Hey!I bought 2 days ago a Ryzen 1700X CPU with a Gigabyte X370 Gaming 5 motherboard to use, among other things, for Premiere Pro.I have tried all possible things and I can't get it to work properly, because of EXTREMELY fast "out of memory" behavior. So I have 16GB of RAM on my machine and if I import 20 4k video files, there's an 80% chance it will run out of memory during import, or a 100% chance it will run out of memory during conforming. The entire process takes around 30s and then Premier Pro is dead. It either closes itself, or I get the out of memory warning with a lot of errors reported by PP itself, cautioning me to save the work and close the program.I tried CUDA acceleration (GPU accelerated Mercury Engine) and software both. They behave the same. The lockup with CUDA enabled is more severe, it may even make the NVIDIA drivers crash. This is on a GTX 1070. Also tried with an RX 480 and it behaves the same, although there's no driver crash.I have tried with a fresh Windows 1

Im buying a new laptop to edit premier pro and after effects on, Im using HD/4K footage, my budget is around £800 and I want something that is lightweight. Do not want a Dell, quite happy with HPs. Not going to bother with any Macs

Dobrý den,už delší čas řešíme stále se vracející problém s HW nedostatečností pro střih videa a to i po upgradu PC.Nároky se stále zvyšují a to jak na již zmiňovaný HW PC, tak samozřejmě i na formáty pořizované modernímikamerami. Chápu, že to spolu úzce souvisí, a proto bych se rád zeptal, co nejvíce ovlivňuje výkon při střihuvidea v Adobe Premiere CC2017. Je to procesor? RAM? Grafická karta? Co má největší prioritu? Je lepší AMDs OpenCL nebo nVidia s CUDA a je v tom veliký rozdíl? Momentálně máme ve studiu pracovní stanici HP Z440s grafickou kartou AMD FirePro W5100, CPU Intel Xeon E5-1620 (8 jader - 3,5 GHz) a 16 GB RAM. Nejčastějipracujeme s video formáty .MXF ve full HD rozlišení 50p. Při multi-camovém střihu, kde by byly i jentři kamery- tři stopy s tímto formátem, PC totálně nezvládá a je nutné soubory překonvertovat do nižších formátů.Budu rád za každou radu a za každý tip. Recently our studio installed a proper video server for all our editors to work from. The main reason for doing this was logistics. Like many small studios we were perpetually trading drives with footage, back-ups were in many different places, footage would be lost on occasion. It was a terribly messy and unreliable system. Additionally in the last year we moved from shooting primarily on RED Epic-X and DSLR to RED Epic-W and Sony Cinema. So we started to have to deal with 8K R3D files and garbage Sony codec files! FUN FUN! Our poorly little (extremely top of the line) edit suites were choking. Initially it was perplexing to me because we have multi-cpu Xeon machines with top line geforce cards, fast m.2 caching. The works! So where is the bottleneck? Well it's in storage. In the past the idea was to reduce Pr processing bottle necks by using 3+ HDDs in a RAID configuration.With SSDs can we now skip the RAID controllers and put all our raw video and output video files on 1 SSD?Or maybe have a smaller SSD for Windows 10 and CC apps and a larger SSD for project and video files?A new system might include only 3 drives: 240MB SSD + 1TB SSD + 4TB HDD.Projects can be processed on the 1TB SSD and when completed moved to the 4TB HHD for storage in case they need to be moved back on the 1TB SSD for further processing.

Hi,I want to start using the Premiere CC 2017 (I'm a student in cinema class) in cloud and going  to purchase a new computer especially  for it.We are very confused about what are system requirements and will appreciate help.Is the following configuration good enough for a regular use of the SW? Hi All,I'm starting a new job soon and fear that the standard laptop given to employees won't effectively handle InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat (or running any of these simultaneously). I will be the only person at the company, and probably am the first, who will be using these programs so I doubt they have any experience/ familiarity with the system requirements.That said, I wondered whether any of you could advise as to what the basic specs for a Windows laptop should be (CPU, ram, storage etc.) in order to run these programs effectively without freezing up or breaking after 2 years? I'm by no means looking for a beast machine, just specs that will do the job.Thanks!

