Hi -When we create a PDF from documents based on one of our Word templates, auto-numbered numerical digits in 1st-level and sometimes (depending on the document) 2nd-level section headers come into the PDF as xobject images rather than as text characters. This happens in TOC entries as well as the headers in the text. If I manually replace the numbers in the TOC in Word, they come into PDF ok. If I manually replace the numbers in the section headers, they come into PDF ok but, as one would expect, subsequent sections renumber themselves.Windows 7, Word 2013, Acrobat XI.Anyone ever run into this? Ideas, suggestions most appreciated. Thanks!
I have coded Excel macros for years. And I am looking to find a way to retrieve PDF form fields into Excel worksheets. I haven't bought Acrobat Pro yet (I have seen that I must have PRO to do this) but I am wanting to get a good idea about the coding or methods before I buy...making sure I am not biting off more than I can chew
I purchased Adobe adobe CS 5.0 Design Standard edition and Acrobat 9 Pro separate installers some years ago. I have bought it as downloadable software from adobe licensing server, so I don't have physical cd or dvd.Because my old machine crashed I am trying to install both packages again on clean win 7 machine.I have my CS 5.0 and Acrobat 9.0 pro serials on Adobe Licensing server:Acrobat Professional9.0International EnglishWindowsLIC SNAdobe Design Std5.0International EnglishWindowsLIC SNI can also download and install my CS 5.0 Design Standard edition with no problem. But I don't have any Acrobat 9.0 Pro option to download.I browsed your forum and it suggests this link:Download Acrobat 8 and Acrobat 9 When I download Acrobat 9 Professional and try to install it, installer refuses to accept my serial nr. "Invalid serial Number" it says.I searched little more:I downloaded AcroPro90_efg.exe program, but when I read Creative Suite 5 Design Standard Read Me.pdf, it suggests that I extract a
Hey, everyone,Just a super minor thing, really, but it's mildly annoying from time to time:Every time I view a PDF in Acrobat (Pro DC), there is a thin white border around the edges of the document. (Note: This has nothing to do with transparency—I know about that, and I disabled all those "smoothing" settings in Acrobat's preferences, just to see if it would do anything, and it made no difference.)Is there a way to disable that thin border or am I just stuck with it?I imagine it may be just "an Acrobat thing" (I guess it helps identify the edges of the document if your PDF is also a gray like the pasteboard background), but it always looks like my images/colors/etc. are just a hair short of touching the edges of the page (even though said elements actually bleed off the page -- I just export most of my PDFs without bleeds when I send client comps, so that they see how the file would look in final, trimmed form) and it sometimes looks like a mistake to me.Test image below: If you click
When I try to use Acrobat 9 Pro, I get an error message and cannot procede. "Suite Product Activation Needed Adobe Acrobat was installed as part of a suite. To enable Adobe Acrobat, please start another component of this suite (such as Adobe Photoshop)." Opening Photoshop CS4 does not help as mentioned it should. The only temporary solution is to uninstall all of CS4 and reinstall using my license. Is there a known solution? The previous answer was to buy a new version of Acrobat.
is there a secure way to view pdfs only on a web site?
Whenever I'm using the highlight tool to highlight scanned pdfs, DC is crashing after about 5 or so highlights and I have to do Cntrl, Alt, Delete and bring up Task Mgr and shut it down. It's gotten to where I have to click on save after EVERY highlight or else I lose all of the highlights when it freezes up. VERY ANNOYING, since I'm having to do this 10+ times per day! 😠We are running Windows 7 Enterprise where I work. Thanks for any advice I can give our IT guys. They are stumped by this as well

Hi, I have a VB6 app that uses the AcroPDF.dll to view PDF files.Since the update to 15.23.20053 anytime I use the AcroPDF control to view the PDF I get a constantly blinking cursor, it flickers between the arrow cursor and the loading cursor. Also the CPU usage jumps up and slows down the PC.In the background I can see a process called RDRCEF.exe constantly opening and crashing... I think this is the issue.Would anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this issue. As I said this issue only occurs with the update to 15.23.20053.Specific details:AcroPDF.dll - version 15.23.20053RDRCEF.exe - version 15.23.20053Thanks.

I just want to enter text in the text field on label1 and have this text copied in the same text field on the other 5 labels. How do I get this done?
