(The position changes and shifts from the PSD file)

(google tlanslate)

Layer positions may be misaligned when editing a puppet

I think you can correct the position manually, but I can't go back to the perfect original position with Ch alone, so I don't want to do it if possible

Is it a bug?

En version:

Does “Reset Layer” command helps?

If not, please send me a direct message. I would like to see your project.

My best GUESS is the best workaround is create a nice big rectangle, hide it (so not visible and not in the way), then start a new puppet from the artwork. I think the new puppet will not have the problem as long as changes to the artwork do not exceed the rectangle size. I would experiment and try it before going to far.

Otherwise finish all artwork changes first, then create the puppet.

Someone else might have better ideas, but that is the best I can suggest.

Wow! Interesting problem!

Hopefully someone who has experienced that will reply. The closest I have had to that problem is making the artwork bigger and the origin moving. But that was with independent layers... I do not know the answer. The following is suggestions to try if you want to try and track it down.

My first suggestion as an experiment is to draw a third layer next to Left and Right and make independent and hidden. Draw a big rectangle bigger than the artwork. Make the rectangle bigger to one side than the others (do not center your picture in the rectangle). Does it move around again? If so, then the change in size is the cause of the problem. Also then you can fix it by leaving a big rectangle there (but hidden) so changes to your artwork should not cause any more problems (the bounding box will not change in size as the big rectangle will cause the origin to be set).

Another experiment - import the same artwork a second time into a new puppet. Are all the positions right on the new puppet? Does it start wrong, or does while editing it goes wrong over time? This might help identify the cause of the problem.

Hmm, i vaguely remember another problem in the past. Do you manually change the origin of the puppet inside Character animator? I recall one time after i moved the origin, each edit caused it to drift. It only happened for one puppet. I never solved the problem.

Can you include screenshots? It might be easier to understand.

If I had to guess, the origin of the puppet is the centroid of the bounding box of the artwork. If you make the artwork bigger, the bounding box will change, and the center might move. You can try to manually adjust the origin, but it is a pain. Only solution I know of is to draw a big bounding box up front, then make it an independent, hidden layer. That way the bounding box does not change with small extensions to the artwork.