Do you think it will be fluid with a smooth editing and playing back and moving things on the timeline, or not?also how about in 720p proxies. Will things move fluid then even when I will throw titles and maybe some effects?Does it tax the system to create proxies while editing on the timeline? If yes that is why I don't want any prizes. That faster way to edit possible.Also, very roughly what duration of exporting are we looking at? duration for both exporting in 4k and hd so that I can see my options.Thank you everyone.P.s. I want to future proof it as best I can.  I do very straightforward, old school editing without much SFX work.  Don't even subscribe or know how to use After Effects but would like to have the muscle to use it someday soon... Beginning to use 4K...  Am involved with 360 video production.  I also really like the idea of a curved 34" monitor...  I'd like a recommendation for the best bang for buck system...   I consider Video storage to be a separate cost factor...Thanks

I need some help with the system requirements. I understand them fine but I have to purchase a computer for work where I'll be using Photoshop, illustrator and InDesign only for 40 percent of the time and the rest will be general office work and using Windows 7 Professional 64. I'll try my best to keep this simple. I have a PC with Windows 10 and a GTX 970 GPU, plus two monitors - An ASUS PB287Q 4k Monitor and a 2nd 21:9 LG Ultrawide Monitor (which I used for my timeline only).When I restart my computer and open up Premiere CC17 and then set my workspace to have the timeline appear in the 2nd 21:9 monitor, things (in Premiere Pro Timeline only) don't scroll like they should (all other apps/browser work fine and scroll as normal). Normally you'd hover over the audio tracks anywhere on the timeline and if you scrolled up or down with your mouse the audio tracks would move up or down, right? Same with video tracks. But in my projects, in order to scroll up or down in the audio tracks I have to hover over the far left side of the VIDEO tracks (maybe around video track 2 or 3) and THEN the audio tracks will scroll. Go a bit higher up to maybe video track 3 or 4 on the left side of the timeline and then the video tracks scroll up and down. Scrolling left and right

I am currently using an Intel Core i7-2600K CPU with 24GB of DDR3 dual-channel RAM, 500 GB SSD boot drive, 250GB SSD scratch drive and an nVidia GeoForce 9600 GT graphics card, using mainly Lightroom CC, Photoshop CC and Premiere Pro CS5.I am planning to upgrade my PC with a Ryzen-7 1700X AMD CPU in an MSI X370 SLI Plus motherboard with 32GB of G.Skill Flare-X F4-2400 Ryzen DDR4 RAM and an Asus GeForce GTX 1060 Turbo 6GB graphics card.The total cost of this upgrade is $1400 and for me at the moment it's a lot of money. I am expecting at least 70% better performance but I wonder if I'm spending my money well? CPU + MB is $700, RAM is $340, GPU is $370.Will I get good performance from this upgrade? Or will I just wish I'd spent more and bought maybe an i7-7700K Gaby Lake upgrade?Thanks, Tony

Hey guys, was curious if there was some kind of configuration I had wrong - but I expected that Premiere would use all my CPU power to export a video in H.264 - but it only seems to hit 20-25% max. Is there something I can change? I'm using the Youtube 1080p preset (I use a copy in the screen shot so it just appears at the top of the list.)If this is normal - how could I increase the speed of my video exports for YouTube? Should I be using a format besides H.264? I thought a CPU with more cores was all I needed. From what I can tell in other threads, the GPU would only help for certain tasks (effects, resizing). I'm also using separate SSD's for the source video and export location - so I don't think disk write is the bottleneck. Any advice would be great!

I am in the process of upgrading to a new computer and will be doing video editing. The computer configuration I am looking to purchase has Nvidia GTX 1070. I would like to know if there are any compatibility issues with the card and Adobe Premiere. Internet discussions suggest there are issues, but I cannot determine if the issues have been resolved or not. Please include GTX 960 in your response. I do not want to buy a superior more expensive video card if a lower priced one will be adequate. Please help. Thanks.

I'm finally able to upgrade my workstation. Well, upgrade is the wrong word. I'm finally able to get a workstation once again! The last couple of years I've been on the road so much that I did'nt "need" a workstation for the kind of work I did. Been using my Asus UX51VZ (UX51VZ | Notebooks | ASUS Singapore) without to much problem.So! Hey,i recently bought me a Asus ROG G752VS-GC054T, i7 6820HK, 32 GB RAM + GTX 1070 and was hoping to edit much more faster in Premiere CC.I have been struggling,with this the past days...tried almost ever tip i found on the internet (installed cuda drivers,manually set up the "supported cards" text file...etc.)The problem is that Cuda support is shown and selectable in CC, but it doesnt seem to access the GTX 1070. With everthing i do, its always just the CPU maxed out at almost 100%. And i am only editing HD material not even 4K. At the moment i need to edit a multicam project, and its just pure frustation, its so slow like a slideshow - i cant work like that. 😞I even tried older drivers or converting the files (which were sony XAVC) to MXF and other, but even that didnt do the trick. Any suggestion what i can do else? I have been struggling with this almost the whole night and i am getting crazy already...Thanks!