I am most likely not the first to discover this, but nonetheless it was a very happy discovery.I work on a Mac but run Windows too, under Parallels. With my routine it is simply best to work on my Acrobat forms on the Mac, with the exception of course when it comes to editing my scripts. Those familiar know that if you use an external Mac text editor with Acrobat, you must quit the text editor in order to return to and use your form.I discovered that if I set the Acrobat JavaScript preferences on my Mac to use a Windows text editor (in my case, I am using notepad++), I lose that very annoying problem of having to quit the text editor to use my forms in editing mode. When I edit a script, whether the script is attached to a field, a Document JavaScript or All JavaScripts, notepad++ opens in Parallels, and when I close the script in notepad++, leaving notepad++ open, I can then return to and continue working on my form. It appears to work as well as editing a form's script in Windo
I have a document that has an ExpireDate field that needs to auto-populate based on whether one checkbox or another is checked (these could also be radio buttons I suppose). The first checkbox "FCheck" needs to auto-populate Today+365 days in the ExpireDate Field. The second checkbox "MCheck" needs to auto-populate Today+182 days in the ExpireDate Field. If neither box is checked, the field should be blank. (There should never be a situation when both should be checked, so I guess I should change these to radio buttons).I've tried every forum imaginable, but can't seem to nail this down. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
First off, I am NOT a scripter. I've learned from this Forum (lots of script "lifting") and reading. This is a little more complicated for me than the usual question. Users are submitting a form in which they will enter a current salary, a maximum they cannot exceed (required field) and then they will either enter a percentage for the increase that calculates the new salary OR they might enter their own "new" salary which cannot exceed the maximum and shouldn't exceed the 5%, but could (there are conditions outside of the form that would allow more than 5%). I have a hidden field that will automatically calculate the new salary if the user inputs the percentage. When it comes to choice, I don't have the option to require them to fill out one field or the other; some may pick percentage and some may chose to enter the new salary themselves. Is there a way to make both fields "available" to the user (conditional), but exclusively validated. I hope I'm explaining this correctly. The fields
Hi,I'm currently writing a PLUGIN for Adobe Pro using Adobe SDK X! and everything works great. I'm currently facing a challenge when printing using the default printer (windows 7.0) with the API AVDocPrintPagesWithParams()I need to initialize the AVDocPrintParamsRec structure to insure that the page size is FItToPaper and that the orientation is Portrait. Right now it's always pointing to "Auto portrait/landscape". The end results is that landscape pages in the document will get rotated to Portrait automatically. I need for the pages to be scaled down and Fit in Portrait mode without any rotation.I was playing with the option AVDocPrintNupData without any success.Need help,Thanks,
Hi@All. I need support to save my toolbar, which i create in Adbobe Acrobat. Everytime i close Acrobat i lost my toolbar. Thanks for help
I want to collapse a pdf form in adobe acrobat. Is it possible to do the same by setting bookmark. i want to collapse a pdf form dynamically on checking a check box dynamically.
Hi,I am using the Mac OS X versions of Acrobat Pro DC and MS Word (Office 2016).All software updated to latest versions as of March 2016.When I save the Word document as pdf, or use Acrobat Pro DC to convert the Word document to pdf,the TOC hyperlinks are not created in the pdf file. How to solve this problem?
I have created a custom date received stamp that asks for the date from the user. If the user leaves it blank it defaults to the current date. This stamp works perfect in Acrobat 11 but when i put the stamp in Adobe ReaderDC it works as long as you enter a date but returns a blank line if the user leaves the prompt empty rather than return the current date. Here is the code I used.var cAsk = "Enter Date Received - Leave Blank For Current Date";var cTitle = "Date Stamp Date"; if(event.source.forReal && (event.source.stampName == "#xM1uT4oWyH3DQs6bmmc9CC")){ var cMsg = app.response(cAsk, cTitle); event.value = cMsg; event.source.source.info.DocumentState = cMsg;}if (event.value=="") event.value = (new Date()).toString();Anyone have any suggestions to make this work in ReaderDC?Mike
I have a series of numbers that I need to add, they are in 9 fields. The page is a template, the first problem was getting it change the names of the fields to match the spawned page within the script. I solved that problem. The current problem is that if one of the fields is blank, it does not read that field as a '0', it stops adding and combines the rest of the numbers as if they were text. So, if the first 3 fields were 1,1,2 the result would be '4', however if they were 1,1, (blank),2 I would get '22'. It adds the first 2 numbers, then it hits the blank, then it will combine the numbers thereafter. 1,1,(blank),2,3,4 would be 2234, I want it to = 11I need it to consider a blank field a zero so that it continues to add, the 'custom calculation script' is below, please help.(function () {var f_name = event.target.name; var aName = f_name.split("."); var f_prefix = aName[0] + "." + aName[1];event.value = this.getField([f_prefix] + ".ADA A QTY").value+this.getField([f_prefix]
Hello, I'm working on a fillable pdf budget sheet. I want to add in formulas to calculate percentages. I found the code below to remove my "Warning: Javascript Window" issue from a previous forum article. I also want to add in the equation "AmountRentandFees/(TotAnnInc/12)". It works as a stand alone equation but it does not work with the code below. Is there a way that I can use both?? I'm not JavaScript savvy. Any simple ideas people may have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!PatRemove warning:JavaScript window message from dialog (JavaScript)var dialogTrust = app.trustedFunction(function(){app.beginPriv();var data = { description: { name: "Test Dialog", elements: [{ name: "Hello World", type: "static_text", },{ type: "ok", },] } }; app.execDialog(data);app.endPriv();});
I have a plug-in that deletes all pages from a document using the following code:// get the active PDF documentAVDoc currentAVDoc = AVAppGetActiveDoc();PDDoc originalDocument = AVDocGetPDDoc(currentAVDoc);// number of pages in the documentint numPages = PDDocGetNumPages(originalDocument);// delete all pages from the documentPDDocDeletePages(originalDocument, 0, numPages - 1, NULL, NULL);The problem is that I'm getting an error message that simply says "Bad parameter" when my code calls the PDDocDeletePages() function. So I tried to delete each individual page one at a time by doing this: for (int i = numPages - 1; i >= 0; i--) { PDDocDeletePages(originalDocument, i, i, NULL, NULL); }The same error message still appears, but it happens once there is only 1 page remaining. The other pages are deleted without any problem. I have even tried reversing the loop and deleting the pages in the opposite order, but the error still comes when there is only 1
Hey Everyone,I'm trying to populate a radiobutton selection based on the values of two drop down values in Adobe Acrobat X. Here's my javascript, but it doesn't populate the radiobutton/check it. I've put the javascript as a validate event in the second dropdown, although it doesn't work under calculate either.if(this.getField("ddlOne").value == "Admin" && event.value == "User") {this.getField("Checkbox").value = "On";}Any ideas ?
Hi;I'm looking at creating a plugin in the near future. And being able to use VS 2015 instead of VS 2010 would be a giant help. Will the SDK allow use of VS 2015 in the near future? Or are we stuck back in 2010 for the foreseeable future?thanks - dave
