How can I flip selected text horizontally without leaving the original text behind in Photoshop?

Question

I have a CCTV image with horizontally mirrored OSD text (date/time and camera number).
The photographic scene has already been corrected with Horizontal Flip, so I do not want to flip the entire image again.
I want to correct only the OSD text.
I can successfully select the OSD text using a rectangular marquee combined with Color Range. The text selection itself seems accurate.
However, when I use Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal on the selection, the original text appears to remain underneath the flipped text, so the two versions overlap.
I also hid the other layers, but the overlapping text was still visible.
What is the correct Photoshop workflow to replace the original selected text with its horizontally flipped version, without affecting the surrounding background?
Would using Transform Selection, Channels, or another method be more appropriate?

안녕하세요.현재 겪고 계신 현상은 CCTV 화면 속 OSD 텍스트가 별도의 ‘포토샵 문자 레이어’가 아니라, 이미 이미지(픽셀) 데이터와 하나로 합쳐져 있는 상태이기 때문에 발생하는 현상입니다.포토샵 레이어 탭에서 스마트 개체(Smart Object) 형태의 이미지 레이어를 마우스 우클릭하여 레이어 래스터화 (Rasterize Layer)를 실행하면, 새 레이어를 복사하지 않고도 단일 레이어 상태에서 글자 영역만 잡고 바로 Ctrl+T로 좌우 반전할 수는 있습니다.하지만 단일 레이어 안에서 픽셀을 강제로 뒤집어버리면 원래 있던 글자가 있던 자리에 배경에 구멍이 나거나 잔상이 겹치기때문에, 이후에 추가로 배경을 수정하는 작업이 말도 못 하게 어려워집니다.따라서 회원님께서 진행하신 선택 영역(Marquee Tool + Color Range) 방식을 그대로 활용을 하시되, Ctrl+J를 눌러 글자만 새 레이어로 분리하여 뒤집어주시는 것이 좋습니다.그 후 맨 아래에 있는 원래 배경 레이어를 선택하고 제거 도구(Remove Tool)로 남아 있는 원본 텍스트를 문질러 지우거나, 편집(Edit) > 내용 인식 채우기(Content-Aware Fill)를 실행하여 거꾸로 남아있는 글씨 영역을 정리해 주시는 방법이 가장 쉽고최선입니다.
