I created a field to enter a number like this, 1 5/8 or 1 7/8 to 2 7/8 etc. I would like to not have to type in the " mark every time. I have this javascript that does what I want, but to whole numbers not fractions. Take a look a this script and perhaps it can be modified to get the job done.my code (in the Custom Format)AFNumber_Format(0,0,0,0,"\''",false);I''ve tried to play around with it a little bit but couldn't get it. I have created an interactive calculator for a few of our price list documents. To do so, I have to copy/paste the calculator created in PDF to the PDF documents. I would like to see if there is a way to do it directly from the InDesign document so it will save me time. I have 9 documents to do this to. Here is a link to what we are using: https://logiflex.ca/medias/documents/graphics-test-calculator.pdfIt was suggested that I ask this forum if there is a solution.
Hello,i want to call a numeric value from an api i created and assign it somewhere or compare it to other values. is this possible in pdf?
I am not very familiar with javascript. I would like to copy text from one set of fields to another in a pdf (using Acrobat DC) based on the whether a checkbox has been checked or not (i.e., if checked box value = true, etc.). How can I do this using javascript as an action for the checkbox field? Assume the checkbox field name is check_yesno. If it is checked (value is true) then I want to copy an address from one field on the form to another. As an example, one of the fields I want to copy is address_main to be copied to address_secondary if the checkbox has been checked. Any help with this would be appreciated.
Hello everyone!I need a little help. I have been following the advice in the forum located here -How do you spawn a template from a button on an already spawned template and rename the field on it? (JavaScript)I have used the advice in the forum and had great results. Recently the buttons have behaved erratically. (new update?)The add code presented does a brilliant job of insuring the add page button is the last button to be displayed therefore eliminating the possibility of linked fields -this.getField("Button1").display=display.noPrint;var a = this.getTemplate("newpage");a.spawn({nPage: pageNum + 1, bRename: true, bOverlay: false}); this.getField("Button1").display=display.hidden;event.target.display=display.hidden;this.pageNum=this.pageNum+1;however the delete button code has given me errors. (bad parameter) Additionally depending on where i hit the delete button will cause the spawn button to re appear not as the last button on the last page. It will be in addition to the sp
I want to change the formatting of a value entered into a field based on that value. i.e. if value greater than 5, the value will appear bold and in red (6).Thank you in advance for your help.
Hi,is it possible to show and hide pages in Adobe Acrobat using the JavaScript API? If so, how? I've been looking for a solution for two days, but I can't find one. Thanks
I have copied a page from the Dynamic stamp PDF to create a stamp that says "Prepared" instead of "Received". I have updated it on the blue background of the PDF, the forms page, the text field properties screen, the title of the document and everywhere else I can see but when I add it to the ENU folder it still says Received, not Completed when added as a stamp to a document. It does pull in the correct time/date so I know it is updating portions correctly.Does anyone know where I need to change to get the Dynamic stamp to say completed instead of the Received that it was copied from?
Is there a way to show all of the javascript routines in a PDF at once? I am trying to find and replace a specific item that appears in multiple scripts but don't want to have to go into the properties of every field in the form.
I put a lot of time in designing an OK looking interactive form. I want all the textfields to be white on a colored background. No problem so far. Now when opening the PDF in the reader it shows all the fields in the colors specified in the user preferences of Acrobat. Can be any color but in my case everything turns purple! Have to uncheck the setting to see everything back to normal. I want my file to look the same to anybody opening it no matter what their personal settings are for forms. Is there a way to uncheck these settings when opening the file by executing an action javascript? Hope someone knows a way, it's been bugging me too long now, not a programmer myself obviously. Thanks.

Good evening, I am trying to find an efficient way to compare the form field values from two different documents... is there an easy way to do this? Both documents are the same, but the idea is to check for any possible changes made to one of the documents. Any help would be wonderful, thank you!
For the last few days I've been looking into stamps. I've successfully created both types so far. But, what I was, stamps were tamper proof. I found out they are not. In Acrobat Pro X and also, in all the Readers. You can't flatten them in the Reader so if you give your doc to someone that has and is versed in Acrobat they can delete the stamp and create their own stamp which looks exactly like mine. Even if flattening was possible you can use the Edit Object tool to select it and delete it then create your own counterfeit stamp and modify the doc. It's a little disappointing because I don't like people having access to my projects. Give someone your doc with containing some stamps and if they choose, in the Reader they can delete all the stamps under the Comments List. My question is - How do you experts keep your docs a bit more secure?
Looking to make it so that after a user opens a document after a specified number of times that the document expires and they can't open it again.
I am trying to create a pdf with several different functions. 1. I need to calculate the difference in dates to find how many years someone has worked with the company as of April 1, 2019. Second, I need to add the time they will work if they start at 8 am and finish at 5 pm. Third, I need to have a box that needs to read a percentage based on a value inputted into another box (i.e. If a = 15, then b = 45%; if a = 21, b = 50%, etc.). Lastly, I need boxes to read 1% if a "yes" box is checked. I've tried javascript on my own but I am doing something wrong. Can someone please simply tell me how to do this, where to insert my fields, etc.? Nothing I have done has worked. Thanks!
I've been into creating stamps lately. I have successfully created custom stamps which were easy. They're just construction symbols. Easy. But, now I would like to create a stamp that would enable me to have a fillable legend. As with many blue prints there's usually a legend table. But, sometimes not. This is what I'd like to have added to my pdfs when needed. A stamp that would have four to five fields that I could enter data such as job name, address, type of job, etc then flatten and save. I've been reading articles and I also know there's a book out there specializing in stamps. I've done some research and I'm still not getting a clear understanding as to what can be done. At this point I'm just wanting to know if I can create a stamp like what I've described. If you know if it is or not possible, please let me know. Thanks.
I have several checklists in a drop down. Each checklist requires different items to be checked off. How do I make the form fields change to what is required based on the checklist selection in the drop down?
I have a pdf doc that when the user clicks a button, the document scales and scrolls both vertically and horizontally to a certain point inside the pdf. I need to get the user's Preference>Page Display> Resolution to ensure the user is navigated to the correct point in the pdf. How do i get that property using Javascript?
I am looking for some code, when you open the PDF file you see the username in a texrfield. Thanks
I am attaching an image of a portion of a log page. As you see, there are multiple (six) identical records - each has a date field.I need to do two things: 1) Assure that the date being entered does not predate the date field in the previous record, and 2)verify that there is indeed a date in the date field of the previous record (avoid skipping records). Here is some code I have tried, but I cannot get the if condition to work:Please share your thoughts.//THIS VALIDATES THE DATE ENTEREDvar cMsg = "The date you entered is invalid.\n\nPlease enter a date that does not pre-date the previous entry date.";var nIcon = 0;var nType = 0;var cTitle = "DATE ERROR";var str = event.target.name;var res = str.charAt(str.length-1);var d1 = Date.parse(this.getField("0." + (res-1)).value);var d2 = Date.parse(event.value);if (d1 == 0) {if (d1 > d2) {app.beep();app.alert(cMsg, nIcon, nType, cTitle);event.value = "";}} else {var cMsg = "This is an invalid entry\n\nThe previous date entry cannot be empt
Good evening, my coworker, and I, are trying to find the fastest way to extract all the text from a flat text PDF, and using the text for the rest of our program.Currently, we are able to extract all the text, but Acrobat seems to want to be slow... our program was initially very fast at extracting all of the text, but we think Adobe might have made an update which made extracting text take longer?Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
