Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my PC and is currently looking to a Asus x299 Mobo with 32 Gb ram. Will moving from an i7 7800 6 core CPU to i7 7820 8 core CPU be worth the extra money?The 7820 is 65% more expensive than 7800 here in Norway/Frode

My goal is to edit 4k straight from my Sony a6500 and Phantom 4 Pro (h.264 files) directly in PP without creating Proxies. I just want to drag and drop and edit, applying Lumetri and a LUT for the most part. Cutting a feature doc with Premiere, and in many ways it's great. Handling various formats, ease of title creation and adjustments. Interaction with photoshop and AfterEffects. Great.But...when it comes down the actual nitty gritty of editing -- moving in and out of source clips, trimming -- or even just moving through timelines, I'm getting lots and lots of headaches, pauses, drives spinning...Most frustrating is when I'll be playing a clip in a timeline. Pause then go to play the clip again 1 second later, and now I'm forced to wait 30 seconds for ALL of my G-Raid's to flash and spin and do something so that this clip that was playing perfectly well a moment ago can resume.This is frustration #1 -- something is happening wherein my drives are holding things up, their flashing, spinning, and I'm waiting. I'm not sure what they're doing but it's grinding the cutting down to a halt. Any solutions out there? G-Drive is telling me the issue is not with them because the drives are made to

Just overclocked my 5820 to 4.2Ghz.  I've tested it, seems very stable, temps are fine, no throttling. DRAM now at its stock speed of 2400, rather than 2133 that "auto" was setting it to.  Rendering seems improved, general system responsiveness is good... BUT whereas premiere used to be able to handle mp4s with no problem, now it stutters and spits the dummy - even 1080 ones seem to give it trouble. A  higher res timelpase (4k) - I have to wait 30 seconds before I get a single frame displayed in the source monitor - it just says media pending. Even a 1080 one it taking 10 seconds+.  Once loaded the 4K one plays OK in the source monitor, but drag it to a 1080 timeline and the playhead will move, but it'll just show 1 frame.Anyone else out there overclocking and can help?

Hi there,So I'm hoping to learn a number of new skills in After Effects, but my MacBook Air doesn't really have what it takes under the hood to run the program very well. Rendering anything more than the most basic effects is nearly impossible. I'm hoping to get into beauty work, color work, motion graphics, 2.5D, lighting, etc, and I'm looking to buy a new computer in order to learn these things. I'm especially hoping to buy a Mac, and even hoping to buy a laptop, but if that won't work, then I'll take any recommendations. What relatively simple computers can handle After Effects? And I need PC to edit in 4k blackmagic camera files. Which micro is better to edit in 4k in adobe premiere and do color correction. Intel i7 7700k or amd ryzen 1700x? I am mainly interested in knowing which one has the best performance for playback. I'm not interested in the difference in render time. Or do any of these micros work? The Quadro K2200 is in the list of supported cards for GPU acceleration--latest drivers installed. Premiere Pro 2017 does not recognize it. I have installed the latest driver, I have checked the NVidia Control Panel to include Premiere in the list of "Manage 3d Settings"Project Settings doesn't even give the option of renderer. I have tested Adobe Premiere Pro 5.5 and I was able to get it to recognize and effectively scrub and render real-time. (Yellow line) And I have combed through posts online and have tried any and all hacks and tips from other users. Nothing seems to make a difference.

When in full screen playback, I experience strange horizontal glitches, most notably when there is movement in the frame. It's like there horizontal bands across the screen that show different frames. Slightly hard to explain, would be easier to show. I am on a Windows 10 Desktop, 7700K Intel CPU, 32Gb Ram, Radeon RX480 8GB GPU, fast internal raid for media, two SSD's for program/OS and cache.The problem persists on CPU only playback and with OpenCL, with HD and UHD footage, and with different codecs.It does not happen in the normal source of program monitor, not even when in 100%.I have chatted about this with Adobe, I have called them, spent many hours with them, but they were unable to resolve it, promised to come back to me and never did in many months, so I am hoping for a response here.

Hey,I currently have a 6700k and 16GB of HyperX Fury 2300MHz DDR4 memory. My storage includes 120GB of Samsung 840 EVO SSD and a 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black.My SSD is used for the OS and some other software such as Chrome, Teamspeak, Discord, Corsair driver software, etc. All of the editing is being done when the footage is on the HD and though I'm away from my PC now, I'm pretty certain my disk cache is on the SSD.My question is what would be the best way to upgrade my storage, and if needed, RAM also. I thought about getting a second SSD and a second HD (2 to 4 TB, still haven't decided), but I'm not sure what should be the use for each of the drives (SSD for disk cache, active projects, HD for footage and old project files, no idea basically).So, uh, basically, I have no idea how it should be done and could use some help.

So i will try an explain this as best i can I have 4 drives right now,2 SSD drives and 2 HDD ,one of the HDD is a very slowish 2TB drive i just dump images and audio effects on.My main SSD has my operating system on and a few games i play,it does have some programs but nothing from adobe.Now my second SSD is completely brand new,it has been formatted and thats it,this is the drive i want to use purely for adobe applications.I cannot install them on the (1) main drive as space is limited,so i would like to install them all on my (2) SSD,the other drive is a slightly faster HDDSo(1) Main SSD with OS on (2) brand new SSD with nothing on there at all(3) a slow 2 TB HDD(4) a slightly faster HDDI want to install 5 possible 6 Adobe application on (2) but where would i create the media cache for best performance, i cannot use my (1) drive so it would need to be on one of the other three.Is it ok to install my programs on the (2) and have media cache on the same drive  ?Anyway , all help
