the code, and there seems to be no method of expanding it. Is this a bug or a problem that only I have?I'm using IE8 on a very large monitor in full screen  mode at around 1600 x 1024 pixels.

n older versions of CS, I've installed it on a desktop and a notebook so that I can use it when and where i need to. Is that possible with this version. Taking a computer class that allows me to get the discounted version. Exactly what is the difference? Thanks in advance, Mr BK

     Hi gangI see that I may have stirred the pot a bit by temporarily parking a post in this forum until I heard back from the OP which product was being used.I would like to extend my sincere apologies to anyone that may have affected. It seemed to be the "most intelligent" choice I could make at the time and I suppose it wasn't received very well.This does beg a question, however. If we do see a post that absolutely doesn't fit in the forums we monitor, is there a suggested "parking spot" to move it to as a temporary measure? My intent was only to remove it from view of the forum I knew it did not belong in. Had I been given any form of a remote clue as to what forum it *DID* belong in, I'd have moved it there and been done with it.advTHANKSance... Rick

I would like to get Adobe ACE certified and am doing some trial classes on Lynda.com which I think are very good.  However,do they go far enough and cover enough for someone to then get ACE certification?   Any comments or suggestions are muchappreciated!

Hi again folks.I can't help but to notice that when someone mistakenly posts in this forum, the post isn't simply moved to the proper venue. Instead, there seems to be a general reply that this isn't the place and sometimes a link to the correct venue is offered. I'm curious to know why you don't simply move the post to the correct venue and be done with it?Cheers... Rick

For whatever reason, although I am logged-in to Adobe Forums, I cannot post a reply to a message that was posted in reply to my original message (which began the discussion).  A blank white space, barely discernible, is displayed below the two lines with their respective radion buttons for "Yes my question was answered." and "No, my question was not answered."  The choice is "No", but I did not ask any question(s) to begin with.Instead, I posted three screenshots which showed  problems that I encountered while attempting to download and install the most recent update to Adobe Reader for Firefox.  Someone posted a reply that the same problem occurs with Opera.  I wanted to tell him that Firefox, Safari and Opera all use the same add-on for Adobe Reader.But there was no way that I could discover to enter any text into the field for it.  Javascript was enabled, or I would not have been able to use the Reply feature to access the screen on which the message wa

Hi there i recently completed a complete redesign of a website LockSmart 24hr Locksmith every thing was fine and i tested in ALL major browsers i.e firefox, chrome and opera until firefox released a new version and now text on my site has shifted position and looks terriable. i know its a age old theme that each browser takes the infomation and displays it in its own unique fashion bur is there not a way that DW could restrain how you design your site so as to stop these conflicts?Just a thought....

I come to these forums every once and awhile, and EVERY TIME I have to login and type my password. Seriously? When I try installing the upgrade there is no option to enter a Freehand number. The Adobe web site says Freehand MX, 10, 9 are eligible. What's going on???? How can I get this installed????

Man missing...Dave Millbut's ID has gone belly up!!!

I just went from ~250 or something to 4.  And I lost like 80 points!How the heck am I supposed to get my second meatball?!I was #3 top contributor in the Illy forum but was replaced with some cyborg version of me "JesseHam Jah5zl"Anyone else having this happen?  Is it because I made fun of the point system too many times?  Is the admin getting pissed?

Is there a thread anywhere that contains usability tweaks for the new forum UI?I've seen this Stylish flex-width tweak http://forums.adobe.com/thread/414809#1870916and Ramón has mentioned liberal use of AdBlock Plus to remove clutter and whitespace.Is there anything else that would help?
